Everyone gets a new chance to discover themselves, but it depends on circumstances while few circumstances locked me in dark, from the depth of darkness new circumstances taught me new lessons.

Depressing the fear in me, I took steps towards a new beginning but deep inside my own heart mocking me that whether I'm worthy enough or not to receive a new beginning!

The warmth I've missed approached me in a new way, but strangely I'm scared more to receive the warmth wholeheartedly.

I got dressed up like a noble girl, I'm from a commoner family, my father is an ordinary person still we led a happy life, though my clothes used to be pretty not as fancy clothes as the one I'm wearing currently.

I used to go to school by walk but now I'm in a carriage, do I really deserve all these? I don't from how long I'm lost in my thoughts, but a voice brought me back to my senses, "is anything troubling you dear?"

Gaining my senses back I've averted my gaze towards Mr. Ray, I can't lie to a man like him, the man who didn't cared about my reputation even though I got sold in a slave market, still he is not worried about accepting someone like as his niece, he neither know who I'm nor aware of my past, how can I remain silent even after observing everything?

Lowering my head, I mumbled, "you don't know anything about me apart from my name, neither you asked my surname nor about my family, the circumstances we have met were easy to misunderstand me, still instead of insulting or humiliating me.

You gave a respectful job to me, when I'm in a dilemma of whether I desrve it or not, you stepped forward and accepted me as your niece, I'm wearing a fancy dress and riding in a carriage, are you sure that I'm worthy of all these? Don't you think accepting me as your family might tarnish your reputation?"

I expressed my concern but all I heard is him laughing in return, does he think I'm joking? I'm upset, how can he take my emotions as a joke?

"I'm sorry if my actions hurts you" he apologized sincerely, I'm silent.

"This is not something you've to worry about dear" he explained, "people must be respected by the character, in that case your character is too good, and I'm worried that, do I deserve to get you as my niece? Do you think being my niece is okay for you?"

My eyes filled with tears, "how can you be this good? Now I feel blessed to be as your niece."

"Then, don't think about unnecessary things, just concentrate on how to fulfill your dream" he smiled genuinely, I smiled back at him, we reached the school of elites, as soon as I got down from the carriage I'm amused by its enormous beauty.

I've always heard about this school from my brother and father but never expected to see it in real, moreover I'm going to study in this same school this is amazing.

"You've to be more confident within yourself in order to survive here" Mr. Ray said casually but why do I feel like it's a warning for my survival here, he took me inside and asked me to stay there for a while before he went to speak with someone, after few minutes he came near me, "your classroom is in upstairs."

"Thank you sir" I thanked him politely, he raised his eyebrow making me gulp, "sorry, uncle" he chuckled and gave a envelope to me, "its about your class and the subjects you're going to study."

I smiled, after caressing my hair affectionately he left from there, I opened the envelope,

Subject analysis for 1st year students :

1)Basic history of the empires (Compulsory)

2)Study of basic Magic elements/Study of Aura (for sword users) (Elective) 3)Transformation(Elective)

4)Word Politics (Compulsory)

5)Study of poison Flora (basic) (Elective)

6) history of ancient curses (Compulsory)

Umm sounds interesting, I wish I might have a good time in this school atleast, the more steps I took towards the classroom the more my heart jumped out from my body in nervousness.

Holding back all the nervousness, I entered into the class and noticed a man standing, I greeted him politely.

"Can you introduce yourself dear?" Listen to his words, I glanced at everyone's curious filled eyes.

I remembered Mr. Ray's words, I've to be confident, so I introduced myself confidently, "I'm Selene Ray, glad to meet you all, and starting from today I'll be under your care."

"So you're the niece of Mr. Ray?" The man standing infront of me is too curious, I hummed calmly, he smiled, "oh dear! Why you're standing here still? Have your seat."

I smiled gently and checked the place to sit, everyone's face is bright none are looking at me with disgust, earlier none allowed me to sit with them, will it be same?

I've noticed a girl inviting me to sit beside her, I slowly went near her, she pulled me by holding my hand, "for what you're waiting? Don't you want to sit with me?"

"No" I shook my head by sitting beside her, "it's not like that, I'm just wondering whether you're okay with sitting with me or not."

She smiled, "I'm Anisha Debora, the daughter of Earl Sebastian, I'm glad to meet you, can we be friends?"

I'm stunned, "friends?" She looked disappointed, "don't you like me?"

I mumbled, "its not like that, I'm just asking is it okay for you to be my friend?" She hugged my hand, "ofcourse I like to be your friend."

I smiled happily, this is the first time someone became friends with me, she started saying about her likes and dislikes, I liked her carefree personality.

"Do you know about our next class?" She asked curiously, I shook my head as no, she huffed air, "oh Sele!"

"Sele?" I looked confused.

"Yes, Sele, it'll be your pet name, friends do call eachother with pet name, don't you know about it?" She looked towards me for an answer, I simply my shook my head as no once again, "umm I don't know anything about it as I've got a friend for the first time."

Giving a bright smile, she hugged me, "awww I'm so glad to be your first friend Sele" I smiled back, she started saying, "you're too innocent Sele, you know what, our next class is going to be on, ancient curses, one more interesting thing is we are going to have a combined class along with our seniors, isn't it too interesting?"

"Interesting, how?" I questioned innocently, she laughed hard, "don't you know how handsome our seniors are? I can't wait to see the perfect trio."

I looked confused, she sighed, "as expected I know you're unaware about perfect trio, they're known for handsomeness and intelligence, since from childhood they're friends."

"How interesting!" I exclaimed, "being friends since from childhood to till today means they've a quite strong bond."

"Oh God! You found their friendship interesting but not their handsomeness and intelligence" she giggled, I smiled calmly.

After sometimes, the professor announced about our next class, leaving the class, Anisha and I started moving towards another class.

Until then all are calm, out of a sudden all became enthusiastic and started running into class especially girls, "Anisha what's happening here?"

"I told you about perfect trio isn't it?" She asked, I nodded my head as yes.

"They're inside the class, for them only these girls are running" listening to her reply I hummed, and entered into the class slowly.

Anisha found a place for both of us to sit, and we sat together, "only for sometime we will be sitting together" she sighed.

"Why?" I'm scared, because she is the first person to approach me, if she doesn't want to be with me, will I get ended up alone once again!

"Oh my dear!" She laughed, "don't get scared, it's not that we are getting separated forever, we will be divided into teams for group project I've heard about it from others, so we might get paired up with someone as a team, for that we will get separated."

Listening to her explanation, I took a breathe in relief, that's when the professor announced, "silence please, I'm going to divide you group of students into two individual pair, so stay calm and hear everything patiently."

We became calm, the professor started announcing students, even Anisha got paired up with someone, I'm left alone now, but after hearing to the announcement of my name with a person, all became stunned and looked towards me.

Few are shocked while few are being extremely angry, but why, what I've done?

The professor said once again, "Selene Ray and Edmund Silas" who is this Edmund Silas, where I've to find him? I looked confused towards Anisha, she signaled me to go near the last row, with a relief smile I've went there and once again started looking for Anisha.

"Are you dumb or deaf?" I heard someone cursing, ufff who is cursing? I looked closely, "aren't you going to sit?" I heard him saying, within next minute I sat down, uff what a handsome man but why he is too arrogant?

I noticed him glaring at me but what I've done? Throughout the class neither he stopped nor the other girls stopped glaring at me, uff what I've to do now?

Finally the class is over, the professor said, "Edmund Silas and Selene Ray, you've to complete your project, regarding ancient curse of Medusa."

Saying that he left from there, coming to the man right beside me, with a sigh he left from there without even speaking further.

I ran towards Anisha, she started giggling, "you're so lucky so what you got paired up with crown prince Edmund Silas from the perfect trio" I'm shocked after hearing to her words, now I understood why all the girls glared at me.

Anyhow I should get rid of this horrible situation, if I don't want any troubles here, Anisha dragged me, "I'll show you, the locker room where we can store everything come."

I followed her calmly, Anisha showed my name on a box, I opened it as soon as I opened the box, I've screamed in fear as insects and bugs came out.

Anisha pulled me back while hugging, "it's okay Sele, the boxes must be old that's why these must be scrawling here, let's go from here, someone will clean this."

For a second my mind turned blank after seeing it, she took me to the canteen for relaxation, "I heard they serves best food here, so let's taste some of it."

I hummed, she went to bring the food while I'm waiting for her, but out of a sudden something fell on me, I looked around and understood someone spilled juice on me, "oh sorry, it happened by mistake, I hope you don't mind."

Why do I feel like it was happened in wanted? It's okay it's better if I don't react, "it's okay, mistakes happens, no need to apologize, it's just some juice nothing to worry."

The girl's face turned dark, did I say something wrong? I've noticed everyone glancing at me while gossiping, the girl left from there furiously.

Anisha cameback, "what happened Sele? Why everyone are gawking at you?" I've explained everything, she was fuming with anger, "why the hell you allowed someone to mess with you? You should've knocked them back, it's too bad to leave them like that."

I made her to sit, "it's okay, I'm fine, don't be angry" she placed the food infront of me, "I selected everything by myself, though these are good still I know the best food, next time I'll send you a tea party invitation."

Tea party invitation? Do people celebrate having tea also? Or is it a ritual for nobles? I can't ask her about it, let it be, I'll ask aunt or the sisters.

After having snacks, we are about to return to class but suddenly something fell on me from behind, its trash from a trash can I looked back and noticed few girls, "oh sorry Selene, I'm just trying to carry this smelly trashcan but my hands are slippery, will you forgive me?"

I'm calm, because I understood all these are happening in wanted but why? Now what I've to do? Anisha was fuming with anger but I signaled her to stay calm, this is the first time someone getting angry for me apart from my family, I don't know how to react at this situation.

That's when I heard a voice, "oh dear! Look at you" I don't know who is she, but she introduced herself, "I'm Rebecca the daughter of Duke Marinton."

I hummed, "glad to meet you but I need to go now, I'm sorry please excuse me."

Saying that I was about to go, she held my hand to stop, but I quickly retrieved my hand back, "please don't touch me" her eyes widened, I explained before making situation to go worst, "I didn't mean to but I'm stinking with foul smell, I don't want you to get affected by it."

She laughed, "follow me" I looked towards Anisha, but Rebecca said, "its okay I won't eat you come with me" leaving Anisha I followed Rebecca, she took me to the washroom, "I'll arrange some clothes, but first wash yourself."

I hummed and went inside, gladly the smell went easily and I completed washing my body, thankfully the trash didn't fell on my hair, I took the another dress and got dressed into it.

After coming out, I thanked her politely, "thank you so much" but she smirked while holding my throat, "it's too early to thank me, because I'm the one who ordered them to do that for you."

My eyes went wide in shock, "why you've done such a thing? Did I offend you?" She pressed hard on my throat, "ofcourse you did."

I didn't understood regarding what she is speaking, she continued saying, "who exactly you think about yourself? He is mine, the crown prince belongs to me, so just stay away from him, I could've done everything myself to ruin you but I don't want to tarnish my reputation so I made my people to do it, it's not to late to be away from him if you dont want enemity with me."

I cried out in pain, "please let go of me, I'm not interested in anyone, you don't have to worry about it, I'll never even look at him because I know about my place very well, its just decided by professor that's it."

She pushed me on the floor, "good, you're quite intelligent so understood the situation well, I hope you'll not disappoint me" saying that she left from there, I'm holding back my tears, I don't want to cry atleast not here.
