Chapter 9

Grade B: eliminate a bat daemon that wreak havoc in Brooklyn. A bat shaped daemon sighted flying around an abandoned factory in Brooklyn central area. It has wreaked havoc by controlling local animal to attack the resident in the area. The bat observed using a voice-based attack, so, task taker advised to prepare for a group fight and an earplug. The people who defeat it will be paid by AOA $60000. I decided to take on this task, because of the location, and with it having almost the same reward as the spiders I defeated before, it would be a piece of cake.

"So, Upsilon, how do I receive this task?" [It's an easy task, lad, you just point my back to your laptop screen.] I follow his instruction and a confirmation panel appear from Upsilon screen, then I press yes. "Yawn," I look at my laptop clock. (09.00 Pm, I better go to bed and sleep cause today have been an exhausting day.) As I sleep soundly at home on another side of town in Brooklyn, a homeless man stand in front of an animal shelter muttering to himself. "Grrr, I will save you from those bastard, Frankie!"

"Arrrrgh!" With a shout filled with pain, the homeless man transforming into a giant bat. After the transformation finished, he shrieks sending a ripple of shock wave, that destroy windows of the surrounding area. He carefully walks inside the animal shelter, scaring the animal inside, desperately searching for something. Finding nothing, he let out a frustrated growl, then flying away from the messy animal shelter. After a while the police come and investigate the area.

"God dammit, it's the 2nd time this month, this city animal shelter getting raided!" A gruff detective wearing a coat come out of the police car, while observing the surrounding area. "Rookie, get me the surrounding area surveillance recording, now!" He orders the police woman who come with him, "yes sir!" She quickly goes and retrieve the recording as the detective investigate the shelter. "Hmm what this?" The detective find something stuck on the shelter of the broken windows. So, he takes out a pair of rubber gloves, and an evidence bag from his coat pocket.

He put on the gloves and carefully grab the thing that caught his eye and put it in the evidence bag. Looking at it closer its a patch of black fur, "hmm the same patch of fur like the usual, I hope that rookie find something from the recording." With an irritated sigh the detective start investigating the crime scene once again while waiting. Before long the police woman come back with an USB stick and give it to him. Finding nothing new in the crime scene they decide to come back to the station and check the recording.

On the other side of town Manhattan after the police leaving the crime scene. "Pwah, drinking milk after a hard work-out is great!" I take a seat in the desk resting for a while after the morning training regiment. "Ding!" [hey lad you receive a new mail from the organizer quick open it!] "Oh, the area of the contest is ready to be announced huh, let's open the mail then."

Congratulation Kamen rider Upsilon, we have decided to make state of New York as one of the contest area. So, we advised for you to not leave the state until the first phase over. If you leave the state, then you will be instantly disqualified. The other contestant in your block is Ψ, Ο, and Ρ

"Great, it looks like I don't need to move around the country then" now what should I do for today? "Excuse me" a greeting snap me out from my reverie, a bit annoyed I ask "who is it?" "Hello, I'm the repairman the landlord hire fixing your door." I paused for a second, and finally remembering yesterday call. "Ah, of course come on in" the repair man enter and remove the curtain checking the damaged door.

"Goddam man, are you living with a gorilla or something, this door practically rip out of its hinge!" The repairman exclaimed after examining the damage, with an awkward laugh, "don't be too exaggerated." Quick, distract him I'm too lazy explaining the situation to him, "so, how much do I need to pay?" He falls quiet for a second and say, "$500." I quickly decided on the spot, "if I pay you $750, can you make it quick?" With a wide smile, he says "Of course, boss!"

True to his word, the door quickly repaired, and now I can leave the house with a peace of mind. I paid the money and ask for his number so if anything else breaking I can call him. After tidying my house, I decide to go to Brooklyn and scout the area. As I arrive there via the subway, a newspaper stand caught my eye cause of one of the paper's headline. A BAT DEMON RAIDING LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTER, TRUE OR FALSE!?

I buy one of the newspaper to reading it while walking. Reading the article, the bat has sighted for several months destroying the local animal shelter in the area. I'd better ask the local, and gather some more intel, where that bat can be frequently seen. With that in mind, first I check the crime scene where it recently sighted. Arriving there, I can see police blocking the access of the front door. Seeing that, I look around for another entrance, decided to wait for any employee to come in or out the building for questioning.

I finally find an entrance in an alleyway on the back of the building, with an employee struggling to lifting a sack of pet food. With a charming smile I approach her "hello there need a hand?" The black woman and cautiously look at me for a second with a heavy breath. Seeing me smiling harmlessly without anything suspicious. "Who are you?" Hearing that I quickly answer her "hello my name is Dan, and I'm a vlogger, I heard an accident happen here, so I come to investigate."
