The Loner - Memory Lost

Anna: What? …. Oh lord...….

(2 years later)

It had been exactly 2 years since I had lost my memory in a terrible accident. Anna said, "I was the survivor of the dungeon outbreak and because of me, many people were saved on the top floor" But I don't get that anyway. I didn't remember anything, "Do I have a family?", "Who am I?" and "Where do I live?". Remember nothing at all. Luckily, Anna let me stay in her apartment and provided me with anything I need, shelter, food and money as much as she can help with. She said that she was indebted to me, but I decided to pay her back for everything she had done for me in the past 2 years.

I received 20,000 dollars for the dungeon outbreak in the last 2 years, after going through countless series of interrogations and inspections by the police station, public safety department and hunter associations, I was assumed as one of the few survivors of the Inn-Joun Hospital's Dungeon outbreak. Some people said it was a miracle and some said I was just lucky because I was not awaken nor a hunter at that time, and to make the matter worse, I was completely normal human being. The odds for a normal human to survive the dungeon outbreak are 1 out of 10,000 which is very very rare. Well, I must be really lucky back then.

All my records and doctors, nurses who know me were killed in action in that outbreak, so I didn't even get a chance to ask "Who am I?". So, I had to register new identification as a special case, and the hunter association took care of that for me as an apology that they couldn't stop the outbreak in time. Now, my name is Denial Thomas and currently living with Anna, used to be my nurse because I had no choice back then but to accept help from someone that knows me.

And like that, I have to work hard to survive in this world as a Denial.

<author> <hello, this author desu. :) In short, Den lost his memory as a side effect of merging with Scutum, and all his status are also temporarily locked up so he cant use his skills but his status remain the same so mc is super strong but he didn't know that. And also for some reason, when other people checked mc status, it showed nothing special just like unawaken normal human being. So, after his memory lost, mc had to restart everything? Denial: My rank is F and my ability is "Stamina Boost(F)". Is there any open position that I can apply?

The reception girl suddenly looked at Denial and her facial expression suddenly changed just like looking at a someone useless, but she continued her smile and said,

"Sorry, there is no available positions for you, I am afraid. With your current Rank, dungeon porter is the only option for you if I am correct. I will notify you from the app if I find any space open in the porter section, how about that?"

Denial: "Thanks".

Well, in this dungeon areas, a lot people were interested in becoming a hunter but F rank is the lowest rank in hunter and they are basically normal human beings with only one F ranked skill and thus considered useless as well as easily died in the dungeon raid.

Shoko: Look, who is here? Denial... Oh.. Denial.. Looking for a job, huh? How sad, you are just a F rank hunter, unlike someone like me "Flame Thrower" Ranked C hunter, that everyone want to make a party with, ha ha ha ha..

(Yea, F ranked hunter are rare because most people are awakened at Rank E or D but they are awakened as Rank F and their abilities are weak as hell) (Really, yea, I heard that they are just like normal humans) (Then, why is he here? Denial heard everything as they were whispering and chatting to their friends and partners. But he decided not to cause a scene here as he needed the job to make a living.

Smith was watching every thing from the corner as if he was monitoring Den knowing what he is capable of.

Shoko: "Yea, Yea. That's right. Walk away just like nothing happen right? That's exactly you should do, You hear me, Denial. F Ranked loser, You hear me, Stay away from Anna, She is mine."

Shoko is a fairly famous C ranked hunter, known as "Flame Thrower" just because he can throw a bunch of flame balls and because he is a member of a guild called "Red Flower", a small guild leaded by "Hell Fire Princess". Shoko has his eyes on Anna but he isn't a good guy as he is a womanizer and abuses his power to do any dirty jobs to get money and connection.

For the past 2 years, Denial Thomas had to endure such humiliations countless times just because he wasn't a hunter. He trained for countless hours and got F ranked skill and became an awakener but it didn't change anything because it is F ranked.

Denial: So, legal organization is no go. (thinking), I have to go under then.

Denial went into a china town in the city center and when he reached at a certain antiques store, he stopped and tried to go in. It was a very old and big antiques store with a big muscular man guarding the entrance. As soon as Denial tried to go through the entrance, the big man stopped him and said.

Big man: "You are not allowed to go in. You can't just normally pass here".

Denial: "How about from under?"

Big man retrieved his hand and said: "Fees..."

Denial: "Here is 300 USD".

Big man: "Time changes, as well as fees. 500 USD".

Denial: "What? That's is nonsense. You are ripping me off my money. It is expensive."

Big man: "No money, no entry" "Things are getting tough around here because polices are sniffing out our supplies route as strictly as they can" and showed him a knife made from the products that can only be obtained in dungeons. "You wanna get troubled".

Denial: (silence)... Here is 500 USD. Let me pass.

Big man: (smiles) Enjoy your time being here.

Denial passed through the metal door and there was a old Chinese woman sitting at the counter seat. "Looking for the elevator?" "The elevator for the up stairs is right in the corner" "Enjoy staying at our "Chi" antiques".

Denial: I am not going to the up-stairs.

The old women: Then where else do you want to go?

Denial: Under. I am going down to the down-stairs.

The old women smiled and said,

"You can use the one at the back, it is out of service though. And be careful not to expose your identity and I hope you enjoy "Hòumén" store. "
