My phone rang, it was mum calling and I hoped all was well at home, I was at work and didn't want any information that could affect my day or change my mood entirely, I had a double mind towards taking the call but then I decided to answer and tell her I'll call her after work hours. I picked up the call and mum stressed on the fact that she really needed to talk to me even after I told her I was at work and would call her later so I decided to excuse myself to the bathroom so I can hear and talk to her privately. On my way to the convenience I sighted and the pass by a young man with a face that seemed familiar, he looked like someone I knew but I really wasn't sure and was heading to make the call fast with mum and get back to my post before someone notices my absence for long.

Unfortunately mum complained that she was sick and has been thinking too much, she had gone for a medical check up at the hospital and she was told that her blood pressure was so high. I was unhappy about this, I felt so worried and troubled and I was so far from her, I had just resumed work, I had no pay yet and there was no way possible I could get a leave or permission to travel and go see my mum on the first day of work. I asked of Dad and she replied he was at work, the doctor had placed her on bed rest so she wasn't able to go to the store. I told her to take proper medication, rest well, drink enough water, eat healthy and think less. I gave her all the necessary medical advice I could remember at that time and told her all call her after work hours.

I got to my sit and calmed down to think about home again, I didn't like the news about mums health and I know how she can be when she's sick. No one else was home with her, Kenny's school was still in session. I was about to call Dad when a call came on the office intercom, it was Helen and she said the manager/CEO had concluded the board business meeting with the partners and ask to meet the new personal assistant immediately. I took a deep breath, stood up, calmed my nerves, took out a piece of face wipes and cleaned my face because I didn't want to appear looking untidy nor tensed. At this time a lot of questions popped up in my head, would she be strict or very demanding? I just prayed and hoped she's a nice person I thought aloud and after a few minutes I left my office and headed to the CEO's office.

I stopped by at Helen's post to Confirm that I was sure of where I was going and also stylishly see if she'll give me a hint or some advice, just anything that could be helpful before I walk into her office, I really was in my best act.

Unlike the other offices in the organization the chief executive officer's office had window blinds so there was privacy as you can't see what is going on in there unlike ours which has a see through glass. I knocked at the door and I heard come in, the voice sounded masculine, could it be a man? I thought to myself because even without knowing I had already concluded it's a woman, I was so convinced. I opened the door and with my head down I greeted.

Good day Sir was slowly uttered out of my lips and as I slowly took my head up to see who I just greeted I got the greatest shock, one I didn't see coming. Oh no it was the rude guy from the airport, could he be our chief executive officer? Like is he really the one in charge of this company or is there a mix up somewhere?

Oh no I was gonna be the personal assistant to someone who already had a poor first impression about me, he perceived me to be clumsy, hopefully he doesn't remember. He was so harsh to a total stranger so only God knows how he reacts to other people or his employees, all this and a lot more was ringing in my head.

I went through your credentials and saw how excellent your academic performance is but that's not why I'm hiring you, that's not what keeping you here, I'm giving you this job because of you're honesty and I admire that because I despise lies so thank God you told the truth because I never forget.
