Chapter 6

Seeing me taking cover, the spider jump on top of the tree and start spitting its web again. Sensing the danger, I dodge the attack, then the spider quickly jump to the other tree while attacking. The attack is relentless, and now it turns into a game of chase, with me dodging while he is the one who chasing me. My body getting hit by some of its attack, fortunately the armor defense is strong enough to ignore most of its attack. After 2 minute of chase I know I can't keep doing this, so I immediately stop in some small clearing and draw a card, activating it "Wind Barrier!!"

The spider shriek in happiness seeing me stop and increasing his barrage of attack. When the ball of web nearing my body, they uselessly slide to the side avoiding it, deflected by the wind barrier. Furious the spider attack stagnant for a moment charging its power to deliver more powerful attack. Taking the chance, I quickly leap toward him, swinging my sword with all of my power. I quietly look at the still activating wind barrier, (of course! It looks like there's more effect from each of the card I own, and the wind barrier increase the sharpness of my sword.) As I'm deep in thought the spider start attacking again, fortunately the barrier still working so some of its attack getting deflected.

(I'd better make my move quick, before the barrier time running out.) Without a second thought I draw a card and activating it "Thunder strike!!" I thrust my sword to the sky gathering electricity in the air, seeing my move the spider start panicking, increasing its attack frequency. Feeling that my body can't move at this state, I grit my teeth and receive the barrage of blow. Seeing me won't budge an inch after receiving his attack, its face turn into despair as he desperately tries to run. But before ha can run far enough, I zap him with the thunder.

After my attack finish his body turn black burned by the attack and fall to the ground. At the same time the tree he is on scorched too, "shit, I hope I don't cause a forest fire after this!" I quickly run to the place he falls, finding him to standing up quite unsteadily. "Quick, lad use the roll finish!" Hearing that, I remember what he taught me on the sixth day. First I press Upsilon screen, and second draw the monster card and scan it, third press the button on the bottom of the dice groove. "Roll Finish Initialize : G-G-G-Gold Beetle!!"

With that sound of confirmation a giant 10 sided die appear clad in electricity hitting the spider, paralyzing him. After hitting him the die roll for a second and finally stop at 10. With that a number 10 clad in electricity appear on my back and converge into my body. A mysterious power filled my body, cladding it with electricity. My body filled with overwhelming power, before I know it, I'm instinctively moving my body. I take an I-ai stance with my left hand acting as the sword sheath "Rider!!" Electricity burst throughout my body and sword, with one step my body gone from its place and instantly appear on the back of the spider, with my sword drawn "Slash!!"

"Critical Roll Finish!!!" As that voice reverberate through the forest, a cut mark appear on the spider body, and then it exploded. My body automatically cancel the transformation, then I fall on my knee exhausted as Upsilon fall from my belt. "Wheeze-wheeze" I decide to lie down for a while catching my breath. "You alright there, lad?" I can hear fatigue from Upsilon voice. Yeah, I can manage it just fine. Some time pass, finally my stamina return, and now I'm strong enough to stand up again.

I take Upsilon from the ground and then take a look at the explosion aftermath. The place where the spider exploded now replaced by a naked black man. Surprised, I ask upsilon to take out the blanket from the inventory. As I warp the naked man with the blanket, I finally see his true face. "Wait, isn't he the man who shot me?!" As I shout in shock a shadowy spider jump out of the man body and start attacking me. Shocked, I instinctively punch the spider, killing it, "What the heck was that?!" "That's my lad is a daemon, pretty much a foul creature."

"What's a daemon?" With a hint of disgust Upsilon explain it to me, "well, lad daemon are an aberration that formed from human negative thought. They will prey on human with a weak mind that indulge in the seven deadly sins. And that spider is born of envy, it will control its prey to look at everyone it sees with deep envy and hatred. So, when he sees its own kind earn a fortune from a hard and honest work instead of working hard, he blame that person and see him as a menace. Daemon origin is unknown, but they can be found after the old cataclysm."

"Old cataclysm, is that really happen!?" I shout in surprise hearing the news, well yeah it's really happening, that's how the Continent of Mu and Atlantis sunk.
