Chapter 6- The Stray

Hey guys, Novaflame6_Badal here again. Hopefully you all have been enjoying the story so far. For the Story on this site I may change up a few things in the story as it is still a story in progress. I'm thinking I may switch up some of the pairings abit, what do you think? Here are the pairings i was thinking of switching up (First set is what the pairings are currently and the second set is what I'm thinking of changing them to.):

With these next two chapters we will officially come to the end of volume 1 of the Rwby story. I might toss in some extra stuff to make this chapter the normal length though. Next two chapters will cover episodes 15 & 16 of Volume , then it's onto volume two. This story's first main villain will be appearing either towards the end of Volume 2 or I may just save his debut until the extra mission I have planned for Ruby and the gang in volume 3.

Also, Tarro's dialogue with Nova will be quite a bit earlier than in the fanfiction.net story, I'm thinking somewhere in the middle of volume 2. What do you guys think?

Chapter 4- The Stray

Team Rwby is seen walking the streets of Vale one sunny afternoon. An overview of the streets of Vale being decorated in time for the Vytal Festival. Red, yellow, and green streamers and balloons are proudly on display, and Team RWBY is strolling through it all with an awed Weiss Schnee in the front. A sign is being put up by the elderly Shopkeep that reads in bright red letters "WELCOME TO VALE!" for all the foreign newcomers from their respective kingdoms of Remnant.

Weiss stops and raises her arms in amazement but then continues to walk as Team RWBY looks around them at the decorated town.

"The Vytal Festival! Oh, this is absolutely wonderful!", Weiss excitedly says.

Ruby raises a curious eyebrow at this.

"I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much, Weiss." (frowns a little) "It's kinda weirding me out...", Ruby said.

The silver haired girl then turns to Ruby and speaks again to reply.

"How could you not smile? A festival dedicated to the cultures of the world! There will be dances! Parades! A tournament! Oh, the amount of planning and organization that goes into this event is simply breathtaking!" Weiss said smiling.

Yang then deadpanned at this. Planning, yuck! She sure knew how to make something like a festival sound so... not fun. The Blonde sighed and crossed her arms at this.

" You really know how to take a good thing and make it sound boring,"Yang said shaking her head.

Weiss made a face at this.

"Quiet, you!", She said.

Yang just shrugged.

"Heh, whatever you say Ice princess," Yang said.

Weiss hated it when people called her that. Who came up with that awful nickname anyway? She began to argue with Yang until Ruby hushed both of them when she saw something... rather unusual. It was... Nova in... a Bookstore?!

"Either I'm seeing things or... that was Nova in a bookstore. What do you suppose he's doing there?," Ruby said confused.

Yang gave Ruby abit of a sly smirk. Ruby knew that look and she was pretty sure she knew what her sister was thinking.

"Hmm? You wanna go find out eh Rubes?," Yang said slyly smirking.

"Um.. Y-Yang it's not like that between Nova and me, I just thought it was odd was all.," Ruby said stammering nervously and sweating.

"Uh huh, sure it is. Weiss, do you mind if we take a little detour? Ruby just spotted Nova's team and wants to say a quick hello before we continue.," Yang said.

Weiss also gained an amused smile.

"I suppose I don't mind. It would be a welcome distraction, I guess.," Weiss said.

Yang looked to Blake, who was confused as to why they were staring at her. Blake raised a curious eyebrow at this.

"What?," she asked.

"You don't mind if we stop in to see your brothers and their teammates,  do you?," Yang asked.

"Uh no? Why are you asking me? We came out here because Weiss wanted a look at the other participants in the vytal tournament, right?," Blake said.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Come on then.," Yang said.

The four girls entered the bookstore and sure enough saw Team NDTSA there. While Blake was talking to Scarlett and Aiko, Weiss chatting with Daikon, and Yang talking to Turuk, Ruby wandered off when she thought no one was looking to go find Nova. Or at least... go near him so they'd happen to see each other.

What she didn't know was that the other teens were waiting for her to sneak off so they could trail and spy on her. Team RWBY and the rest of Nova's team trailed her until they were in an aisle adjacent to where Ruby was, so they could hear their conversation. 

As Ruby wandered towards the music and comic section, that's when she spotted Nova. The Dark teen looked up and noticed her as their eyes locked. He raised an eyebrow at seeing Ruby here.

"Uh... Hi there N-Nova.," Ruby stammered. 

"Ruby? What are you doing here?," He asked.

"Oh you know, just browsing for some good ol' comics.," she said hoping he didn't catch on to the reason she was here already.

"I see...," Nova said going back to reading the comic book he had in his hands.

Ruby then nervously shifted her feet and started to play with her fingers as she worked up the courage to speak again.

"Say uhh... Nova?," Ruby asked.

He looked towards the silver eyed girl at the mention of his name.

"Can I.. ask you something?," She asked.

The dark teen nodded, motioning for her to continue as he listened.

"I never took you as the sort to like Comic books. Why the sudden interest in them? It just seems a little odd for you of all people to be interested in something like this is all, you know?," Ruby asked.

Nova closed his eyes and then opened them again before answering Ruby's inquiry.

"It's.. not so much that I like them, I just thought they sounded really interesting.  And I figured why not give reading them a try?," He answered.

He then continued.

"Is it a problem if I find them interesting?," Nova asked.

Ruby waved her hands in front of her face while slightly panicking. 

"No, no! That's completely fine for you to enjoy them. It... just surprised me that you would have an interest in things like that.," Ruby said.

Nova chuckled at this display of Ruby's.  It was cute in a way seeing her so panicked over something silly like this.

"You know, you really are an odd girl Ruby.," Nova said.

"Are you making fun of me?," she slightly pouted.

"No, not at all. It makes you.. unique.  It's certainly never boring whenever you're around.," Nova said.

"So... does that mean.. you and me.. are friends now?,"ruby asked.

"You dork, we're already friends.," Nova chuckled.

"We are?," She asked confused.

"Of course. Ever since we fought that criminal together. True, I thought you were abit... odd to say the least when we met again, but I never once considered you weird.," He told her.

" So, yes. Friends.," Nova said shaking her hand.

"I'll do you one better... Best Friends.," Ruby said.

Nova smirked.

"My, my you're a sly one. Aren't you, Rose?," Nova said as they both chuckled.

"Yeah, I try.," Ruby said smirking.

Nova then told Ruby that he didn't quite get some of what was happening in the comics he read, so she decided to educate him on the ins and outs of comic book reading as his "best" friend. Yang had a wide and sly smile as she watched the interaction between her sister and Nova. She could tell that Ruby really got along quite well with Nova.

Here was this handsome young man willing to be Ruby's friend and nothing more than that. However... one had to wonder how long would it be before Ruby started to view Nova as more than just a friend of hers. The teens exited the bookstore as Nova's team decided to hang out with team RWBY since they had nothing else to do today.

Streets of Vale

The gang began to walk again before Yang spoke up again. They come to a stop near the docks as the sounds of fog horns are heard.

"Remind me again why we're spending our Friday afternoon visiting the stupid docks?"Yang asked.

Ruby covers her nose at the smell coming from the docks in mild disgust.

"Ugh, they smell like fish!"Ruby said waving her hand in front of her nose.

"I've heard that students visiting from Vacuo will be arriving by ship today. And, as a representative of Beacon, I feel as though it is my solemn duty to welcome them to this fine kingdom!," said proudly.

Daikon rolls his eyes at this before he speaks up.

"Come on shne- I mean Weiss, we ALL know the real reason we're out here.," Daikon said clearing his throat.

As Weiss starts to walk away again, Blake then interjects.

"She wants to spy on them so she'll have the upper hand in the tournament.", Blake said flatly.

Weiss immediately scoffs at the thought.

" You can't prove that!"Weiss stammered. 

Daikon then smirked.

"Oh come on, princess you're not convincing anyone with that expression. Just admit it, Blake's right. Isn't she?," Daikon said smugly mocking her.

She hated it when Daikon called her that. Weiss wheeled around as she then started to bicker with him.

Everyone else just sweatdropped at this. It was kind of ridiculous watching them argue with each other.

"😅 Doesn't she realize he's intentionally saying stuff to rile her up?," Scarlett said.

"😅 Don't think she knows that, sister.," Aiko said.

" 😅 What am I even seeing right now?," Turuk thought aloud.

"😅 Shouldn't we.. you know, stop them?," Yang asked.

"😅 Nah they'll work it out.. 😅 I think?," Blake said unsure herself.

"😅 Starting to think that this is how they communicate now. Agreed everyone?," Nova said.

"😅 Agreed.," everyone else said.

Ruby snapped everyone out of the awkward situation when she turned and saw several windows of a nearby dust shop shattered with caution tape around them.

"Whoa." (the teens look at a shattered window down the street and a door full of yellow caution tape of the Vale Police Force before walking over to the detective in front, who is writing on his pad) "What happened here?"Ruby asked concerned.

"Robbery. Second Dust shop to be hit this week. This place is turning into a jungle."The first detective said (walks over to his partner)

"They left all the money again.", Detective 2 said.

Ruby turned her head after hearing this. The other teens do as well, this definitely had their attention.

"Huh?"Ruby asked confused.

"Yeah, just doesn't make a lick of sense. Who needs that much Dust?", Detective 1 said.

"I don't know, an army?", Detective 2 asked.

"You thinking the White Fang?", Detective 1 answered in question.

The 2nd Detective then removes his sunglasses  and answers back.

" Yeah, I'm thinking we don't get paid enough."Detective 2 said.

"Hmph! The White Fang." (crossing her arms and pointing her nose in the air with her eyes closed) "What an awful bunch of degenerates!"Weiss huffed.

This caused all of teens with tails to scowl at her. Scarlett spoke up.

"Easy Weiss. Watch what you-," Scarlett started to say but was interrupted.

"What's your problem?"Blake asked.

Weiss then turned to her and spoke up again.

" My problem? I simply don't care for the criminally insane."Weiss said obviously offended at the question. 

Blake answered immediately with a very quick and precise response. Meanwhile Nova and Turuk were trying to tell Weiss that the white fang was a very touchy subject for their sister, Blake. Alas to no avail.

"The White Fang is hardly a bunch of psychopaths." (crossing her arms, getting serious) "They're a collection of misguided Faunus."Blake explained.

"Misguided? They want to wipe Humanity off the face of the planet!"Weiss shot back.

" So then they're very misguided. Either way, it doesn't explain why they would rob a Dust shop in the middle of downtown Vale!"Blake snapped.

Ruby then spoke up and offered a suggestion to try and diffuse the growing tension between Weiss and Blake.

"Hmm... Blake's got a point. Besides, the police never caught that Torchwick guy I ran into a few months ago... Maybe it was him."Ruby offered.

"That still doesn't change the fact that the White Fang are a bunch of scum." (to Blake's growing anger) "Those Faunus only know how to lie, cheat, and steal."Weiss said stubbornly.

"Weiss... easy. You need to calm down. ," Scarlett said trying to dissuade her. 

Ruby then noticed both Nova's and Turuk's tails twitching in anger the longer this argument went on between Weiss and Blake. Even Daikon and Aiko's tails were twitching. If Weiss went any further, Scarlett knew one of the 4 tailed teens would snap at her.

"That's not necessarily true..."Yang said also trying to diffuse a growing argument.

All of a sudden they hear a sailor's voice call out from the docks.

"Hey, stop that Faunus!", Sailor 1 says chasing a boy with blonde hair and a matching monkey tail.

As the teens  overhears the cry for help and rush over to investigate, a Faunus with a golden monkey tail named Sun Wukong is seen running down the length of the boat and leaping on to the edge as the two sailors are about to apprehend him.

The boy looks back towards his pursuers.

"Thanks for the ride, guys! Haha!" Sun said laughing.

He jumps off and hits the dock running  before stopping at a lamppost, climbing it, and using his tail to hang from it, all while peeling a banana.

" You no-good stowaway!", Sailor 2 said.

"Hey! A no-good stowaway would've been caught! I'm a great stowaway!"Sun said(before he eats, one of the detectives down below throws a stone at him to get his attention).

" Hey! Get down from there this instant!"Detective 1 said.

Sun drops the banana peel on the detective's face, who growls in return. The monkey-like Faunus twirls up to crouch on the lamppost, laughs in amusement, and proceeds to leap off and run away from the detectives. As he runs past Team RWBY, he winks at an astonished Blake in slow motion before time speeds up again and he continues to be chased by the officers.

As all of the teens watch the faunus get further and further away, Yang then speaks up.

"Well, Weiss, you wanted to see the competition, and there it goes..."Yang says.

Weiss then holds up a finger as everyone follows her.

"Quick! We have to observe him!",Weiss says excitedly.

Weiss, Yang, Ruby, Nova, Turuk, Scarlett,  Aiko, and Daikon all give chase. Blake stands still, lost in thought, then comes back to reality and follows her friends. The teens round the next corner, but then Weiss bumps into someone and trips. She looks up only to see Sun jump on to a building and disappear from her view.

"No, he got away!",Weiss said slightly frustrated. 

Ruby looks underneath her fallen teammate and tries to make the situation a little less awkward as Weiss is literally on top of someone. However Yang beats her to it.

"Uhh... Weiss?" Yang said trying not to make the situation any more awkward(she points strangely at the girl underneath her teammate).

Weiss finally sees that she fell on a smiling girl, which startles the heiress and she hastily gets up.

" oh my I um... I am sorry for that. " Weiss said a little flustered.

" Sal-u-ta-tions!," the smiling girl said getting up.

Most of the teens had looks ranging from confused to concerned that this stranger was okay after Weiss ran her over.

"Um... hello," Ruby said a little concerned but also slightly sweat dropping at this.

"Are you... okay?"Yang asked concerned.

"I'm wonderful! Thank you for asking," The girl answered.

The teens look at each other bewildered for a moment, but then look back towards the girl on the ground.

"Do you... wanna get up?"Yang asked.

The girl thinks about it for a moment and then answers.

"Yes!" (she leaps back on her feet while the team steps back a little) "My name is Penny! It's a pleasure to meet you!"Penny says excitedly.

"Hi Penny. I'm Ruby,"Ruby says in gretting.

"I'm Nova," Nova said.

Turuk signals with his fingers before replying.

"Turuk, " he said.

"Scarlett Reinhardt... and this is my sister, Aiko Reinhardt," Scarlett says.

"H-Hello there," Aiko says shyly.

"Name's Daikon", Daikon said.

"I'm Weiss,"Weiss said.

" Blake.", Blake said in greeting.

"Are you sure you didn't hit your head?" (Blake hits her side) "Oh, I'm Yang.",Yang said.

" It's a pleasure to meet you!", She says  again.

The teens raise their eyebrows in confusion at this. Was she repeating phrases now?

"Uh... didn't you-," Scarlett started before Weiss finished her thought.

"You already said that.", Weiss said dryly.

The green eyed girl then smiles again as she realizes what Weiss was implying.

" So I did!", penny said.

"Well, sorry for running into you!", Weiss said in apology. 

They turn around and start walking away, continuing their search for leads on the white Fang.

"Take care, friend!", Ruby said.

They start to talk again once they get far enough away from a startled and surprised Penny. Ruby noticed the look on Nova's face, he obviously knew something about that girl they encountered.

"Nova?," Ruby asked.

Nova looked at Ruby and noticed the look she was giving him. He didn't particularly like seeing Ruby so worried, so he eased up.

"What is it, Ruby? What's wrong?," Nova asked her.

"I was going to ask you that. Do... you know something about Penny that we don't?," Ruby asked concerned.

It wasn't that he knew and it was more of a guess on his part that anything. So he wasn't sure how true it was and if he should tell Ruby. Then again, he did feel like he could trust her as his friend. He figured there was no harm in telling her, Ruby would never repeat what he said to others.

"Well... it's more of a guess than anything  so.. I can't be entirely sure of this just yet," Nova said before continuing. 

Ruby listened intently to his reasoning.

"I believe she may be an android," Nova said.

Ruby was confused, so she asked Nova what android was exactly.

"An.. android? What is that?," she asked.

"It's the fusion between man and machine into a living, breathing, being.... a robotic human if you will, "Nova explained.

"Oh. But you're not sure she is one yet?," Ruby asked.

Nova nodded. She was satisfied with this answer, that conversation told her all she needed to know.

They kept pace with the others as they noticed that they'd fallen behind everyone else.

"She was... weird...",Yang said.

Weiss looked to her right,clearly looking for someone as she spoke and voiced her opinions on the situation. 

"Now, where did that Faunus riff-raff run off to?", Weiss asked slightly frustrated.

Penny now was in front of a surprised Weiss, seemingly having come from nowhere.

" What did you call me?", the girl asked.

as Weiss looks back and forth in shock and Yang looks apologetic, yang speaks up again.

" Oh, I'm really sorry, I definitely didn't think you heard me!", Yang said apologetically.

Penny then points behind her as she shakes her head.

"No, not you." (walks through the group and leans her head down to Ruby) "You!",Penny says suddenly serious.

Ruby becomes a little nervous at this before getting a reassuring nod from Nova.

"Me? I-I don't know. I, what I, um, uh..."", Ruby said startled.

" You called me 'friend'! Am I really your friend?", Penny asked.

"Uhh..., " she starts to say as she then looks over her shoulder at her teammates.

Her teammates motion to deny her before Ruby speaks up again.

" Y-Yeah, sure! Why not?", Ruby says.

Her teammates comically and hilariously feint, much to the amusement of their other 4 friends who were trying to hold in their chuckles at this. Even Aiko was struggling to hold in her laughter at the situation. 

"Sen-sational! We can paint our nails, and try on clothes, and talk about cute boys!", Penny said excitedly.

Ruby silently groans at this as she speaks to Weiss, while brushing herself off.

" Oh, is this what it was like when you met me?", Ruby asked.

Weiss smirked as she answered dryly.

" No - she seems far more coordinated," Weiss answered dryly.

Yang then spoke up, trying to ease the situation.

" So... what are you doing in Vale?", Yang asked.

Penny smiled before answering again.

" I'm here to fight in the tournament,"she answered.

"Wait, you're fighting in the tournament?", Weiss asked surprised.

Penny salutes while answering Weiss's question.

" I'm combat ready!", Penny replied.

Weiss was still skeptical, so she continued.

" Forgive me, but you hardly look the part.", Weiss said.

" Says the girl wearing a dress.", Blake added.

"She isn't wrong you know, princess.," Daikon said obviously teasing her.

Weiss crosses her arms in defiance of this claim as she educates them that there is a difference. 

" It's a combat skirt!", Weiss says defensively.

Ruby then zooms over to Weiss's side as she holds out her hand.

"Yeah!," Ruby says as she low fives it.

She then zips back to be beside Nova immediately after.

Weiss then realizes something as she walks over to Penny and grabs her by the shoulders.

" If you're here for the tournament, does that mean you know that monkey-tailed... rapscallion?"Weiss asked.

This just soured the mood as all the teens from Nova's team became a little annoyed with that derogatory term, so much so that their tails begain to twitch in anger.

Seeing this, Ruby tried warning Weiss to watch what she was saying.

"Umm.. Weiss? You may want to-," Ruby started but was interrupted.

Penny was confused by this.

"The who...?", Penny asked confused.

Weiss then holds up a very poor drawing of the faunus boy they were chasing earlier.

" The filthy Faunus from the boat!", Weiss said.

Off screen Blake had enough and decided to speak up on the matter.

"Why do you keep saying that?!", Blake asked angrily.

Weiss turned her attention from Penny to Blake. She was confused as to why Blake would care what she called him.

" Huh?", Weiss asked slightly confused as to why Blake was so angry.

Blake angrily walked over towards Weiss to emphasize the point she was going to make.

"Stop calling him a rapscallion! Stop calling him a degenerate! He's a person!", Blake said angered.

Weiss then releases Penny and motions to several objects around her. Scarlett sees what is brewing and doesn't like where this conversation is going.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Would you like me to stop referring to the trash can as a trash can? Or this lamppost as a lamppost?", Weiss said also angered.

"Weiss, easy there. Calm down and just think about what your saying," Scarlett said trying to dissuade her.

Unfortunately,  this did not have the desired effect she hoped it would. Because weiss just kept going as the others from her team, but especially Nova and Turuk were getting angrier by the second the longer this conversation went on.

"Stop it!", Blake said almost yelling.

" Stop what? He clearly broke the law. Give him time; he'll probably join up with those other Faunus in the White Fang!", Weiss said back.

This was bad, the situation was going to end up ending with a harsh argument and someone would get hurt. All Scarlett could do was watch though, as she could do nothing to stop what happened next.

Blake angrily balled her hands into fists as she yelled at Weiss while growling.

"You ignorant little brat!", Blake yelled at her.

Weiss then looks offended at this. But when Blake begins to walk away, she follows her.

"How dare you talk to me like that! I am your teammate!", Weiss said offended.

Blake glares at her as she speaks.

"You are a judgmental little girl.", Blake said glaring at Weiss.

" What in the world makes you say that?", Weiss asks still not understanding why she was so angry.

" The mere fact that you would sort that Faunus boy with a terrorist group solely based on his species makes you just as much of a scoundrel as you believe him to be!", Blake snapped at her.

Yang then slides up to Ruby, Nova, and Turuk while looking very uncomfortable.

" Um, I think we should probably go...", Yang said still uncomfortable with the situation that was unfolding.

Penny then pops up behind Ruby smiling.

"Where are we going?", Penny asks.

" "So you admit it! The White Fang is just a radical group of terrorists!",Weiss said further trying to press her argument.

The two are continuing to argue as they near the docks, the others looking on uncomfortably. 

That's not what I meant, and you know it!", Blake snapped back.

This bickering back and forth between Weiss and Blake lasted the rest of the afternoon.  To the point, where Nova and his team had to depart to eventually return to their own dorm room.

Scarlett and Aiko had to leave to return to their team's dorm room so they went ahead first, followed shortly after by Turuk. Nova and Ruby chatted off to the side as the argument between Ruby's teammates continued.

"Quite a day, huh?," Nova asked.

Ruby looked down and sighed.

"Yeah... Thanks for staying, you didn't have to," Ruby said.

"Nonsense, I had to. Someone has to stop those two and.. it's not going well from the sound of things," Nova said.

Ruby couldn't help but to agree. They were all in team Rwby's dorm room now and it was nighttime now.

"I don't understand why this is causing such a problem!", Weiss argued.

" That is the problem!", Blake angrily said back.

Weiss got up from her bed angered again and spoke up.

" You realize you are defending an organization that hates Humanity, don't you? The Faunus of the White Fang are pure evil!", Weiss said.

Blake got to her feet too, also angered by just how stubborn Weiss was about this.

"There's no such thing as pure evil! Why do you think they hate Humanity so much? It's because of people like Cardin, people like you, that force the White Fang to take such drastic measures!", Blake angrily said.

"People like me?", Weiss asked offended.

Blake just scowled at this and proceeded to verbally lay in to Weiss.

"You're discriminatory!", she shouted.

" I'm a victim!" (as they stare each other down in silence, Weiss leans in close, leering as she speaks quietly) "You want to know why I despise the White Fang? Why I don't particularly trust the Faunus? (leaning against the bookshelf by the window) "It's because they've been at war with my family for years. War, as in actual bloodshed. My grandfather's company has had a target painted across its back for as long as I can remember. And ever since I was a child, I've watched family friends disappear; board members executed; an entire train car full of Dust, stolen. And every day, my father would come home, furious. And that made for a very difficult childhood.", Weiss said upset.

She then bangs her fist against the bookshelf.

Ruby went over to try and comfort her friend.

" Weiss, I-", Ruby started before Weiss turns away from her and walks towards Blake.

"No!You want to know why I despise the White Fang? It's because they're a bunch of liars, thieves, and murderers!", Weiss said.

Blake glares at her again before saying something she would soon regret ever saying at that moment.

" Well maybe we were just tired of being pushed around!", Blake shouted back.

Silence drops down on the scene again. A surprised Weiss backs away slowly, and Blake realizes her mistake as she looks around at her teammates.

She starts to back away as she realizes too late what she just said.

" I... I...", Blake trails off as she then quickly bolts out of the door.

"Blake, wait! Come back!", Ruby calls out to her and runs to the doorway.

Unfortunately, no one could catch her as she was long gone.

Nova clenches his fist and glares at Weiss, a very dangerous aura coming off of him as he does. Ruby sees this, and without thinking grabs Nova around the waist to keep him from seriously injuring weiss.

"Weiss! You knew that was a touchy subject for my sister and then you say that! Really?!," Nova snapped at the girl.  He continued.

"I thought you were a decent person.. guess I was wrong! You're just a discriminatory self centered brat! Do you know how much Blake must now be suffering because of that?! Well... DO YOU?!," Nova angrily said.

"Nova! Please, stop! I'm begging you, please! Weiss didn't know any better. She didn't know Blake would react that way," Ruby said pleading.

"Ruby I.. r.. rrghhh... No, you're right. It wasn't her fault," Nova said in realization.

He then walked forward and bowed his head towards Weiss in apology.

"Please you'll have to forgive me for my outburst Weiss. I was.... out of line to say thise things to you. I do hope you can forgive my bluntness towards you just then," Nova said.

Weiss waved her hands in front of her to dissuade him from bowing to her.

"No No, I should be the one to apologize. I was also out of line to say what I did to your sister. I apologize for that, Nova.," Weiss said.

Yang sat down on the bed during the whole thing and smiled when she could tell Weiss was genuine with her apology.

Nova looks down to see Ruby still holding onto his waist. It was more than a little awkward, so he got her attention by clearing his throat.

"Ahem! Say uh... Ruby I appreciate you stopping me from hurting Weiss. But uhh... how long were you planning to hold onto my waist there?," He said blushing slightly.

Ruby seemed to realize the position she had put both of them in and hastily let go of Nova as her face lit up like a tomato. She became red in the face out of embarrassment. 

"Holding onto your-," she trailed off before quickly letting go of Nova's waist.

She waved her hands in front of her face out of embarrassment.

"Gwah! I-uhh.. I-I'm s-s-sorry Nova! I didn't realize that I was still holding onto your waist. P-please forgive me! This is... so embarrassing!," she said with a red face.

Nova patted her head to calm her down.

"Don't worry about it. That was an honest mistake.," Nova said.

The two refocused on the situation at hand, but couldn't help but to subtly glance at each other the whole time. Yang noticed this and gained abit of a mischievous smile,  she'd approach her sister about this later though.

Daikon then walks over to Weiss and lightly bumps her on the head. He sighs in exasperation but then smiles at her.

"You really are an idiot, shnee. But... at least you realized your mistake, so there's hope for you yet. I know you've grown up being taught to hate the white Fang and associate all faunus with that organization... but now since you have several friends who are of the faunus race, that ain't gonna fly anymore. Ya hear, Weiss?," Daikon said as his stern face turned into a smile.

"I... understand.  And what do you mean by there's hope for me yet?!," Weiss said now cutely pouting at him.

Daikon just smirked before deciding to tease her some more.

"I don't know, you tell me Princess," He mocked.

"Ooh, why you!," Weiss said back pouting.

This of course earned a few chuckles from Yang, Nova, and Ruby as they were glad to see Weiss had learned from this. But now, they had to focus on finding their friend.

Blake runs outside and arrives at a statue of an armored man with a sword and a hooded woman wielding an axe on an outcropping, staring at the Beowolf under the stone heroes in particular.

She closes her eyes and slowly lifts her arms up to her bow and pulls the string to release the bow from her hair. She wipes away a tear away as the camera pulls up to reveal her Faunus ears. On the verge of crying, she becomes startled when she hears a voice above her.

" I knew you would look better without the bow.", Sun said.

She turns around and looks up to see Sun there. He signals for her to follow him, which she does.

The scene shifts to morning at Beacon. Ruby wakes up from her beauty sleep, yawning in the process. She looks over at Blake's empty bunk, and groans sadly.

Later Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Nova, Turuk, Daikon, Scarlett, and Aiko are all seen walking the streets of Vale searching for any sign of Blake.

"She's been gone all weekend...", Ruby said discouraged.

Nova smiled at Ruby in an effort to try and comfort her. He didn't like seeing Ruby this depressed, for some reason it bothered him when she wasn't her normal, upbeat, positive, and bubbly self.

"We just have to keep looking. We'll find her eventually Ruby," Nova said trying to encourage the silver eyed girl.

"Blake's a big girl, I'm sure she can handle herself!", Weiss said.

Daikon shot her a dangerous look that she didn't seem to notice at first. He was warning her without saying anything, hoping she would remember what they'd talked about a few days prior to this.

"Weiss, come on. She's one of our teammates.", Yang said.

" Is she? We all heard what she said!", Weiss said incredulously. 

Ruby went to say something but Daikon beat her to it.

"Weiss..," Daikon said dangerously.

Weiss seemed to stiffen up and adjust her stance at this.

"It doesn't matter if she's a faunus, a human, or something else entirely. Your team isn't an official team without her. So... genius, you need to find her!," Daikon said.

Yang nodded.

"Couldn't have said it better myself. And he's not wrong, weiss," Yang said.

"A member of the White Fang! Right underneath our noses!", Weiss said before quickly remembering what Daikon said thanks to the look he gave her.

" I-I mean it's possible that she isn't of course, " Weiss said.*nervous laughter*

"😅 Who knew Daikon could have that kind of an effect on Weiss.. Definitely didn't see that coming," Yang thought.

" I just hope she's okay...", Ruby said disheartened. 

Nova put an arm around her shoulder to comfort her. He smiled at her, which seemed to help raise her back to her normal self a bit.

"I'm sure she is Ruby. We'll find her, trust me," Nova said smiling.

Ruby smiled at this, she was glad Nova was helping them. He always seemed to know what to say to her when she was having a bad day or was feeling a little down.

"Yeah, you're right Nova. We'll find her soon, I know we will," Ruby said encouraged.

Elsewhere, Blake is sipping a cup of tea and sighing. She looks up at Sun sitting across from her, who holds his drink with his tail as his hand props his head up. He takes a sip when Blake puts her cup down.

"So, you want to know more about me...", She said looking him.

She looks at him intently as the screen fades to black when they begin talking again.

Hey guys, hope y'all enjoyed that chapter. Decided to add some extra stuff to make a little different. Hopefully it was enjoyable.

Did you catch the subtle pairing hints in the chapter? Everyone probably noticed the not-so-subtle Nova x Ruby moments in there, if you did.. that's good cuz that was my intent. I'm taking a little more time to develop their eventual romance than I did in the fanfiction.net story where I rushed it. As you can probably tell, Nova and Ruby will start out simply as friends at first. Volume 1 was just to more or less establish their friendship. The earliest I picture Ruby starting to develop romantic feelings for Nova is around chapter 7 of Volume II, which would be probably chapter 12 of this story... unless I cram 2 episodes into 1 chapter, then it may be earlier.

If it is earlier it'll be more developed this time around lol. Also their are at least 2 other pairings I'm hinting at within this story, can you guess which ones? I'll leave a poll with a multiple choice below:
