Kurisutarumajishan- Auras and Flares

Flares and Auras

The world, Veindeljara, is a mirror image of yet another world, dubbed by its inhabitants as the world of "Umber" due to its similarity with the colour, as well as the act that it was a world that was seemingly covered in ash. The world was said to have the same amethyst crystals found in Veindeljara, but no other connections were made of the matter as the world seemed to have undergone rapid geological changes.

In Veindeljara, the term "Aura" refers to the presence of an individual, and usually is the main identifier of one's abilities. However, people can have multiple Auras at once, though there would always be one that would be dominant over the other. Auras vary in colour, and this are common identifiers of one's focus of aura.

For example, an individual can have a blue Aura, this is means that they have a hydro aura, or a power that can be used in conjunction with any other liquid. An individual having a red Aura, can have fire, or magmatic powers, being able to generate or control fire and or magma. The more an individual trains themselves according to their Aura can deepen their experience, thus creating techniques of their own, or manifesting new abilities unique to their own.

These manifestations are usually wide variations of existing abilities that due to the circumstance, have been modified through training, or have been specifically directed to by its owner.

The term "Flare", is an identifying factor of whether someone's Aura has reached the point of gaining an alternative "mode" or a new higher stage of their Aura. Coming back to the previous examples, those with a blue Aura can gain a Flare that grants them to also control ice, though, there are individuals who start with an Ice type Aura, they in turn, have a Flare that grants them control of water.

For those who have red Auras can gain Flares that changes the colour of their flames, with each being different than the other in terms of effect and burn levels. They can also gain the Flare that allows them to control wind, allowing them to create damages that far surpasses what they are capable of doing previously.

An individual can choose how to develop their Auras and gain different Flares, and is entirely dependent on the process of which they develop them. Individuals can also gain other Auras, however training their new power takes thrice longer to develop, and some can be gifted from the Deities that exist and govern order. However, due to the disappearance of the Deity Amelania, the Deity of Amethyst, those who don't have Auras and are praying to her were not able to receive them. In the case of these individuals, they can gain other Auras, however they take much longer than those who were born with Auras naturally.

In terms of number, one can have more than two Auras naturally, though, these cause bad side effects to the individual who have them, thus are wildly considered dangerous. The highest recorded individual to have carried multiple Auras, was a person named Liana Arkanight, a member of the Elite Knight group Titania who was in a constant quarrel with the Coalition of Empires, for their inability to control the inside problems of their Kingdoms. Liana Arkanight holds four Auras, Fire, Ice, Earth, Lightning, Stalwart, and Blood Drain. Her whereabouts, as well as the rest of Titania are unknown as of the events during the beginning of the war, as well as the current day.

It is to note as well that the Elite Knight group, Titania is an organization that welcomes those who have Auras over four into their ranks, creating a society where its congregation is built up entirely of individuals that exceed the limit of Auras normal people would have, that limit being two.

As for what happens with Auras after an individual has passed, they can be passed on to their offspring, if there are more than two siblings, the Aura of the parent who shows more power takes precedence in being shared among them, while the Auras of the parent who has less, or weaker power becomes a "sub-ability" to the dominating Aura. Though, more often than not, don't give as much on its own, and needs to be developed further as it is an individual Aura despite it being a secondary ability. Because of this, it's common that the second/sub- ability don't actually appear at all.

When it comes to those with multiple Auras, they can all manifest as colours beside that of the dominant Aura, thus creating a semi-visible multicoloured field that helps others identify each other's Auras. Identifying, or simply seeing this manifestation is as simple as focusing on their opponent's figure and "feeling out" their Aura. There are items that can hide one's aura, as well as an Aura itself that can hide its manifestation, and create a fake one.

These items usually use crystals from the Deities of Amethyst, Emerald, and Obsidian as common materials to use for Aura concealment. Coincidentally, they can also be materials to enhance one's Aura and Flare, as with the case of Natsuki, who seem to carry a specific Aura that grants her control of a modified Obsidian base. It may be due to the influences of her previous life or natural gravitations to her hobbies that this oddly specific Obsidian based Aura, has manifested as a black mist around her, as well as manifesting as armour, or any weapon of her choosing merely in a thought of it. Case in point, the Obsidian being able to respond according to her emotion.

The studies among Aura and Flare can be quite inhumane, though, it normally is in a societal perspective, those who follow certain styles as well as those who undergo personal training, aren't subjected to experimental kinds of growth and development when it comes to Auras and Flares. These, inhumane practices, are mostly done by Deities and outcast groups that have decided to modify themselves in the use of drugs, or chemicals or physical mechanations and transformations within their bodies, though, surprisingly doesn't have a large or commonly high death rate, suggesting the process was developed to the point that it has become a stable field of bodily alterations.

In contrast, the experiments observed and evaluated on by Deities have higher death rates according to unearthed records, with the recent ones being those recovered from the Veindeljarian lab of the Deity of Amethyst, who seem to have wanted the facility buried due to its state it has been found on by the Archeologist Jonathan, and his assistant Joseph. The most recent records of the facility's documents were a project identified as "Project Sorrow", which seems to focus on individuals who experience sorrow in a daily basis, if not, become a natural part of their life cycle.

The experiment dealt with approximately 20 subjects, with 4 of them being denied the chance of experimentation, and 6 of which were evaluated, but were denied under the grounds of being emotionally unstable. The project was left with 10 subjects in its inventory, all of which were apparently experimented on by the Deity herself to create a soldier to save Archaia. The world believed to be the homeworld of the Deities.

Of the 10 subjects, only two were found to be able to handle the experimentation, the process of which, is not found as of yet. According to the documentation found, it seemed that the Deity was found to have been experimenting against a higher being of sorts, the information being unclear due to apparent aging. The project was halted, and both subjects were fled to another world, possibly Umber due to the similarities in writing and hints throughout the documentations, though this remained as a speculation and was generally hidden among the archeologist themselves as well as those who ordered for the expedition.

The purpose of using sorrow as some sort of basis for the experiment is unclear, however it seems that they intended to meld it with Auras. Though, it is still in the realm of speculation once again.

With that said, this marks the end of this documentation about Auras and its disturbing processes of alterations. There are still many unknowns, the likes of which being, what happens if an individual is forced to accept an Aura, what happens to those who have Auras that absorb other Auras, and especially to the subjects of Project Sorrow, and the whereabouts of the two surviving units mentioned.

It is still unclear to me, however, it is a must that a documentation must be made of this journey. A documentation, to be made accordingly in the field.
