Will you marry me?

Older devil's face changed. The unpleasantness was evident on their faces hearing Wang Lei.

The meeting was boring? It made their blood boil with anger.

But after seeing the faces of their leaders, they could only swallow it.

It is not that they didn't want to cause trouble before Satans, but the fact that they didn't want to go against them, even if the scenario is unpleasant for them to see.

"Since everyone is ready, we shall start from left to right."

Being a Satan, how could Sirzech not know what was going in the minds of the devils? So, he tried to divert everyone's attention.

If not for that he was used to Wang Lei's attitude, even he might be angry after hearing him. But the truth was, he was aware that such meetings were not that entertaining. Not that he could do anything about it.

"I am Rias Gremory. My dream is to become the strongest team in the Ranking Games."

Doing a bow, Rias's voice echoed in the large Amphitheater. A simple and yet hard to achieve dream.

The older devils nodded in appreciation. A strong devil that persuades strength above all was always welcome. They praised her for her dream.

"Thank you for the encouragement," with a bow of her head, she took a step back and remained in her position again.

"I am Sairaorg Bael. My dream is to become Satan and defeat someone!"

His shout brought some mummers among devils. Saying that he will take Satan's position in front of Satan definitely required immense courage.

It was the same as saying that I'll be taking your position away from you in the future – if it was a typical Satan with a hot-blood personality, he might have ordered his execution. Such Kings were present in the past.

But Sairaorg didn't show any fear or cowardness. He stood straight and firm, not a single hint of fear or cowardness. His declaration was as straight as it could be.

Some older devils ridiculed his dream. He didn't have PoD, the inherited ability of the Bael Clan and one of the strongest magic among devils.

If not for his exploits and immense strength that he had achieved, many would have straightforwardly become angry at him for being presumptuous: daring to claim the seat of the strongest devil and their leader.

The three Satans smiled. Their eyes hold no malice or ridicule. In fact, they were happy to hear it and see his determination to achieve it.

"It is good that you hold such powerful conviction and determination towards your goal. We all hope that you achieve it in the near future and take the burden off our shoulders."

Sirzech replied with a small smile adorning his face. His charisma charmed others. For this reason, he was considered the most benevolent Satan.

Sairaorg didn't become complacent hearing them. He looked at Wang Lei with a fire burning his eyes but was shocked to see the same fire in Wang Lei's eyes.

He could feel it and tell it. Wang Lei wanted him to become strong. He wanted him to reach the heights he was currently at and defeat him.

"Thank you for your encouragement."

Doing the bow, his fist clenched tight and his resolve stronger than before, Sairaorg made his way back to his position and let other devils take their turn.

"I am Sona. My dream is to make a school where every devil can have the same treatment, despite their statuses and blood!"

Her dream sounded the most idiotic to devils as they started to murmur while some older devils didn't hold their ridicule for her.

"A school where pure-breeds will have the same status as a reincarnated devil? Such nonsense!"

"Has she lost her mind and pride as a Pure-Breed?"

"For a Pure-Breed to be considered the same as that of a Low-Class devil… ridiculous!"

In front of such ridicule, Sona didn't deter nor was she discouraged. She was aware of the absurdity of her dream among the devil society, but it was her dream and she would not back down from it.

Serafall's face converted into anger hearing the ridicules and laughter that was thrown at her sister. Her fist clenched tight seeing it. She barely controlled herself from freezing everyone to death.

"How laughable."

A simple and lazy voice was heard by everyone. It was low and yet everyone felt that the speaker was right next to their ears.

They all looked towards the one who said it and found a handsome man sitting there, beside Satans, while his eyes screamed that he was watching some clowns for entertainment.

The older devils who already were dissatisfied with him grabbed this opportunity to ridicule him with Sona. Some even tried to make him look like an idiot in front of Leiyan, and Ying'er.

"And who are you? Just because Satans allowed you to sit with them, did it make you arrogant?"

"With how you are a human, an inferior race, we can see your sympathy with her dream."

"Laughable? Indeed. If the only laughable thing then that would be her dream."

"For a human, you do know how to bark. Listen, kid, this is the meeting where the most prestigious and noblest devils attend. The fact that we've allowed you to sit there is enough, and you dare to speak against us? Do you want to die?"

The older devils didn't hold back. If not for Satans sitting here, they might even straight-up attack him.

They couldn't feel anything special from him. No power nor form of aura. He just looked like an ordinary person with a little bit of charm.

Of course, if he is here, sitting beside Satans, there might be something special about him. He might even be stronger than most people here.

But does that matter? It doesn't. As long as they don't attack, they could say anything to him. And if he attacked? Well, not only was it disrespectful to Satans but also was the same as making war with devils.

No sane person should do that… right?

"It seems like you've mistaken me," he said, "What I meant by laughable was your whole existence in this world."

"What did you say?!"

"You bastard! Do you want to die!?"

It was not long before the whole Amphitheater was filled with rage comments toward Wang Lei, who doesn't seem to care about it at all.

"Her dream is ridiculous? Then let me ask you all a question. Whose reality are you leaving? Was it here when you were born or did it fall from the sky and served to you like a dish? Or were the original Four Satans were mindless dolls and somehow, one way or the other, were able to build a devil society?"

Sona's hand was clenched tight as she looked towards Wang Lei, listening to him. She still remembered him saying that her dream was only a dream and not a reality. And the end product is always different from what one imagines.

But she was determined. She was also aware of the facts that Wang Lei made during their chess game and she didn't deny it.

She thought it was needed. Sona was not a stubborn person. If someone pointed out her mistake, she would listen to them and try to remove it - if it is valid. So she didn't deny Wang Lei's points that he made towards her dream. Instead, she accepted them and swore to improve them.

After all, dreaming is easy. Anyone can do that, even a child or a stupid person. But how many were able to make it a reality?

"Reality exists because people dream. If you are not dreaming, then how are you living? This place, this world, this whole reality – someone dreamed of it that's why it exists. If Original Satans never thought of it, never dreamed of it, then none of you would be leaving your life in luxury provided by your ancestors."

"Now let me ask you, you who are ridiculing her dreams – what right do you have when you, yourself, are living someone else's dream?" His eyes looked at everyone with disdain as he continued, "Would you ridicule your own ancestors too if they were here, in her place?"

The whole Amphitheater became silent. No one said anything as they looked down in shame.

What Wang Lei said was right. What rights did they have to ridicule someone when they themselves are living the dream of their ancestors?

Their ancestors dreamed of such a society where devils could rule and live their lives in luxury, isn't that why they have such a society?

What contribution did they have made to their society? Unlike them, Sona at least dreamed of providing and contributing to the devil's future.

"Everyone dreams differently, but the end result is always the same," Wang Lei sighed, 'Even if the path we take is different, the end will always collide.'

Even though some became quiet after hearing him, some stubborn ones still didn't back down. They were old devils and had their own pride, how could they let some random person trample on it?

So…

"Leaving someone else's dream? Humph! Ridicules! Isn't it the same as saying that we have no value and are just freeloading on someone else's reality?" An older devil said.

"Even though you are old, at least you have some brain to think. That is right. Your whole existence is useless and not needed. In fact, it would be great if you were to be killed," Wang Lei smiled, "It is good that you understand that your whole existence is of no value to the devil's society."

Everyone's eyes widened as they stared at Wang Lei in disbelief. Did he just say to a higher-class devil to commit suicide since he is useless? Wasn't it the same as slapping him on the face?

"You bastard! I will—"

"Enough!" Sirzech cut the devil before he said, "No one's dream should be ridiculed no matter how absurd and delusional it is. How about this? Why doesn't she prove her resolve and powers? We can see if she has the power to realize her dream."

Though dissatisfied, the older devil became quiet before glaring at Wang Lei who ignored him. He was quite disappointed that Sirzech interrupted him since his maid was almost ready to kill a devil or two.

It would have been fun… how regretful.

"How about his Sona? Why don't you prove to us that you have the power to claim such dreams?"

Sona looked towards Sirzech with determination and fire. She loudly said enough for everyone to hear her, "Please allow me to demonstrate my resolve!"

Sirzech nodded with a smile before he said, "Since she wants to prove to us her resolve, why don't we let her do it then? How about we hold a Ranking Game between everyone and see their progress?"

Small voices filled the Amphitheater as everyone discussed among themselves before, they all agreed.

"Since it is decided, we can pair them with other Youth Devils. And see all of their progress at the same time."

Everyone nodded at his decision. Not only would they be able to see their progress, but also their resolve towards their dreams.

After all, one needed power in the world to achieve anything. Without power, a dream will remain a dream and nothing else.

"Good. Since it is decided, I shall announce the end of the Youth Meeting. Everyone will be told about their opponents after some time."

"Wait!" Before anyone could leave, they all heard the voice of one of the Kings – Diodora!

He walked towards Rias before he grabbed Asia's hand and said with melancholy in his voice, "I-is that you, Asia? Is it really you?"

Everyone was confused by his outburst and looked at him with confusion. Even Asia was confused, evident by her face.

"It is me, Diodora. Have you forgotten? You saved me back when I was gravely injured! I wanted to meet you again but found out that the church had kicked you when I visited. I searched everywhere for you but could not find you. Who knew that fate would lead us to meet again?"

Rias frowned. According to his story, it was not hard to deduce that he was the devil that Asia saved. But she didn't like how he said the whole story. It gave her a creepy feeling.

"Em… I…"

Being a timid person, Asia didn't know how to respond to his enthusiastic approach.

"Stay away from her! Don't you see you are making her awkward!?"

Issei came forward and slapped Diadora's hand away from Asia's. Diodora's face changed into that of displeasure as he looked at Issei.

He looked towards Rias and said, "Control your pet Rias. Have you not taught him to not bark in front of others?"

Rias facial expression changed after hearing him. She glared at him with PoD leaking from her.

"Did you treat my peerage as the gathering of animals?"

Normally, if it was the Rias before meeting Wang Lei, she would never say such things. Even if she is dissatisfied with something, she would find a much more amicable approach instead of a rash one.

But after being trained by Wang Lei and being in contact with him for a long time, her attitude also seems to change a little. She became more direct with her actions.

If she is dissatisfied with something, she would outwardly say it; instead of hiding it.

Diadora's body tensed as he felt thick PoD being released from Rias, but there was no fear on his face.

"Are you trying to start a fight here, Rias? Provoking me, should I consider it a challenge?"

He was not afraid of Rias, of course. He said it to make sure that it seemed like it was Rias that started the fight and not him.

After all, to most of the devils, their peerage members were indeed like pets to them. So, even if he called Rias's peerage her pets, it would not sound wrong to most devils.

But with Rias releasing her PoD and trying to intimidate Diodora, in the worst case, it can be considered the same as challenging someone.

Rias raised a brow and took her aura back. She didn't want to create a scene here.

Diadora, seeing it, his eyes flashed with a mysterious light before he looked back at Asia with 'tenderness' in his eyes.

"Please. Since the day you've saved me, I've fallen in love with you Asia. I'd given up after not finding you for such a long time, but to think we had the blessing of Satan that it would lead you to me."

The more he said, the more goosebumps Issei felt. Even if he was a pervert, he still held the power of Ddraig in him that slowly gave him a dragon attribute.

With an increase in his physique, it also raised his perception and instinct a lot. It was no surprise that he could feel his instinct ringing when he heard Diodora.

"Since we already have the blessing of Lucifer, why don't we tie the knot? Asia, my love, will you marry me?"

As he finished his creepy monologue, he 'sincerely' looked at Asia and extended his hand towards her.

Asia took one scared step away from him. Her eyes darted here and there before landing at Wang Lei, pleading for his help.

How could she accept his proposal? Leaving the fact that he sounded creepy, she had already devoted herself to His Holiness a.k.a Wang Lei.

Since the time he saved her and sheltered her, Asia has promised herself to devote her entire being to Wang Lei. He was God in her eyes after all.

"Well, isn't it interesting?"

Diadora flinched. He knows whose voice it is. And whenever this person spoke, it was the start of something troublesome.

He stiffly looked towards Wang Lei but his face never lost its smile.

"What do you mean?"

Wang Lei smirked. Even his memories about the story have become hazy and blurry, it is still hard to forget anything related to any form of girl that is waifu material.

After Diodora's passionate speech, obviously, his mind flashed with the memories of the past. He looked at him and said,

"No, nothing is wrong. It is just that, the girl you are proposing is my [Pawn]. Isn't it normal for me to intervene if you are asking the hand of my [Pawn] in marriage?"

His voice sounds so righteous that people might think that he is a sage. Well, with his physique and cheating, it might not be wrong to call him a sage.

Hearing him, Diodora's eyes glinted before he went back to his smiling face.

"I see. Indeed. If that's the case, it is normal for the King to worry about their peerage member," ignoring the exclamation from the surrounding devils, talking about how a human can have a peerage, Diodora continued, "Then… are you willing to exchange her with one of my [Pawn]?"

Suddenly, the whole hall becomes silent as a huge amount of pressure is dropped from Rias. Even Kiba, Akeno, Issei, and Koneko were releasing killing intent towards Diodora. But he ignored it all and looked at Wang Lei.

If his guess is right, then Asia, even if it is Wang Lei's [Pawn], must have joined Rias peerage because they are in the same school.

And it did make sense. If Rias is also Wang Lei's [Pawn], he was not surprised that she had Asia, another of Wang Lei's [Pawn], under her.

But he made a mistake, and that was even thinking of comparing his pieces with Wang Lei's pieces.

"Hahaha!" Wang Lei laughed loudly. His face filled with amusement that he couldn't control his laughter after hearing Diodora's remark of exchanging the pieces.

Diodora frowned, seeing him laughing like that.

"What is so funny?" He asked.

"Funny? Sorry, sorry. I lost myself there," controlling his laughter, Wang Lei looked at him, "The last time someone said something like this was that… ugh… who was it again? That dark-something dude who wanted to give me immortality."

Wang Lei talked to himself, remembering his past when… ugh… that dark-something dude promised to give him immortality in return for his girls.

What happened to him? Obviously, he was devoured by Wang Lei, becoming his food.

Sirzech, Serafall, and Ajuka didn't say anything. Not that they didn't want to, but even they were dissatisfied with Diodora's remark, especially, Sirzech.

Not only the person in the talk was his sister's [Bishop], it was Wang Lei's [Pawn]. Even if there are small skirmishes of ideas and ideologies between them, they definitely didn't hate each other.

All four Satans have treated Wang Lei as their equal and even respected him for his courage and strength. Asking for Wang Lei's servant, wasn't it the same as asking for theirs?

"You want me to exchange Asia with your [Pawn], right?" Wang Lei asked with a smirk, "But I don't like giving those that are precious to me without a fight."

Diodora's face stiffened before he remembered something and smiled.

"Then how about we duel each other? The winner will have his wish completed."

Different devils started to murmur with each other. They didn't interfere with them. Why? Because Satans were quiet. It meant that they didn't mind what was going on currently. So other devils opted to stay quiet and watch the show quietly.

Sirzech and others frowned. They were not worried about Wang Lei, but Diodora. They all wondered where his courage was coming from.

Grayfia had the same stoic look, but her eyes that were coldly staring at Diodora said it all that she wouldn't mind killing him right there.

The most chill people might be Leiyan and Ying'er. They considered what was happening in front of them nothing but a performance.

"Fight with you?" Wang Lei shook his head, "I would love to, but sadly, I am not much of a fighter. I am just an ordinary cafe owner, how can I fight with a devil? I don't have a death wish."

Everyone's eyes twitched after hearing him. Ordinary cafe owner? As if they would believe something like this.

It was the same with Diodora. He looked at him and asked.

"Then how do you want to resolve this? If you don't want to fight, are you going to send one of your maids? I don't mind that either."

Wang Lei raised his brow. He really wondered where this little guy's confidence came from. Was it Ophis snake? Obviously, as a Primordial Dragon, he could feel it. But he has to say, this guy was really funny.

"Leave it," Wang Lei waved his sleeve, "If I sent any of my maids, it would be the same as bullying you. What face will I have left to show others then? How about this? Since you want my [Pawn], let her fight instead of me. After all, this matter is of her concern."

"Master!?" "His Holiness…?" "Wang Lei?"

Everyone had a different reaction. Rias was startled. Asia was confused while Satans looked at him weirdly.

Not for a single second they've thought that Wang Lei would say something unreasonable. After all, no one knew better than them about how partial Wang Lei was towards his people.

As long as they didn't commit a crime willingly, even if a God did something to them, Wang Lei would not sit idle. In fact, he wouldn't even mind starting a war with that God.

So they didn't think Wang Lei would willingly put Asia in a tough spot. He should be aware that she is just a healer and fighting is not her forte, but he still said that. Assumingly, he should have a plan?

"Fight with Asia?"

Even Diodora was surprised. He looked disbelieving for a second, not understanding the intent behind such a decision. He even doubted if Asia was not a healer and had some form of offensive power.

But he shook his head. He has completely searched for her information. And she was definitely a healer.

"Are you sure? Asia is just a healer," he questioned.

Wang Lei not only didn't deny, but he tenderly looked at Asia, "Asia… don't you want to do it yourself? Or are you willing to marry him?"

Asia hurriedly shook her head.

"No! I-I don't want to marry him!" Her face flushed before she said, "B-but… I am not that strong…"

Everyone understood what she was trying to say. She is not strong enough to fight a devil one-on-one.

"Do you think of yourself as weak?" Wang Lei asked gently.

Asia didn't look up from the floor but it was obviously what her answer was. She definitely didn't think of herself as a strong person. In fact, he always wanted to be one but her Sacred Gear is of support type and not an offensive one.

Of course, she can learn magic for offensive power. But that would reduce the time she needs to spend learning her Sacred Gear. She has one brain after all.

"Asia," Wang Lei called her and said, "You are my [Pawn]. Why do you think you are weak?"

Yes. She was Wang Lei's [Pawn]. And as Wang Lei's [Pawn], she should have received a part of his powers. It could be anything, an immunity, a physique, a bloodline.

But every single one was powerful in its own right. After all, Wang Lei was a Primordial. Anything derived from him was powerful beyond belief.

Asia becomes startled and looks at Wang Lei's eyes. She could see only trust and nothing else. She could tell that Wang Lei believed that she could defeat Diodora. It made her confused for a second.

Where was his confidence coming from? From the fact that she was his [Pawn]? But even then she shouldn't be able to leap her strength at the level of a High-Class devil.

But she forgets that it was Wang Lei, and if he wanted, his every word could become reality.

"You don't have to worry about anything," Wang Lei softly said, "Just believe in yourself and the light you follow. During a fight, it doesn't matter how strong you are or how strong your opponent is. But how strong your Will is. With enough Will, you can even turn the sky upside down, let alone an insignificant devil."

Diodora's face changed when he heard Wang Lei calling him insignificant, but Wang Lei ignored him and passed his decree.

"Believe and punch him. <Your punch, as long as you believe in yourself, will kill your opponent.>"

Without anyone knowing, the Laws of the World bent and made his decree absolute. Now, if Asia believed in herself and punched any, she would really end up killing them.

Of course, it was not permanent but only for the dual. He didn't have any plan of creating a cute version of One Punch Man.

Asia became silent before she looked at Wang Lei firmly. Her eyes were not seeing him, but the light he was realizing.

Yes. She shouldn't doubt herself. She should believe in herself and the light she follows, the light she prays to. She nodded seriously and said.

"Yes. I'll fight, Your Holiness!"

Hmmm. I know... don't say...
