When Percy came back Esdeath looked at Percy. She walked toward him and pushed him against the wall with a single hand. She was 4 years his senior but he felt she could crush his chest with a push if she wanted. She was also taller than him which was already intimidating. Her eyes began to glow icy blue and Percy felt like she could turn him into a popsicle.

"What did the thing say exactly?"

Percy's ears were still tingling from the reptilian voice and now he felt he might die. He stuttered to answer, but he tried to keep it secret.

"She…she said I would go west and face a god who had turned. I would retrieve what was stolen and see it safely returned."

Grover jumped for joy, but Esdeath had been learning interrogation from Kurayami as every group needed one. She stopped smiling and looked right at him.

"Anything else? Don't lie to me now. I can send shards of bone into your vital organs with just a light push. Don't test me."

Chiron wanted to step in, but if Percy hid something important things could decent into a worldwide bloodbath. Esdeath looked terrifying and the temperature began to drop. Percy felt the chill in his chest, but Percy didn't want to say. That a friend would betray him? Kurayami looked at him and tried to get him to say it.

"Just say it, was there anything else? She can be VERY persuasive. I taught her myself after all."

Percy shook his head.

"No. That's about it."

Esdeath smiled grabbed his wrist and twisted it with a terrifying pop. Percy screamed in pain, and Chiron and Grover were going to stop her, but Kurayami spoke up.

"I would say the truth, or Esdeath will break your hand. It isn't broken, but the nerves are being forced to scream in pain."

He struggled but relented as the pain was too much.

"IT SAID I WILL BETRAYED BY ONE I CONSIDER FRIEND. LET ME GO. Please."

She let go and healed him after which made Chiron frown.

"And you kept that to yourself. While I don't approve of the method it is good that is out. What you need to know is oracles shave double meaning, so don't think too deep into them."

Percy rubbed his almost broken wrist and felt like crying. Kurayami scoffed at him as he tried to hide something so important.

"That is what you get for hiding precious info. I also can't be the friend spoken off as I can't be seen by prophesies."

Raynare shrugged while Akeno could not be bothered. As for Kuroka, she glanced at him before looking away once again.

He sighed.

"Who is the god in the west?"

Chiron pointed to his head.

"Think Percy, If Zeus and Poseidon weaken each other in a war, who stands to gain?"

Raynare looked up as she answered the question.

"There are only two gods who would be fine with this. Hades and Ares. A god of the dead and war would love such a fight breaking out. I know my grandfather would have treated such an event as a feast of death."

Chiron shook his head.

"No, I do not think Ares would go so far. Let's see what we know, a Fury came after him and watched him until she was sure and then tried to kill him. Furies obey only one lord: Hades. The hellhound got into the forest,"

Chiron continued.

"Those can only be summoned from the Fields of Punishment, and they had to be summoned by someone within the camp. He must suspect Poseidon will try to use Percy to clear his name,"

"If Hades sent a minion to steal the master bolt he must have hid it in the Underworld, knowing full well that Zeus would blame Poseidon. However, Percy must go to the Underworld, find the master bolt, and reveal the truth."

Akeno and Raynare broke out laughing and even Kurayami felt a urge to laugh if he could. Kuroka just looked at Percy with pity as he was surely going to die.

Kurayami pointed at Percy.

"Him? He can't even defend himself and is weaker than even a low-class Grim Reaper."

Akeno nodded.

"I mean besides splashing people with toilet water he has not done much."

Kurayami knew his sister could turn water into razor-sharp blades, ice, or steam on a whim. She was that good, but if Percy the son of Poseidon could not do that, what else was he good for?

Percy was bright red and Esdeath agreed as well.

"Basic training, only some control over water, lacks mental fortitude, rash and emotional. He is a child and needs time to mature. Not only did he try to keep important info hidden, Chion you seriously think he can make Hades do anything? Hades is in the top ten and stronger than Zeus. Only someone like my grandfather could face him directly."

Percy was annoyed at her words, but when they heard that Hades was stronger than Zeus that was a shock. Except the sky did not get angry, it was all true. Plus, Azrael and Hades had a history together as they could be considered rivals.

Kurayami raised his hand as he listed things they needed to do.

"So we retrieve the Masterbolt. Return it to Zeus. We get our paycheck and I go home. The Oracle just said to go west where West."

Chiron explained what he knew.

"The entrance to the Underworld is always in the west. It moves from age to age, just like Olympus. Right now, of course, it's in America. As for Hades being stronger, we keep that secret."

Akeno looked annoyed at the centaur as he kept talking in riddles.

"Stop speaking in riddles and just tell us where?"

Chiron was a little salty.

"It's tradition anyway. The entrance to the Underworld is in Los Angeles."

Kurayami patted him on the shoulder.

"Sure. This is easy I just teleport us there and we are done."

Kuroka turned into a cat and jumped on his head.

"Let's go then. Everyone who has not teleported before, get ready to puke your guts up, nya."

Chiron slammed his hand down stopping them from teleporting.

"And mess with destiny. You shouldn't even be involved."

Esdeath scoffed. They already made it clear what they thought of destiny, oracles, and fate.

"Fate and destiny is a load of shit. Our goal is to become the strongest and obeying Fate is a fool's errand."

Chiron looked at her and didn't know what to say. Kurayami thought about stuff and decided to drive a little. Of course, he would teleport as soon as they were a decent distance away.

Percy remembered the S.U.V from earlier.

"We driving in the truck you made?"

Kurayami shook his head.

"Yes and no. That was a basic spell. I can put many spells on it and we will get to Los Angeles in a few hours at most. Besides, would you take a taxi or something without it?"

Chiron could not stop them so he allowed it.

"Two companions may accompany you from the camp can come. Grover is one. The other has already volunteered, if you will accept her help."

However, Kurayami snapped his fingers.

"Denied. Grover won't be helpful as anything he can do Titus can do better and my team is going too."

Grover was going to complain, but Kurayami whistled and came running the hellhound. It was bigger as Kurayami had been feeding it great food. if before he was as big as a rhino he was now as big as an elephant.

Plus his black fur looked glossy back as lava flowed under it.

"This is Titus. He is our tracker if need be. Hey. Shrink."

He became a big Cane Corso which Kurayami picked up.

"They just need a firm hand and a few treats."

Percy was not happy. That was his friend and he would not take no for an answer.

"Grover has to come. He can help and besides who else would be stupid enough to volunteer for a quest like this?"

The air shimmered behind Chiron and Annabeth became visible, stuffing her Yankees cap into her back pocket. It was her prized possession, a gift from her mother.

"I've been waiting a long time for a quest and I got one. While Athena is no fan of Poseidon, if you're going to save the world, I will be a good asset."

Kurayami looked her over and saw she too had untold potential untapped. It was like the Greeks just did not know how to bring out the full power of a demigod. Unlike Azazel who would be a far better teacher to them.

Chiron relented and waved her off.

"Fine. Go if you must."

Chiron gave them twenty golden drachmas as Kurayami was rather loaded. He had a credit card from Azazel that was useable everywhere. As for the drachmas, the coins were as big as his palm and had images of various Greek gods stamped on one side.

The Empire State Building on the other. He also gave Annabeth and Percy each a canteen of nectar and a few ambrosia squares, to be used only in emergencies, if Percy and Annabeth were seriously hurt.

Chiron nodded as he looked at Percy and Annabeth.

"Bring what you need."

Annabeth was bringing her Yankees cap, which was a present from her mom, and a long bronze knife, hidden in her shirt sleeve. Kurayami had not allowed Grover to come as he offered no benefit. No matter what Percy said, he was adamant about not bringing dead weight.

Kurayami and his group got the truck ready with a space expansion spell in it. When they got in it was bigger on the inside than they thought. There were 6 people in and there was plenty of room. Chiron was by the driver's seat talking to Kurayami.

"Look after that boy. He is important for all of our sakes."

Kurayami nodded.

"That is my job after all. His father employed our services so it's for the best. Just keep an eye on Luke."

Chiron did not understand.

"What do you mean?'

"Do not tell anyone I told you. He can't be trusted. That is all I will say."

Chiron now knew what being spoken to in riddles felt like. He now knew how annoying it was, but Kurayami did not try to explain. He looked at Grover who still wanted to go. Percy finally spoke up.

"No. If he does not come I am not go-"

He should have stayed quiet because Esdeath knocked him out with a simple spell. Raynare shook her head as the kids were annoying.

As for Kuroka she glanced at the downed Percy and closed her hands in prayer. She was not praying and was just making fun of him as she was a devil. As for Chiron, he recognized those flames.

Luke walked up to Kurayami and Chiron acted like nothing was wrong. He did not know why Kurayami warned him, but there had to be a reason. Luke wished them luck despite being bitter about losing.

"Good luck. You will need it."

He did not respond as Luke glared a little.

He started the engine and it roared to life. Titus the hellhound stuck his head out and started barking at Luke. The traitorous demigod recoiled as he was the one to summon it. Why did it betray him already, what did Kurayami do to him?

Red lava spilled from his mouth landing on the ground. It was lucky that this place was not normal or dry so a fire would not start. Kurayami drove out of the camp while he turned on the radio to play some Heavy Metal.

He and the girls liked it except for Kuroka who felt it was too loud. As for the rest of them, they were jamming along to the guttural roars of the band. Annabeth didn't mind and the knocked-out Percy was drooling as he rolled around on the floor.

Kuroka in cat form jumped on his lap as it was the place she liked the most. As he drove out of the countryside and into western Long Island he looked around as it reminded him of the time he was in New York in his past life.

He killed the 5 families of crime in December alone. It had been named Month of Gore as no one was spared from his wrath. It made his face twitch into a tiny smile to his face as he still remembered that delightful night.

How he used the blood of those he killed to write a message to the rest.

"Your Next."

Akeno overheard him and felt his emotions stir into bloodthirsty.

"Who is next?"

Kurayami shook his head as he hid those feelings a bit

"Nothing. Just thinking out loud."

She squinted her eyes.

"If you say so."

Annabeth looked around and it felt weird to be on a highway again. After 6 years at Half-Blood Hill, the real world seemed like a fantasy. She stared at every McDonald's, every kid in the back of his parents' car, every billboard and shopping mall.

Kurayami moved the rearview mirror to look at her and spoke up.

"Don't crave to be normal. I am glad I was born in this magical world as there is more to the world than just the mundane."

Annabeth slumped down and the trip was normal as the truck had wards on it. Traffic slowed them down in Queens. By the time they got into Manhattan, it was sunset and starting to rain.

He kept driving towards Los Angeles and moved at a speed of about 100 miles an hour and he somehow knew where the streets with little to no traffic were on. However, 30 minutes into the trip Raynare asked something.

"Hey. Do you miss Shuri? I miss her cooking."

"Yeah. I do, but my dad is with her."

Percy was still out as a little magic to keep him quiet. Annabeth spoke up as she was curious about something.

"Hey. Kurayami. How is your father? You said he was a Fallen Angel right."

"My father is Baraqiel. He was once known as the Lightning of God. He was one great Cadre of God as his ability to use lightning and holy energy together was one of a kind. My sister and I inherited that ability from him."

Akeno was smiling thinking of her dad so she pitched in to explain about it.

"Well he fell from grace long ago, but 14 years ago. He was wounded in battle and our mother found him. Her name is Shuri Himejima one of the 5 principle clans in Japan. She treated his wounds and they fell in love. Kurayami and I were the result."

Annabeth felt a little jealous as he and Akeno had their parents with them.

"He didn't leave or have to stay away?"

Kurayami shook his head.

"Only gods do that. Most races even dragons stay with their children. Gods are a race that is full of rules and divine bullshit, so while I am mortal per se. I am not bound by the rules of the gods."

He suddenly moved the rearview mirror and saw they were being tailed by a car with three old ladies.

"Someone wake up Percy."

Esdeath woke him up and he held his head in pain.

"Hey. Look in the rearview mirror and tell me what you see."

Percy looked in it and saw the old ladies.

"The Furries?"

Esdeath nodded.

"Exactly. Watch this."

Kurayami willed it and made 100 spears of light that all burned in holy fire and thundered in white lightning. They rushed to the car and *BOOOOM* The three of them were dead.

The Holy Energies began to burn their unholy existence, but Kurayami gave them mercy and did not kill them fully. Titus howled in joy, but the howl of a hellhound sent chills up people's spines.

Percy and Annabeth looked at the explosion and were shocked.

"HOW?"

Raynare looked behind them as she bragged.

"You think that is impressive. We can fill the sky with them if needed."

Kurayami kept driving without a reaction. Percy saw that Grover was not with them and felt bad for his friend. Kurayami pushed a button on the console as he had driven long enough.

"Time to go."

Suddenly a magic circle opened under the truck and they suddenly appeared a few miles out of L.A. Kurayami nodded.

"There we go. No need to drive so long when teleporting magic exists for a good reason. Though I am now bored. I was hoping to fight a god at least."

He would get his wish soon and meet one of his best friends in the future.
