Chapter 148, Cor-Caroli and Procyon

Without hesitation, the Chimeras reigned down and the Braves began the fight. Blasts of light, clashes of swords with flesh and the occasional sound of a dying Chimera fill the air.

Growth was soaring through the skies and eliminating all the Chimeras that stood before it while Arata, dressed in his Fleur Regalia slashed away at the Chimeras in front of him. His aim was the head of the two True Beasts before him but as he knew, if the tide of the battle changes, then they'll likely flee. So, he wants to get closer to them as quickly as possible before they try to.

"Titan!" Hiro slammed his new weapon, a large sword, hard down on the ground and left large cracks. "The thing I got from the Gift was a special skill called 'Titan'. It boosts my physical power alot."

"Ehh, mine's 'Tempest'." Touya said and Arata saw that his body was covered in a green wind. "It boosts my movement spead, defense and physical power. This wind even acts as a shield for me."

"Sylph!" They turned to Mayumi, who summoned the winds and blew away the Chimeras. "Mine is 'Sylph', itboosts the power of my spells and also causes winds to blow when casted."

"Tch. You all got nice skills." Mao said as he threw a kunai knife at the Chimera in front of him.

"What'd you get?" Moyu asked as she held her gun.

"'Tease', it apparently boosts my power if I'm surrounded by enemies." He answered as he threw another kunai at a Chimera. "You?"

"'Mad Scientist', it lets me develop all sorts of weapons and tools for Braves." She answered as she shot her gun.

"Eh, you guys are lucky, you already know what your Gifts are." Andrew said as he splashed the heads of the Chimeras before him.

"You don't know what yours is yet?" Alexis asked.

"Do you guys know what your's are?" He asked.

"No idea." Alistar stated.

"Same." Reinhardt followed.

"I asked Arata about it, he said that the Gifts awaken at the point when we need them the most." Ethan stated as he shielded against his enemies.

"Seems like it has something to do with the Braves' growth as well." Liam stated slamming hisnhammer and squashing the head of the Chimera before him.

"I can't say I know mine. Arata said it may be something we awaken when we reach a certain point." Zhen, who's knives pierce the many Chimeras before his face.

While they were fighting all the Chimeras, Arata was moving swiftly, trying to close the gap between him and Porycon and Cor-Caroli. The two, who were preoccupied with watching the fight ignored Arata's movement.

Before descending, they had a certain arguement with Sirius and left in rage. Now, the two are trying to lay waste to Arata and his team to prove that they are stronger than they appear.

"My Lady!" A melody begins to play in the sky and above head of everyone, a crest forms.

It was Ophelia, using her Gift and Ability as Songstress, she casts a spell that greatly boosts the power of the Braves.

Meanwhile, Karin, who was watching was excited, excited to see Arata's death which, she didn't know was something both Licht and Pierrot were trying to avoid. What Pierrot wants is Arata's power as the Le Fleur, with it, he could rewrite history and make the world his own.

Meanwhile, Addy and Eddy watched their master carfully keeping their eyes peeled fprbany signs of where the Gem of Melancholy, as Arata asked them, was.

"Raging Embers!" A silent flame, burning swiftly across the battlefield, Alistar's sword drawn to burn away the Chimeras before him.

Arata, now poised to drive his sword into the body of Cor-Caroli, jumps high into the sky and with any effort, slashes down hard on Cor-Caroli's back. Procyon flies back but Cor-Caroli falls to the ground. With a second swing of Arata's sword, the head of Cor-Caroli leaves his body and with that, a chance for revival.

Enraged, Procyon attacks Arata but he easioy dodges. Arata's decapitation of Cor-Caroli grants a great boost of moral for all the Braves fighting and they push forward, attacking the enemy.

The Canis Venatici now run rampant, the battlefield grows wild as their True Beast, the one who rules and orders them, has died.

Seeing it as an opportunity the Braves finish off every last one of the Canis Venatici and Canis Minor. Arata, whl was fighting with Procyon, was wielding two swords and as the two clashed in the air, the shock waves could be felt throughout the battlefield.

"This battle is already decided." Sirius says as he turns away from the portal. "Foolish brothers."

Sirius, along with the other True Beasts mourn the deaths of Cor-Caroli and Procyon who were beheaded by Arata. Their rage for the Le Fleur burns even greater as three more of their brethren are slain.

Meanwhile, back on earth, Arata, had ended his battle with Procyon in a flash, his sword raised and without hesitation, decapitates Procyon.

They regroup on the ground, when suddenly, the skies tear and a few dozen Chimeras arrive. They were about to engage when the Chimeras simply land but don't attack. They scoop up Cor-Caroli and Procyon's decapitated bodies and return to the Vortex.

"What do you think they plan to do with their bodies?" Theo asked but Arata remained silent.

With Cor-Caroli and Procyon gone, three Chimeras are removed from the battlefield. Canis Venatici, Canis Minor and Hercules are gone. Three of Eighty-eight Chimeras, not much but it is a step closer to their goals. With the last rays of the sun shining on them, Arata looks to the handful of stars that nkw shine in the night sky

"May your radiance be the radiance of hope." He says in a gentle voice before they all return to the school.

No one knew what Arata was thinking at the moment, but his face was grim and dark, not a face of a person who had just emerged victorious and woundless from a battle.
