Chapter 17 ‘Mike?’

I looked around to see if there was anyone around. I slowly opened the door so no one would hear me, a long stone staircase led its way into darkness. I took a quick peek around me again, no one to be seen. I closed the door and walked with the feeling that my heart was flying through my chest. I walked down the cold stone stairs, it stopped with an old rickety wooden door with cracks in it. I opened the door and my heart stopped.

I saw a big cage containing someone.

The person turned around and I saw his face, it was Mike!

"Did you miss me?" He said sarcastically.

¨ Mike!? ¨ He looked dried out, his eyes were dark red.

"What are you doing here?" He asked, irritated.

"I..I .. is none of your business!" I shouted.

"Would you do something for me?" And he looked at me with big puppy eyes.

"No I will not release you." He looked irritated.

"No, I know that I will not get out of here." He said grumpy.

"Then what?" I asked irritably. He put on his puppy eyes again.

"I haven't eaten in a long time, could you be a good girl and donate some blood to me?" He asked like he had done nothing wrong.

"No I'm not going to give you blood!" His puppy eyes went away and changed to the eyes of the devil.

"Bye Mike!" And I walked away because I saw another space behind him that attracted me.

"No Aurora please ... I am starving here and you smell so good. " He pleaded.

"Sorry but that is not my problem." And I walked past his cage to the large room behind and I found it quite scary there.

"Going there will kill you." He said mean and joking.

"I will decide for myself thanks." I walked through the narrow space and arrived at a steel door with blood on it, it seems. I opened the door and there were all cages with some people in there all vampires I assume they all looked dried out like Mike the one more than the other.

They all looked at me at once in a flash, okay this is scary all dark red eyes looking at me.

"Blood ..." they muttered

"Blood ..." They seemed like zombies all nagging for brains, but instead of brains, blood.

"I have to get out of here!" I said softly and turned around, but my arm was grabbed by someone from a cage. I tried to get my arm free but I didn't succeed.

"Blood ..." she mumbled. She has black hair and dark red eyes.

"Please let me go." I begged.

"Blood ..." she said again. I tried to tear my arm free again, but her grip was like stone, it didn't move.

"Let me go." I begged again and she pulled me towards her. I started screaming.

"Hungry .. blood .." she said.

"L.. let go of me!" I tried to say defensively and confidently. She still pulled my arm towards her and she looked at it very hungry. I was squealing and begging her to let go of me and she just ignored me completely.

Her fangs came out and started biting my wrists. I was struggling and screaming, but nothing helped. It started to hurt very much. She did not drink calmly no she drank very greedily.

"LET ME GO!" I screamed very loud.

"Let me go!" I continued.

She kept on drinking and drinking her drinking speed accelerated, itt hurt very much. I felt weak and I couldn't stand on my own legs, they went limp and they started to shake. I fell down, but she pulled me up so she could still drink.

The stelen door opened with a bang.

It was my father.

He pulled my wrist from her mouth. He picked me up and put me in a different place where there were more space.

"Aurora?" He begged.

"Dad.." I felt very lightheaded.

"Aurora, you need to be healed." He said gently.

"Okay" I murmured.

"But.. I can't do that only Jayden can do that."

"No, I don't need to see him again. It has been four weeks since Jayden left me and he hasn't spoken to me! He's probably rather let me die." I said defensively.

"No" He said angrily, he pulled out his phone and probably typed in Jayden's number. But I had wasted so much energie on talking that I had felt very weak, so weak that I could no longer hold my eyes open.

"Dad.." I said pleading, but he ignored me.

"Jayden! You must come here! Right now!"

" I don't care Jayden, it is about Aurora! She is bitten by someone from the basement!"

"Dad?"

"By fucking Bodil!"

"Dad ..." And I could no longer hold my eyes.

POV Vincent

"Dad?" I heard Aurora say weak, but Jayden is the only one who can save her.

"By whom!?" Jayden asked aggressively.

"By fucking Bodil!"

"I fucking told you to put Bodil in a special holding cell!"

Bodil just when she became a vampire ingested the deadliest poison of the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and now she has the power to kill humans and vampires with it, but she can only kill vampires who just became one or is very weak. I don't know if Aurora has ingested the poison, luckily she hasn't passed out yet, but then suddenly she becomes very white and got a cold body temperature.

"Dad ..." Aurora said and she closed her eyes.

"Aurora!" I let the phone fall and I accelerated towards her so she wouldn't fall to the ground.

"What is going on, Vincent?" I heard Jayden say worried.

"VINCENT!" I heard him screaming through the phone.

"She got the poison." I said softly. I heard Jayden hung up the phone, he is on his way here, hopefully he will be on time.

I picked her up and I layed her slowly on her bed. She's so cold and she's so white, her heart barely beats.

"Please Aurora hold on." I begged.

I heard Jayden coming and he came in at an unusual speed even for a vampire!

His eyes are very dark. He looked very concerned, he looked at me for a second and looked straight at Aurora.

"Fuck!" He walked over to Aurora..

I left the room and looked at Aurora and Jayden for a moment. Jayden stroked her white, cold cheeks.

I closed the door and hoped it will be okay.

POV Jayden

I walked to her, she looked so pale, she looked like a corpse. I stroked her cheeks. They were so cold. I bit my hand I didn't have to drink her blood. I put my hand over her mouth. I couldn't get my blood inside and her heart beat went slower and slower…

"Come on Aurora.. come on!" I still got nothing and she did not respond to anything.

"Aurora ... I ... I .. can't live without you.." I said soft. I still couldn't get anything in. "Damn Aurora don't do this to me!" I pushed my hand harder over her mouth and still nothing came in.

"Aurora!" I broke into billions of pieces.

¨Aurora ... ¨ I can't ... not without her!

I can't give up!

I kept and kept forcing, but nothing came in .. my wrist healed I bit it very hard and tore the skin almost off blood flowed from my wrist I held it in front of Aurora's mouth again hoping that something got in.

I gave her a hug and kept repeating 'Come on, Aurora… I can't live without you… come on…' I held her close to me. I hate myself! I've abandoned her, I haven't been able to say goodbye, this is MY fault I haven't been able to watch her ... stop her from doing this.

Aurora is still very pale, she is not breathing and I can't hear a heartbeat ... she .. she .. is dead ...

NO this can't be true!

I pressed her closer and tighter.

"Come on Aurora ... Please ... " I begged.

I moved her slowly, I gave her a kiss on the cheek, her ice cold cheek.

"Come on ..." I started to cry the tears rolled down my cheeks to Aurora my tears rolled over her.

¨ Aurora ... ¨ I said soft

"Come on ..."

I stroked her cheeks and then I ran my hands over her hair.

This is it then, Aurora is dead. I gave her a kiss on the forehead, tears flew like bullets down my cheeks.

I put her on the bed and I let her go. I was hyperventilating and crying and I fell down on the floor.

I was crying and crying but all of a sudden I heard something, a heartbeat! She started breathing, her skin got slowly her normal color again I stroked her cheeks and it got back to normal body temperature.

SHE LIVES! I gave her a hug and her eyes slowly opened.

"Jayden?" She said with her beautiful voice.

"Aurora!" I held her close.

I am so happy to hear her beautiful voice!
