After Shockwave landed on one of the largest continents in this world he connected himself with the internet and tried to read all the information there is present in any kind of digital format.
After a while, he understood the structure of this world. Firstly, this planet is extremely large but most people don't even know about it. Secondly, the humans stay in an extremely small piece of land in the middle of a lake. And thirdly, most people don't even know about the existence of the whole other world.
There is also a hidden organisation called Hunters Association which has special humans called Hunters as it's members, these Hunters are able to use a special form of energy called as Nen.
After searching some more, he also found out that a few people know about the existence of the rest of the world and call it as the Dark Continent. There were also many expeditions arranged to the Dark Continent but almost all of them ended in failure.
He determined his position using the location of the humans and the distance from them and realised that he is in the Dark Continent.

It has been a week since Shockwave has arrived in this world and these past few days have not been kind to him at all.
He had to get used to the new organics present in his body. And though, the organics is extremely powerful he is still not experienced enough to use it properly. Then he also discovered that having some organic part allowed him to get something special, the ability to use Nen. He verified it with the human internet and found out many things about Nen.
Nen is produced from the life force of the living organism itself and can be manipulated to have various functions. To be able to use Nen, people can either develop the ability naturally or can be forcefully initiated by other Nen users. There are 4 basics of Nen using, the Envelop, to Supress, to Enhance and finally a special one that is called Hatsu. It is special format of Nen which is usually unique for different people. Then there are also compatibility tests for Nen users. There are 6 types of Nen auras, Enhancement, Transmutation, Conjuration, Emission, Manipulation and Specialisation.
Shockwave had been able to easily unlock his Nen after trying for just a few minutes. He was able to master the basics of Nen within a week. Now he is about to perform what the humans call a Water Divination.
(AN: Can anyone tell me, if the same person can have two different Nen specialization?)
Where, they take a glass of water and put a leaf on it. But now he is having some problems. He just couldn't get enough free time to perform the divination. Whenever he tries to do it, some kind of biological abomination tries to devour him. And for every 10 creatures that he kills, more 20 takes their place.
This went on for weeks until he was finally able to get some free time. The creatures now know that Shockwave is not easy prey and don't want to risk their lives attacking him. Shockwave took a leaf from a nearby tree and placed it on a glass of water that he created. Driller-bot stood gaurd around him while he did the Divination. He started supplying a little bit of Nen at first to the glass and slowly started increasing the amount. Suddenly, the colour of the water started turning into red and the leaf turned longer and started looking more healthier than before.
(AN: Can anyone guess what his Specialization will look like?)

Shockwave knows that he is a Nen Specialist. But he still cannot figure out how to use his abilities. He tried to do it again on a large feline and the feline turned more powerful and more agressive. He doesn't get how the changes of the leaf and the animal is related.
(AN: I might be wrong with how Nen works. I had read the manga a few years ago and so I don't remember much about it. I'm now using the Wiki to fill the holes in my knowledge. Forgive me if I make some kind of mistake.)
But he shelfed that problem for later and started working on something more important. The Blacklight Virus. He entered his lab and transformed his cannon into a normal arm. Then he took just a single drop of the Virus from the large container and started examining it.
The virus was fascinating would be an understatement. Though the Virus has an aversion to pure water but it's evolutionary properties are mind boggling. He tried dropping the Virus cells into a sample of an extremely diluted organic acid and to battle that, the Virus CREATED a new kind of Cell Wall for itself that is made out of metal residues present in living organisms.
But it was still not good enough to be used on Shockwave himself. He felt that this Virus had a LOT of potential just waiting to be tapped into.
But, he atleast has a proper thing to research about.
