Chapter 12

A week later Kane was training with a bow getting used to the feel. He had gained basic training for it but he always found it helpful to get used to a weapon even with the systems cheats. He enjoyed hunting with it and made it his training.

He currently was aiming an arrow but before he shot his senses warned him of danger so he did not shoot. Then an axe flew towards the deer from behind some foliage when an axe flew towards the deer and latching in its head killing it. Kane looked at the newcomers who looked like big hunky green humanoids with tusks pointing out of their mouths. They were taller than a human and defiantly looked stronger. Kane knew these were Orcs. He was surprised though because the Orcs were not seen outside their territory unless hunting or attacking the Iron Rose Kingdom. Kane had learned from the bandits that there was a big tribe of them in the mountains near the Iron Rose Kingdom and would not be seen in the Lonely Highland Woods very often as the mountain had game to hunt. The only time you could see them is if they were attacking the kingdom or caravans heading to or from the kingdom. They would often fight with the Iron Rose Kingdom even sometimes go into a full-on war but eventually because of the wall that protected the kingdom the Orcs would be defeated and retreat back to their territory.

Kane watched as 4 Orcs came into the clearing to take the deer. Kane could hear them talking to each other in a language that sounded like a bunch of grunts, growls, and snorts. "BOT how much would it be for a language compression ability?" asked Kane. He realized that he probably should have bought this kind of ability ages ago as there are a lot of races in this world and it would be very useful.

[The Language Comprehension ability would be 200 points]

"It is expensive for me at this point in time but it is not as expensive as I would have thought for such a great ability."

[It is counted as a basic ability so that is why it is so cheap. It really should be more expensive but most people would probably not think of all the uses it could have. By the way, this ability only works with humanoid creatures and you would have to get a different ability to understand beasts or ancient languages]

"That's fine" Kane had 400 points after completing some hidden missions during the past week. He was planning on adding more to his Roman camp but that could wait. "Ok learn it," Kane said enthusiastically.

[Language Comprehension ability has been bought and learned by the Host]

"Great" Kane said. He did not know why these Orcs were here but decided to see if they could be useful. After all, he loved opportunities and these Orcs could possibly be a fantastic opportunity. He then decided to walk out of the foliage he was hiding in and directly approach the Orcs to try and talk with them.

"Hello, there friends!" said Kane confidently as he knew that the Orcs respected the strong. It was harder than it would have been because he wanted to laugh at the sounds that came from his mouth when speaking the Orcs language. He was like a human-pig now.

"WHO ARE YOU!?" asked the lead Orc who looked the strongest. "I am Kane" replied Kane. "I am a nomad warrior and I was wondering what a group of Orcs was doing so far from their tribe?"

"We were banished pink skin! How do you know our language?" asked the lead Orc. He was weary of this man and would usually have attacked but was surprised that a human would know his language.

"I know many languages," said Kane. "Why were you banished?" asked Kane. "We were weak and failed a task given to us," said the lead Orc. He was probably upset and if he still had some fight in him he probably would have tried to attack the human but he and his brothers were shamed and became less reckless due to their weakness.

Kane knew that these Orcs were perfect for him. "Would you like to be stronger? I can offer you a place in my future empire. I plan on conquering the world and you can join me" said Kane proudly. He needed to sound big in front of the Orcs.

"We may be weak pink skin but that does not mean we will serve some random human!" said one of the Orcs. He lifted his weapon but the lead Orc put his hand out to stop his friend. "I am in charge of my brothers. I may not be the strongest but I never give up in the face of a challenge so about this. I will fight you in single combat and if you can defeat me then we will serve you as long as we deem you strong enough to lead us." said the lead Orc. Kane had to admit that this Orc was smart and impressive. He always thought that Orcs were brainless fighting machines but today this Orc had proved him wrong.

"I accept your offer! You seem like an honorable warrior Orc and I would like to know of your name" said Kane. The Lead Orc looked at him and was happy with this human's complement. He wouldn't mind fighting for him if he was strong. It would give him a chance to regain his honor. "I am Xugar the fallen!" said Xugar. He and his brother used to have better titles but after being banished they were stripped of all honor and their titles were gone.

"That is a strong name and soon you will have a strong title to match it," said Kane. He understood a bit about Orc culture and knew that he would gain the Orc loyalty if he proved his strength and let the Orcs feel like true warriors again. He then activated his blood aura skill to show his prowess. The Orcs could feel the killing intent and shuddered a bit. Then with even more shock, they saw that Kane had taken a steal morning star out of thin air and was able to move it about like it was a twig. Xugar ready himself and raised his axe in the air. "Time to fight human! Let's see what you got!" Xugar said with what looked to be a smile but it was hard to tell with an orc. He was happy to feel like a true warrior again and could sense that Kane was as well He knew this would be a fun challenge. Kane was thinking the same thing as he and Xugar rushed to each other while they both were laughing. Both battle maniacs we already having fun and the fight hadn't even started. "Get ready to join my army greeny!" yelled Kane as he swung his weapon towards the Orc. A noise like thunder could be heard by all the nearby animals sending shivers down their spine.
