Titans Forever Pt. 2

You dodged another hit from Cassie. You returned the punch but she blocked it before throwing a round house kick which failed to land. She threw a second punch but you managed to catch it and use her momentum to toss her aside which caused her to fall to the ground.

Simulation: Defeated.

You smiled at the automated voice and walked over to Cassie. You offered a hand to help her up which she took. The lights died down and the area opened to reveal Star walking towards the both of you. You looked over to Cassie and smiled.

Star: Very good. I see the progress already.

You wiped the sweat off your brow and grinned. It has been a month since you joined the Titans and you have to say, you enjoyed it. The mission were whatever, nothing to write home about, but the fact that you had people your age around was a breath of fresh air. Every other day you would have a video call with Bruce and report on your progress and would almost always end up talking to the others. Tim and Jason were always down to talk about anything while Stephanie would give you updates, spilling the tea as she called it, about what was going on around the manor while Cassandra would sit next to her in silence.

When you weren't off on missions you were training in the morning and hanging around the tower in the afternoon. Star had this unique style of teaching where she would let you all teach each other based on things you may have seen that she didn't. Eyes on every side in a sense. You had fallen into a simple routine and actually enjoyed your time in the tower.

You would find yourself playing video games with Bart and Garfield, reading with Raven and Lilith, or watching some movies with Cassie and Virgil. You even found yourself exploring San Francisco with Star on a few occasions. Missions were mostly stopping the Hive from robbing some bank or some drug rings. Simple stuff that was just simple routine. You had made bonds with the other teens and respected Star as both a warrior and teacher. You could see why Dick had fallen for her.

You were also lucky enough to be one of the older teens. Star was the oldest at 26, Cassie was 18, Lilith, You, and Raven were 17, Garfield and Virgil were 16, and Bart is 15. It was almost like having younger siblings. Something you never had growing up as an only child.

Cassie: I though I would've gotten you on that kick.

You shrugged.

Y/N: I honestly just got lucky. You're still using too much power in your hits. I was able to throw you because of it. You should focus on your balance.

She took the advice to heart and the two of you followed Star to the others who were sitting on the benches in their gear.

Garfiled: How many times now does that make it?

Bart: 23 wins and 2 losses.

Raven: At least we're starting to understand his style. It's almost amazing that he can fight while thinking as fast as he does.

Lilith: Are you in his head again?

Raven nodded. While you weren't the most comfortable with two people in the same tower being able to read your mind, you gave her permission in order to monitor your thoughts and emotions during fights. If you were too invested or frustrated in a fight against someone like Mammoth, you would back off when she said and switch out with someone else. Your mind was your biggest weakness after all.

Lilith had explained it as you getting into your own head sometimes. Memories of your past creeping up when you began to doubt yourself. Sometimes you would sit in the garden with her after a mission and she would talk to you about things on your mind. You couldn't even lie to her forcing you to be open which was a choice you made in order to force yourself to confront these fears. She was truly a good, friend.
