Chapter 19

It wasn't a long wait and once Sunday was here, I left early in the morning picked up by Marcus who waited by near an abandon ally. I got in the car, and he drove quietly as I asked, "What's wrong?"

"The guy's gonna be a week late, anyway the place I told you about, wanna check it out?" He asked as he drove into the highway. I sighed looking down at the clothes I had on, just a simple jogger and a tight long sleeve shirt. "Sure," I said before asking, "When's he going to get here?" Marcus sighed saying, "Friday around 7." I nodded as he drove, and the rest of the ride was a comfortable silence as we just looked out the window.

The clouds were moving, and the wind was blowing softly as the tress sway to the wind's movement. I glanced at the city as Marcus drove off the highway and we soon parked in front of a somewhat luxurious building. He smiled saying, "You remember Kyle, he owns this place and I also go here so no need to be concerned."

I nodded as I got out the car. We walked together and it didn't take long for Kyle to see us. He walked over immediately, assigning his current client to another trainer before walking towards us. He greeted Marcus first saying, "What's up bud?"

I glanced around and he smiled asking, "Are you here to join the gym?" I nodded saying, "Ya, I have too much time on my hands." He nodded as he asked, "What class do you want to take?" I looked at the flyer before saying, "Which ever is easiest for a beginner." He nodded saying, "Here follow me, I will help set you up with a decent instructor and don't worry about the cost, this way."

Kyle walked towards an office, and I followed him Marcus walking towards the lockers. "So, for you I would suggest starting with a basic workout plan for a month to get you in shape and build up your strength, plus stamina to match a self-defense sport," he said as he sat down.

"We are going to start with a few basic measurements and weights to check your progress as well as establish a diet for the first month, cool?" he asked passing a paper over with many blanks and I nod saying, "Sure, just know if it isn't useful, I will be upset." He nods as he starts to explain before they get the information that he required.

...

"Here," Marcus said passing over a bottle of water. I sighed taking it before drinking. "How was your first day?" he asked, and I closed the bottle saying, "Not bad, anyways I need to get to work. It's almost 12." He nodded as the I got up before walking towards the changing room.

It didn't take long for me to change and Marcus dropped me off at work a little late but no one cared. The day passed quickly and I finished around 8. I wasn't closing today so I left taking the bus home.

I wanted to walk for a bit so I got off a few stops early but just as I turn the corner, I heard footsteps behind me. I slowed down reaching inside my purse. I smiled as I opened the knife inside my purse before holding onto it.

I walked at an even slower pace as I glanced at the building in front of me. There were no camaras and an abandoned ally way in front of me. I controlled my breathing being as vigilant as possible, I walked inside the ally way and waited for the person to either pass by or walk towards me. I took the knife out and hid behind the dumpster as I waited.
