Chapter 20

The cold wind blew as I blinked, and a figure walked into the alleyway. I held my breath his face clearing up and I waited for him to pass me before getting out the corner and kicking the back of his knees. He fell immediately and I took the change to grab his neck holding the knife against it as it dug into his flesh a little.

"Who are you?" I asked my tone cold as he put his hands up saying, "Your death." He reached for my hands suddenly moving them before getting up and throwing a punch towards me. I dodged it and slashed his stomach with the knife.

Then I backed away as he scoffed at the light cut. I frowned my eyes focusing and just as he launched himself forwards to punch my gut, and suddenly a bullet flew right at his legs. He fell to the ground holding the wound. I glanced back and sighed noticing that it was Marcus and a few of his boys who then took the body to their car.

"Are you alright?" He asked his eyes strange as they focused on me. I sighed before asking, "I am good, but what is the meaning of this?" He looked at his men nodding as they quickly drove away and he said, "I noticed the bitch was following you after work, so I got them ready, you know him?"

I shook my head saying, "I don't, but he has a price to pay, keep it alive, I'll see it tomorrow." He nodded saying, "I'll pick you up at Leo's school." I nod before sighing at the blood on my knife.

"Want me to take care of it?" He asked extending a hand and I shook my head saying, "Give me your lighter." He searched for it while I took a tissue and wiped the blood off. I then set it on fire as the blood sizzled a little with the tissue burning. "Here," I said passing the lighter back to him and he took it before walking away towards a car I knew all too well.

I got home a little later than I would have liked but after getting home I suddenly had more than just a few questions as to why that bitch of man tried to kill me. I showered before heading to bed after taking a few pills and checking up on the little ones.

The next day passed by quickly as I walked the twins to the school again and noticed Marcus waiting nearby. I walked past him to an area with no cameras and he pulled up beside me and I got inside sitting down quietly. He drove quickly as the building blurred and we soon arrived at an abandoned area.

There was a large metal building with a few cars parked around. I got out soon after and he walked in front of me opening the door. I walked inside noticing the group of people in the corner drinking, and smoking in the corner while a few poked at the man in the center of the room. I sighed asking, "Did he spill anything?" Marcus shook his head saying, "Nothing."

"Good," I said as a small smirk formed on my face, and I looked around. "Empty this place, now," I said, and he nodded before glancing at the men near the beaten body sitting on a wooden chair.
