"Have you always been this adaptable?" asked Fu Beichen with his eyes narrowed.

"Become hard for anyone?" Purposely mishearing his words, Gu Nanyu raised her brows and laughed it off. "Sorry, I don't have this ability."

Fu Beichen stared down at her intently, with his eyes darkened.

Gu Nanyu noticed the dangerous gaze from Fu Beichen, and she knew it was a warning sign of his anger.

She understood Fu Beichen well enough to know that if he wanted to find out about something, he would try to get the answer at all costs.

At the present moment, she was no match for Fu Beichen.

Obviously, he completely distrusted everything that she had said.

Perhaps, it was because he knew some that information, which was why she was unable to fool him using the flash drive that she had made.

"I can give you the flash drive, but there's one thing I need to clarify first." Since she could keep nothing back from him, Gu Nanyu decided to turn the situation in her favor and strike first.

"Sure." Fu Beichen instantly agreed to Gu Nanyu's request without even asking what it was.

Just as they finished their discussion, a sudden ruckus broke out in the main lobby of the hospital.

"How could you do this? My child is sick right now, how can you tell us to leave the hospital?" A shrill female voice pierced through the air.

Then, they saw the woman appear, carrying a child in her arms as they were ushered out by the hospital security guards.

"Let me tell all of you, my husband is Yang Qinglin from the military district! You will find yourself in serious trouble if you throw me out like this!"

The woman was still shrieking when a man from outside came rushing into the hospital.

The man was none other than the woman's husband, Yang Qinglin.

However, he was not clad in the army uniform right now. He was clad in a normal shirt, and he had a somewhat weary look on his face.

After arriving at the hospital, he saw his wife still quarreling with the hospital staff. His face darkened as he reached over to pull her back.

"Trouble maker! Don't you think this is already embarrassing enough? I ended up losing my job all because of you!"

The woman seemed puzzled when she heard Yang Qinglin said that. Everything was still fine this morning, why is he saying that he lost his post?

"What happened?"

As she watched the two of them arguing, Gu Nanyu instantly realized what had happened.

Since Fu Beichen wanted to acquire the flash drive from her, he would definitely help resolve some of her troubles. For instance, the couple right before her.

Meanwhile, the woman's eyes were ablaze with burning hatred when she noticed Gu Nanyu standing here.

When the man standing beside her saw Fu Beichen, who was standing next to Nanyu, he was absolutely dumbfounded, as though he could not believe what he was seeing.

Then, Yang Qinglin walked over, bowing and paying servile respect to Fu Beichen, as said, "Senior Officer Fu, I didn't expect to see you here, what a coincidence! Uhm... Is this a friend of yours, Senior Officer? We were in the same ward before, what a coincidence..."

Apart from saying how much of a coincidence this was, Yang Qinglin could not say anything else.

After saying that, Fu Beichen grabbed Gu Nanyu by the arm and entered the VIP elevator, going all the way to the top floor.

In their haste, they left behind Yang Qinglin who was sorely regretting his actions.

Gu Nanyu followed Fu Beichen into the elevator. Even though Gu Nanyu did not really like Fu Beichen, the looks on the couple's faces made her feel extremely satisfied.

"So, it seems that you have some uses as well." If she ever gets into trouble in the future, she should just drop Fu Beichen's name and make him the scapegoat, wouldn't it be great?
