When You Become Friends

It's been three weeks since you first saw Lord Darkness. During that time he's visited you at least two times a week. You gave him permission to appear in front of you in your home after the second time you visited him in his castle. And every time he comes and appears in your home, he brings you an entire tray of warm food made just for you.

At first you were pretty terrified of him since one, it's not like you've seen demons often. And two, his height and appearance are intimidating as hell. But since day one and now, he's been nothing but a gentleman well... gentle demon towards you.

He respects your privacy, your decision to just be friends without questioning it, he's a great listener, remembers what you say, and brings you delicious foods and desserts lasting you more than a week. You've grown to trust him more and more, but a part of you still wants to keep your guard up since he's still a demon from Hell.

You've told him almost all of your interests, goals in life, some parts of your past, your collections, and during all that, he never once made a negative remark or judge you for the things that you like.

Now, you just came home from work/school and all you want to do is go to sleep. When you enter your home, you immediately go to the living room and crash on the couch. You don't feel like doing anything right now; you don't even feel like eating even though you barely ate anything.

Just as you close your eyes, you see a thick black fog emerge from the floor and soon you see Lord Darkness standing in the middle of the room holding a small tray of food.

Darkness: (Smiles) I've brought you more food to enjoy Y/n.

But instead of seeing the smile he fell in love with, he sees you laying down on the couch appearing to be upset.

Darkness: (Frowns) Y/n?

He puts the tray down somewhere and gets down on his knee to get to somewhat of your level.

Darkness: Is everything alright? What happened?

He reaches his hand to you, moving your hair away from your face. Your eyes only move to see him. He's very concerned about you and it was obvious.

Y/n: It's uh... it's nothing, don't worry about it.

Darkness: But it's not nothing, isn't it? I want to know why you are like this Y/n. Please tell me.

It feels good, the way his claws gently grace your head. But also how he cares so much about you. You never had anyone like him, who even in the short time that you've known him, could care so much about your entire well-being.

Y/n: (Sighs) Well it's... you remember about that guy I was telling you about the other day?

His eyebrows lower a bit as he feels like he already has an idea of what's happened. But he needs to hear it from you before he does anything.

Darkness: Yes, I remember.

He still gently scratches her head, making you relax.

Y/n: Well... he and his friend were... at first they were just talking until I walked into the room and... I could just feel their eyes on me most of the time, and the worst part was when I hear the friend telling the guy I don't like that he should just make a move on me already. I-I could just tell that they're fucking perverts... but yeah... that's what happened today. I don't know if I'm overreacting or... (You lower your eyes and stare at the floor) but I just get extremely uncomfortable with those kinds of stares...

He stops scratching your head, moving his hand away making you stare back up at him.

Darkness: You are not overreacting. (Stands up) I'll be right back.

The black fog quickly engulfs him in less than a few seconds. You're confused about where he went, but maybe now you can take that nap. But then you hear the doorbell, causing you to groan as you get up to see who it is. It can't be Darkness. He never uses the door and it would make no sense since he was just in the living room.

You open the door and see the guy you were just explaining to Darkness about. He was holding a small teddy bear and a bouquet of roses.

Guy: Hey, I gotcha ya these.

He hands you the stuff and you take them, but you knew where this is going to go.

Y/n: Look man, I already said that I wasn't interested and-

Guy: At least come with me to the party. It's going to be tonight somewhere in the woods. It's going to be freaky nasty, everyone will be there.

Y/n: I'm not going to the party either. I'm just going to stay home, speaking of which, how the hell did you find out where I live?

Guy: Oh my friend lives down the street from you. But come on, it'll only be for a little bit and then I'll drop you off.

He takes a big step forward towards the door making you feel very uncomfortable. But you still keep your foot on the ground.

Y/n: Thanks for the gifts and everything, but no. I'm not going and I'm not interested in you in that way. So I'd appreciate it if you leave alright?

He still keeps the same weird smile on his face as he tries to reach for your wrist making you back up. Alarms are going off in your head but thankfully it doesn't last long.

You then see a large red arm quickly coming from behind you and grip the guy's neck before bringing him into the house. As you turn around you see Darkness holding the man up by the neck, raising up to his level.

You've never seen Lord Darkness get mad. As scary as he looks right now, you don't fear him. In fact, you're actually relieved that he's here.

Darkness: I believe she said no. Yet...(Growls and he grips his neck tighter) you try to...

Darkness then stomps his hoof on the floor, causing the whole house to shake for a second and making you jump back closing the door shut as a red portal opens. You can hear faint screams and roars coming from the portal. Looking back up to Lord Darkness, he gives the human man a sinister look before dropping him into the portal.

He screams as he falls right in and the portal closes as soon as he falls in. It's all over. Just like that, he's gone. That... was scary, but... your kind of glad that he's gone.

Darkness then looks over at you seeing you in shock. His expression turns back to caring and concerned. He was worried if he scared you for doing that. He doesn't want you to fear him. He just wants you to know that you're protected.

Darkness: Y/n...(Walks over to you and reaches his hand for you to take) Are you alright?

He's hoping that you'd take his hand. It'll show that you're not afraid of him. It'll show that you still trust him to be around you. You do hesitate for a second but... you reach your hand to him and take his hand.

He gently wraps your hand and slowly pulls you closer to him. You even rest your head against him and wrap his arm around you. You think this is the first time in a long time that you actually feel safe with someone. He lifts his arm so that his claws reach your head and begins to lightly scratch your head.

Darkness: It's alright Y/n, I'm here. No one will ever dare lay a finger on you.

You believe him, not only that but... being in his arms like this... feels good and you definitely feel safe.
