Chapter six ONE'S HAPPINESS

"Would I be telling her name if I don't know her?", Parrish said dumbfounded while they all sweatdropped of the girl's reply. Ran was flustered to say anything and covered his face with a pillow. "Since you're awake, I must take my leave now, farewell", Parrish said leaving the group who's staring at her. "Geez! That was so dumb for me to ask...", Ran squealed still embarrassed. "I see, master was checking on me secretly", Ran said smiling. After three months, the cadets finally graduated. Gilbert rushed immediately at the HQ and begged the higher ups to assign them to his battalion and got approved by them. "Hey guys! Let's look at what squad were in", Sistine said while pointing at the board. They checked their names and was devastated by it. "It's not fair! I wanted to be in the Aerial squad but why am I in the Naval squad", Prances said sulking while Akill was complaining why he was put in the Frontliner squad along with Yasui and Ashar. Sistine and Ran were in the Medic group that made the girl dance with joy. Ranga and Ryleigh were put in the Aerial squad. "If Conrad is alive, he would also be put in the Aerial squad", Ranga said with a painful smile. They all nodded and went to the HQ to get their uniforms. "Four months had passed, the wait is over. I'm glad to see you again,kids. You're all alive and are now a certified military soldier", Gilbert greeted at the familiar faces. He wanted to ask about Conrad but realized what happened after he saw their sad faces. He just patted Ranga's shoulder and said, "I heard that you led the cadets in fighting the beast. You are born to be a leader just like me, Ranga. But anyway, I'll be taking you to your assigned squads... ". He showed the way to where each squad resides and gave them their uniforms. "And lastly, Ranga and Ryleigh, let's go to where the Aerial squad is. They'll be glad to welcome newcomers...I think".The duo got confused of the commander's last words before leaving them infront of a cabin. "What are we suppose to do", Ryleigh asked. Ranga was also confused and suddenly the door of the cabin opened, "Ahhh! Are you the new members of our squad?", a girl with light-brown hair asked. "If this is the Aerial squad then yes, we are the new members", Ranga answered. The girl then sighed in disappointment, "I was hoping for it to be a girl but then it was two guys again".She opened the door for them to enter, "Come in". After entering the cabin, they were confronted by the other squad members. "Are these brats the new comers? ", a pink haired girl asked. The two taller man just looked at them before gulping booze. A blonde hair man approached them, "You must be the new squad members...welcome to the worst squad", he happily said. The duo sweatdropped at their new not-so- friendly squadmates. "How rude! You didn't even introduced yourselves before entering", one of the tall guys said. Ranga and Ryleigh stood still and saluted at their seniors, "My name is Ranga Valhalla and my friend here is Ryleigh Flaggan, please take care of us! ".The light brown haired girl smiled, "My name is Viktoria Ral. I love cute things and my hobby is eating. The pink-haired girl is Liezel Reinhardt, she loves girls. That sadistic blonde is Kalel Kruger. For those tall guys over there, the slender one is Eiel Smith and the muscular one is Erix Lorentzen. They are the two captains. Our major is no here so we'll just introduce you to her when she comes back. The major is a busy person".'At least there's one normal kind girl here',Ranga thought. Viktoria showed them their room which had a bunker bed. The room was rather small but pretty neat and organized. After Viktoria left, the boys unpacked their things and changed in their uniforms. 'Keh! And here I thought that this squad would make me rich and popular. This is much worse than the other squads', Ryleigh thought. The next following days and nothing had happened. All they does is clean and eat and sleep. 'This isn't helping at all. How can I find the Azumans by just sitting here and doing chores like a housewife', Ranga thought. They didn't even get to meet the infamous Major of the Aerial Squad. Meanwhile at the Medic squad, Ran and Sorano were busy chatting after reuniting."You just did something dumb that I would die from it! Why did you used my last name in enlisting, Ran?!", Sorano scolded her apprentice. " But master I want to use it. It sounds so cool in my name and have you forgotten that you adopted me? ",Ran said. "You! You must be thankful that I sent Parrish everyday just to check on you even if she's always busy"."You sent the pretty girl everyday to check on me?! You're so kind-hearted master that's why I admire you! "."Yeah yeah whatever",Sorano said while patting his head. Ran then made a serious face, "Master, I wanted to know the reason of your disappearance. Did something happened back then? "."I didn't disappear, I went back home. I'm not really from the Liechstein district. I was travelling because I felt lonely and I wanted to search for happiness. After witnessing the tragedy, I headed to the evacuation area to help the survivors and that's when I saw you. I thought you were just waiting for your parents that's why I didn't mind leaving you. After several days, I came to the orphanage to donate money and saw you again. I found out that your parents died that's why I decided to take care of you for a bit. I left you because I wanted you to live independently. My sister came the day I left and I got along well with her. I realized she was my happiness that's why I always stay by her side. One day, I planned to visit you but I heard from my dad that the officials will be taking my sister after knowing about her power and intellect. I want to protect her that's why I enlisted in the military to continue staying and bonding with her. I hope you understand me,Ran. I am no savior,I'm just a selfish woman who is obsessed with her sister". "Master don't say such thing! Your sister is very lucky to have a loving and protective big sis and I know she treasures you like how you treasure her. The thing is I'm glad to know that you didn't abandon me because I know you would never do such thing!". Sorano smiled at the boy, "I'm glad I had to meet you, Ran Magnolia "."Ran Ur Vagondeuff sounds cooler"."Don't use someone's last name again Ran or else I'll suspend you from my squad. I'm the major and you must listen to my orders. Is that clear?!".Ran stood and saluted, "I understand, Major Sorano Ur Vagondeuff!"
