5. Thoughts.

Luckily the gate could draw in energy from the tiger body that was currently running around outside gathering treasures. Otherwise the orphanage would have already been swarmed by high level cultivators curious about the jade bed. Not to mention the cave would have been sucked dry of energy in an instant.

I plopped down on the bed and crossed my legs. The vortex of spiritual energy slammed into my body as I popped a pill into my mouth opening my pores once more.

Reciting the chant, the energy slammed into my body like a flood. My muscles flexed and bulged as the energy ran through my body pushing out impurities, strengthening my muscles, bones and organs, washing through my blood, before settling inside of my soul realm. Half of it going towards the little golden orb, the other have falling from the sky and raining on the spiritual energy pond.

"Might as well absorb the shadow devil as well." I raise my hand and a black lamp appears.

Focusing on it a large shadow like creature is dragged from inside the lamp and into my soul realm where it tries to struggle but is quickly subdued. A little black orb forms with the shadow devil in the center in my soul realm. Is has scythe like arms, ominous red eyes and a shadow like body that seems to be shifting.

This is an assasination based demon spirit, it can meld with shadows, move silently, and even shift into the void to avoid any kind of damage and move through solid objects.

However it has the down side of not being able to attack while in void form and slowing down movement speed to about 30%.

"Great for being like an unkillable Uchiha I remember." I mutter as I direct some of the soul energy to nourish the shadow devil which is now a part of my body.

With the high speed of the soul energy entering my body the shadow devil quickly burst through ranks. Soon as it hits silver rank I get information that the speed decrease is only to 40%, which is nice.

Usually you feed spirits your own cultivation which drops your cultivation by however much you fed the creature.

I'd rather just cut off a portion for the spirit, I can however have as many spirits as I want however it would drastically slow my cultivation down.

For now I'll just dump 50% of the spirit energy I gather into the spirit and let it catch up slowly.

It shouldn't take longer than 4 days now if I want to reach black gold rank. Well 4 nights as I wont cultivate during the day. I'll be spending that time to get used to my body and buying stuff at the market.

Once morning comes I've already risen up a rank and a half. Putting me at gold rank 2.

A quick chat with the matron and I'm off to go 'Play' for the day. Mostly its get breakfast, search around the stalls for goodies, look like a child and eat some candies, buy 'junk' items for dirt cheap. I dont want to cause too many butterfly effects, but I'm not passing up decent deals.

Honestly I'm not to interested with dealing with the sage emperor, so I will most likely let Nie Li handle that problem however I am very curious about what would happen if I stole the temporal demon spirit book before he transmigrates back, would it split off a timeline or would it change this timeline to the original before he goes after the safe emperor?

However once that thought entered my head it was stuck there. Like an annoying catchy tune.

"Wonder go and grab me the temporal demon spirt book." I tell the gate and feed it information on where to go mentally.

The tiger had mostly been just gathering plants the past couple of days.

Quick as a flash it sped off in the direction of the great desert temple.

Nie Li had knowledge of exactly where the temporal demon spirit book would be. So I had that same knowledge.

"Hmm I wonder how long he would last if I took most of the benefits he recieved early on?" I ponder. "Ah well i need some meat shield to destroy the sage emperor for me."

I'm far too lazy to do something like that.

However something pulls me from my thoughts.

"Anyone who can diagnose the wife of the city lord will receive a reward!" A man standing in a crown was shouting.

"Hmm city lords wife?" if I recall she was poisoned by Shen Hong, the current leader of the sacred family.

A reward would be nice though.

I'm sure there are quite a few items I could get my hands on in the city Lords vault.

Plus it would go against my better judgment to let someone die knowing I could save them. That would leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I purchase a small black cloak from one of the stands and have the cave form a sand like shell over my body disguising it.

I head off towards the city lords manor, of course getting some strange looks.

In front of the manor of a couple of local doctors and alchemists who are discussing the city lords wife.

I patiently wait my turn. However I get some sneers and jeers.

"What is a child doing here?"

"Maybe he is here for the reward?"

"This isn't some game little boy, head back home to mommy."

I just ignore them and wait my turn.

This however seems to irritate them, and they try to cause problem until a pressure drops on them of gold rank and they shut the fuck up.

"Monster!"

"Is that really a child?!"

"So strong!"

Some of the guards are even shocked.

Afterwards in left alone. Even if I showed off my cultivation, I'm disguised and can escape easily with wonder or the shadow devil.

Finally it's my turn and I walk I to the room seeing guards and a pale purple haired woman laying in a coma in the bed.
