Breakthrough

[Assessment Page]

[Monster Name: Hornless Orc]

[Current Status: Injured, Angry and Frustrated]

[Monster Rank: Orc Sergeant (Rank 2)]

[Skills: Sergeant Roar (Special), Orc Rage (Special), Orc Strength, Axe Strike]

First, the information about the Orc appeared on the page as Aeon carefully read it.

'As I expected, that Orc was not a Soldier but a Sergeant.'

Even though it was his first time seeing an Orc in person, Aeon learned some information about them. So, he was able to guess the strength of the Orc.

Also, he could tell that it was injured from its injuries visible to his eyes.

'So, I can even see their skills.'

Aeon thought he would only see the name and strength of the monster; however, when he saw the Orc's skills, his evaluation of the [Assessment Page] increased to the next level.

'That Orc has…two special skills. With such skills, it is definitely not a normal Rank 2 Monster.'

Having more special skills makes the monsters more powerful, and they can even fight against the monsters above their rank.

Since he didn't have much time, Aeon hurriedly focused on the new information that appeared on the [Assessment Page].

At the end, a note informed Aeon that he had used all his three chances for the [Assessment Page] for the day.

'A Gremlin Sergeant and 10 Gremlin Soldiers. The Orc must be seriously injured to be toyed by such a weak group of Gremlins.'

Even though a rank 2 Gremlin Sergeant was leading 10 Gremlin Soldiers, it was not enough to go against an Orc Sergeant.

The reason why this group of Gremlins toyed with Orc Sergeant was because he was seriously injured and could not use his full strength.

'If only Orcs knew how to be grateful to their benefactors, I would have helped him; however….'

Even though Aeon had just started his cultivation, it was enough to take care of one or two Gremlin Soldiers, and it would break the formation of the Gremlin's group and create an opening for the Orc.

After that, if the Orc and Aeon worked together, they could easily take care of the remaining Forest Gremlins.

However, Orcs are known for their brutal nature and won't coordinate with other races…especially not with humans.

'As for helping the Forest Gremlins…it was even the worst thing to do as they hate getting disturbed amidst their pranks.'

Aeon silently muttered, and seeing them get close, he thought, 'So, the only thing I can do right now is run as fast as I can.'

With that thought in mind, Aeon slowly decided to move the vines and bushes a little, enough for him to run away.

'Let's run.'

Without hesitation, Aeon rushed out of the tree hole and without looking back, he ran away.

Even though he had a chance to kill one Gremlin Soldier that had its back facing him, Aeon didn't kill it.

He was worried that the remaining Forest Gremlins would get angry and come after him, and if that happened, there was no way he could outrun Forest Gremlins, who were known for their agility.

'A human?'

The Orc and Forest Gremlins paused in their actions when they saw Aeon; they were surprised for a moment; however, they didn't think much before returning to their fight.

For them, they were already busy with what they were doing and going after that human…they were not interested.

'Phew…no one is coming after me.'

After running for more than 10 minutes nonstop, Aeon looked back to see no one chasing him, making him heave a sigh of relief.

'I should find another hideout and breakthrough to the level 2 Life Blood Soldier Realm.'

Aeon nearly escaped from one danger; thus, he felt he needed to become a little stronger to increase his chances.

Soon, Aeon started his search for his new hideout while carefully checking the monster traces.

'Massive Footprints with uneven ground…these definitely belong to the Rock Trolls. Let's avoid this path.'

'Claw marks on the trees with fur stuck in them…it belongs to the Canine Monster itching itself to the tree.'

.

.

.

'Damn it…if monster races are everywhere, where am I supposed to go?'

No matter how often he changed his route, he found one or the other monster races' traces, which frustrated Aeon.

'Small footprints with green blood and crude traps …these footprints belong to that monster race.'

After searching for his hideout for a few moments, Aeon found another set of monster traces; however, this time, he was not frustrated and chose to continue in that direction.

'From the looks of it, it might be injured and on its last leg. If I can find the liar, it would be a huge help to me.'

Soon, Aeon started making a plan in his head as he carefully followed the green blood while avoiding the crude traps set by the injured monster or monsters.

Also, the green blood was tried to be covered by the mud; however, the monster(s) seemed to be in a hurry that it didn't cover the blood properly.

Thus, Aeon could keep track of the half-covered green blood on the ground and slowly followed.

After following the tracks for a while, Aeon eventually reached a place that was supposedly not a good place to stay, and it was none other than a waterfall.

'Even though it was a small waterfall, who would make their hideout near a waterfall? Unless they were looking for death.'

This was what Aeon thought in his head.

In a land of danger, water sources are the first places to be avoided when searching for a safe hideout, as all the monsters and mutated animals would come to quench their thirst.

Hence, Aeon decided to leave the small waterfall before it was too late.

'Huh? Wait a second. The green blood's trail ends near the edge of the canyon.'

Aeon thought of something for a moment and turned back before going to the other side of the canyon to see a small cave behind the waterfall.

'There is a cave behind the waterfall?'

The cave was quickly covered by a green-coloured monster with various rocks which camouflaged the cave entrance.

In short, no one could tell that there was a cave behind the waterfall.

'What a good place to hide and cultivate in peace? It is like hiding right under the nose from all the monsters.'

Aeon's eyes brightly shone when he saw the cave and started making a plan to make that cave his.

'As I thought, it was an Injured Goblin, and as for its strength and how many goblins are inside the cave, I don't know about it.'

Just because he found a good place, Aeon rushed into it and started planning for it.

'For now, let's find a temporary hideout and keep observing that cave.'

Even though staying close to the waterfall was risky, Aeon decided to risk it for a good hideout.

'Since the pool is in the canyon and I am above it, it won't be risky, right?'

It was just the words to calm his heart as he found a thick bush and hid in it.

'This place is good enough to watch the cave.'

Even though Aeon was not getting a clear view of the cave behind the waterfall, Aeon was satisfied with it as he quietly waited.

'While I observe the cave, should I finish my breakthrough?'

Suddenly, Aeon thought of this and decided to go with the breakthrough.

'Life Seed, come out and break through to level 2.'

Since his Life Seed could listen to and execute his orders, Aeon decided to order his breakthrough, too.

'Swoosh'

Soon, the tiny Life Seed flew out of his body momentarily before rushing back.

'Kacha'

Following the Life Seed's return, Aeon's body had a crisp sound.

'Grimoire, just stay inside my body. I know that I successfully breakthrough.'

Even if the Grimoire of Life and Death comes out of his body, Aeon cannot check out the information displayed on its pages because he is in a bush and not in the treehole anymore.

Moreover, he could sense that his Life Space had increased, which means he succeeded in his breakthrough.
