Quest 1: Fall

"WOW!" Grace said looking through a store. "So humans get to go through places like this all the time!" Grace says to jack. "Keep your voice down! You're supposed to be a human right now!" Jack tells her. "And we're only here to get stuff for the travel, I honestly don't know what you're so excited about.". "Oh come on! Being human can't be so bad!".

Jack give her a deadpan look and says "All it's given me is mental instability, sleep deprivation, and a love for whiskey.". Grace looks puzzled and says "What's whiskey?". Jack starts laughing and says "O- oh my god! HA HA! Please tell me you're joking?! Do you guys just, not have alcohol where you come from?!". She shakes her head and he says "I'm gonna take the time to show you what being human is one day!".

The two walk out of the store and he says "Okay, now we've just gotta get a flight and we'll be on our way to america. But we've gotta get the money for that first, so any ideas?". He looks and sees Grace staring at a small puddle of water, and continuously freeze and unfreeze it. "What?" She ask as he gets and idea. "Can you control the movement of water as well as ice?".

Jack puts on a dark blue top hat and stands on top of a fountain with a microphone and says "Hello hello! People of the town, my name is Jack and I have a little performance for you all!". People started to crowd around as he placed down his hat. He stepped back against the water fountain and when it turned on, all the water froze. "Introducing, the one, the only: GRACE EVEREST!".

Grace jumped up started to shape and move the water and ice. Slowly, even more people came over, and Jack had to get out a bucket after the hat got full. Once they were done, Jack started looking through their earnings and said "Okay, I'm 100% sure that this is more than enough for a flight, and THEN some! Have you seriously never done this before?!".

Grace looked at him and said "Yeah, pretty sure! But if we could make this much than getting to Fall should be a piece of-" *THUNDER* "cake....". The two looked up to see a lot of birds and animals passing by them. They then felt a rush of wind and see something forming. "Is that-". A tornado. The spiraling mass of wind and power starts heading towards a gas station.

When is collides not only is is the gas station blown up, but the tornado sets ablaze. "We need to go!" Jack says. He stops and Grace says "I need to help! Quick, let me see your hatchet!". He hands it to he and she waves her hand over the blade. She hands it back to him and she says "You see those fires? Throw your hatchet!". He throws it in that direction and when it makes contact a burst of frost puts out the flames.

"So how do I-". When he holds up his hand, the hatchet comes back and lands in his palm. "Awesome! Okay, can you handle the tornado?". Grace nods and they split up. She takes out her bow and starts shooting arrows covered in ice. On contact the tornado keeps picking them up, shrinking from the cold. "Grace, on your left!" Jack says. She turns around to see one of the humans running get hit by a ball of leaves and then changes.

The persons skin darkens to a oak color, and leaves cover their body. Brown roots turn their hands into weaponry and Grace looks shocked. "Grace, I got all the people out of here! I can handle the tornado, just keep those things busy!". A few more show up and she gets ready to face her first official enemy.

{Fall Wraith}

She starts sending arrows into each of them, making sure to aim for the vital organs. Once she brings them all down, they fade into crumpled up leaves. The tornado stops, and the two meet back up. "What on earth were those?! It's like the season corrupted them!". Grace confirms them and says "Wraiths. I've only heard stories of them. Now I'm kinda wishing they were just stories!".

The two put away their weapons and while they're walking away and surveying the destruction she says "The stories say that they only come out when a season is very weak, or is succumbing to their darkness! Which uh.... Might explain why these ones are here.". "So what, we just stop whatever season is doing this?" Jack ask slicing away some rocks.

"Yeah, and if these events are spreading from outside of Fall, then we need to hurry!" Grace says. Jack goes over to a car and says "Guess we'll have to 'borrow' a ride.".

Once they arrive to the airport he looks for a flight and says "Okay, so good news, and bad news.". Grace says "What's the good news?". Jack sighs and says "The good news is that its possible, but then there's the bad news.". Grace looks at him and says "I guess the weather is affecting air travel huh?". He nods and she stands up. "I have an idea, but we need to get out of public.".

The two move from watching eyes and she whistles. Frost howls and goes over too them. "We'll have to take the snow wolf express!" She says. Jack gets on his back and says "Does he know where he's going?". "No, but that's why I'm here!". They start riding and Frost goes towards the end of the flight pad. "Wait what?!" Jack says. Frost jumps, and using the humidity in the air, starts running on ice into the sky.

"Holy shit!" Jack says. They start going higher until they reach above they clouds and Grace says "Open your eyes.". He opens them and he sees the sun just above the clouds, and barely setting, mixing oranges, reds, and yellows. "THIS, is what it's like to be me, no staying on the ground, and actually enjoying life!".

The two go back down and Jack says "WOOOOOOOOOOOO!". The two land and he says "Is the ride over already?! That was amazing!". "It's nice that you think so, my father is always telling me that are powers and abilities should stay hidden from human eyes, but all I've see is even more reason to use them! Did you see what we did back there? We actually saved people and made a difference! And the best part? NO. CASUALTIES!".

Jack runs over to Frost and says "And you you amazing wolf! Who's a good boy?". Frost rolls over and jack scratches his belly. "While this is great and all, remember we still have to fix this mess!". The laughter stops and the tone gets more serious. "Yeah, do you know how much farther the Kingdom is? We're in America so we just need to find the right location." Jack says.

He then looks out in the distance and says "So hey, fall is windy right?". Grace nods and looks where he's looking to see a palace that looks more like a temple, stone columns and all.
