Brian's POV

I noticed her cheeks turn red because of what I said and I was about to tease her again when the door opened and Morgan walked in. I was not surprised at seeing her but I'm not happy on seeing her.

I was about to say something when I noticed her eyes turn dark with fury and she rushed at Candy who looked extremely surprised to see her. She pulled Candy up from the wheelchair and gave her a hard push with the intent of hurting her but I acted in time and held Candy before she could fall.

I pulled her to sit on the bed beside me. I worriedly checked her all over to ensure she wasn't hurt before throwing a dreadful glare towards Morgan who immediately flinched on seeing how angry I am.

"What did you do that for? Why did you attack her in my presence" I paused and continued staring at her with cold eyes "Do you have a death wish?". "I saw the way this slut was flirting with you babe and I couldn't take it. Please support me and let's teach her a lesson". She said coaxing me with her tone.

Candy was about to serve her a cup of tea but I held her back and said "Morgan, to avoid incurring my wrath on you, leave here now!" I said yelling the last sentence.

She teared up immediately and said "Why are you doing this to me babe. I'm the one you love but I'm the one you're scolding. I am the one you're asking to leave". She continued wailing loudly "What has this witch done to you for you to treat me in this manner".

Anybody who happens to pass by at this moment will think I promised her love and dumped her because she sounded desperate. I scoffed and simply said "I don't love you Morgan and I never will. So if you still value this relationship, get out of this room now!".

She gave Candy an evil glare before she ran out of the room. I sighed softly and stared at Candy with soft eyes. "Are you okay?" She looked away from me and nodded.

I noticed she was uneasy and let go off her hand which I was still holding after I caught her. She went back to the wheelchair and sat down. There was an awkward moment of silence before I managed to say "I'm sorry for how Morgan treated you" and she simply nodded her head.

I knew a lot was going through her head and was curious and was about to ask her when the nurse who helped her before came in and told us it was time she went back to her room and get some rest.

I nodded, smiled at her and bade her goodbye but she only forced a little smile on her face and said bye in a tiny voice. I was not happy at the slight coldness she was showing me but I didn't broad over it.

I took my phone and made a quick phone call. Immediately the receiver picked I said with a bit of coldness and authority in my tone "Start the investigation on what happened and get me a name before nightfall tomorrow".

He was about to say something from the other side of the line but I ended the call abruptly and laid down on my pillow with the intent of getting some sleep.

Dear readers ❤️, I'm not worthy to speak to you after pausing the progress of this story and so I'm so sorry🥺. I shouldn't have done but I had to concentrate on my exams and it just ended. Don't worry I promise by tomorrow to release five chapters in a row to appease you guys🙏. Don't forget I purple y'all 💜...
