Fuck!

Of all the ways I was going to die and at all the times, i think this was the worst possible moment. I had a pretty shitty life the shitty parents no friends hoping in and out of group homes and placements. I was chronically depressed my first suicide attempt was at 13. even though I was this moody disgruntled little shit growing up I always found an escape in a book. but in real life, I figured if no one cared about me I shouldn't care about myself. I finally came to terms with life and struggling and was trying to make something of myself I had a gotten job where I made one good solid friend Thomas. I stayed in a shitty group home for high school and tom helped me through it.

We ended up making plans to get an apartment together. His family wasn't the greatest as well and we had a lot in common. One night we go out to this new restaurant to celebrate my 18th Birthday Which means Finally my Freedom from the system and finally turning 18. Thomas introduced me to this girl that he went to school with named Angie and we really hit it off. we talk for hours we even dance a bit even though I have two left feet.

She was honestly amazing and every moment I spent with her she impossibily got even better.

as we left the restaurant where we had the celebration, a block party a few miles away set off fireworks and we watched for a while. I hadn't seen where tom had gone off to but figured that he and his girlfriend Susan were probably having their own kind of celebration wink wink.

We had a bit of fun watching the fireworks on this bench near the restaurant and our new place wasn't very far so we started to walk back to my place together. I could tell she liked me and I was holding back from admitting how crazy I was for her.

"You know of all the things that are going on in my life right now I think this might be the best one," I say because my social skills are so bad that I didn't know ur not supposed to be so forward and brutally honest on first dates.

"well Damien, you know Tom might get jealous hearing you say that after all the work you guys put into getting a place," she said flirtily but her cheeks became a little pink at my forwardness. she kind of walked like she was skipping which I found adorable I had long strides and for a second I thought I was walking too fast but even when I walked a bit more slowly she did the little two skip and kind of dragged me along her hand never left mine and I honestly couldn't find words to say for awhile.

"so tell me something that you wouldn't normally say on a first date," I said finally because the silence went from peaceful to deafening.

she told me about her family and about stuff at her in detail and the few blocks seemed to almost stretch into miles we talked and walked. we had a lot in common same interest same rough backstory same love of reading and writing.

after we got right in front of my building I leaned in to kiss her and right as she leaned in to kiss me I saw tom come out from of the entrance of our apartment building pull out a gun and shoot me right in the head.
