Kaiser of the New World

After the alarms, sirens and nuclear warnings, Kai wakes up in an empty white room. With no idea what to do, he just waits for anything to happen...hoping something will happen. Only when the voice of...something... breaks him out of the monotonous life of the white room, he realises the problems he will have to face just to survive. Note - First few chapters are slow, monotonous and downright terrible, I mean, just going back and looking at chapter three has me cringing. My writing gets better as the story goes on, but it still has a few info dumps. The first few chapter are the shortest by far, like chapter 30 is the same length as 1, 2 and part of ch 3 combined. Honestly, you can just skim the first five and then maybe read it a little more in depth. Thanks, and please, go easy on the first chapters, I already hate them. Schedule is new chapter every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Working time

After spending a couple hours just relaxing with Umbra and trying to convince himself that everything he had gone through was not some insane dream but in fact reality, Kai was finally ready to get some work done.

The first thing he was going to do was Statshift. Even with all the boosts and upgrades he received that would be able to boost his original ability, Kai was unsure how long it would take to shift his stats into an amount that he felt comfortable with.

Mana would definitely not change, actually, he might increase it by a bit, Kai wasn't sure yet.

Kai was obviously going to take some Strength and split it between his Dexterity, Constitution and Stamina. Those four stats could be said to be similar, considering they were all to do with Kai's physical capabilities.

Kai had gotten lucky so far in all of his battles, he had never actually gotten into a prolonged fight. Even the war at the very end, Kai had fought for less than fifteen minutes before he had fused with Failure, and even then he had received a large amount of stats and wasn't even actively controlling his body, so it's not like he would be able to get tired. It's not that the mental drain he was going through wasn't torturous, it's just that Kai wasn't sure if Stamina would even be able to improve his mental stamina.

But if Kai were to fight for an hour, or maybe even more, there was no doubt that he wouldn't be able to with how low his stamina was.

He also needed Constitution so he could tank more hits, simple as.

But Dexterity, Kai wasn't really sure how to feel about the stat. It was his lowest stat throughout the whole tutorial, but it's not like it affected Kai all that much.

He had obviously noticed that the reason he wasn't able to dodge all of the attacks he had forseen with his strange future sight was because of his lacking Dexterity, but he still was able to do something about what he had seen even with that stat being abysmally low.

But that also meant that Dexterity was tied to Kai's reaction speed, making it even more important than Kai wanted it to be considering he wasn't sure how evenly he was going to split his stats.

But that also led onto another point, did each stat have another aspect that was linked to then?

If Dexterity was reaction time, then if Kai increased his Constitution would it increase his pain tolerance or something? Or upgrading his Stamina would increase the rate at which he recovered from being tired?

Kai just shook his head and sighed. That was too much theory to be doing without any actual hard evidence, so he just got back to deciding how he should split his stats.

Kai would put some stats into Luck, considering it was to do with his worse aspect of his innate ability and all. It's not like there was any reason not to put some stats into the stat, so Kai saw no harm in doing so.

But Will... Kai had no idea what to think of the stat. Honestly, it just seemed kind of useless. If it was to do with increasing one's mental capabilities or mental fortitude, Kai saw how that could be viewed as useful, but he already had Nonchalance for that.

Still, he could just chuck ten or so stat points into it for good measure.

So after deciding where he would put the majority of his stats, Kai let go of Umbra and sat up on his mattress. After taking a deep breath to ready himself for what was going to be a long days work, Kai activated Soul Sense.

And was shocked with what he saw.

No longer was there a dull gray orb in the centre of his chest, no, that had been replaced by something new.

Instead of Kai's soul being a dull gray, it was now a beautiful ball filled with the seven colours that represented Kai's seven stats.

Some colours were more prominent than others, red filled majority of the orb with violet following behind. It seemed that the amount of the colour represented how much was in his stats.

At least my own soul doesn't think I'm boring anymore. It seemed that the only reason it thought I was boring was because I hadn't awakened my bloodline.

... Wait, is my soul a gold digger? Not wanting to be nice just because my bloodline was sleeping. Am I really that type of person? Actually, would it be gold digger, or soul digger, or even bloodline digger?

Kai sighed as he gazed at his soul. To be honest, he was a little nervous. How was he meant to Statshift if he couldn't even see the seven sparks that represented his stats through the vibrant sea of colours.

Still, there had to be someway to Statshift considering he had just gotten offered a class about it. There was no way he would just lose the ability to Statshift if he didn't pick the class, right?

An idea popped into Kai's mind about what he could possibly do, and since he saw no reason to not at least attempt it, Kai got to work.

With the twenty percent boost from his bloodline, the slight affinity to souls offered by Soul Sense and the upgraded Soulcery that allowed him to manipulate certain aspects of souls and granted him a small boost with anything to do with his own soul, Kai willed the stats to split and stick with their own colour.

A few moments passed and Kai felt a tingling sensation rise in his chest, not a bad feeling, just a strange one. It was like one of his organs was being tickled by a feather, which Kai wasn't actually sure if that would be dangerous or not.

Kai, slightly surprised, patiently watched as the seven colours started splitting inside his soul. Each molecule of red moved towards where the largest amount of red was, basically the opposite of diffusion.

Each colour done the same thing as blue moved towards blue, gold towards gold and so on and so forth.

It was an astonishing sight, watching all of those colours flow beside the other colours while merging unto seven different sized sparks.

And soon enough, the process was done. It had only taken a minute, but Kai inwardly knew that he would have been able to speed up the process if he wished to. He didn't though, as he saw no reason to and he kind of liked the strange feeling his soul had been subjected to. Plus, it was a pretty sight, and who didn't like pretty sights?

He knew that the only reason he knew that was because of the apparent knowledge he had because of his bloodline, so there was no reason not to believe it.

However, that was the strange part, where the hell had he gotten this bloodline from?

He wanted to say that he was one hundred percent certain that his parents had never done anything sketchy in their lives to end up getting something like this, but it was impossible for Kai to know everything they had done before he was born.

Hell, Kai even knew that his dad was a scientist at one point, though it was only for a year as he had ended up falling in love with one of the research assistants and just leaving the lab behind in favour of cherishing their blossoming love.

That was the beautiful story of how he came to be.

At least, that was what Kai had been told, its not like he had actually seen any lab coats or memoirs lying around his house. The only indication that his parents could have scientists was how they were really good with using needles.

There was also the chance that it could have come from his grandparents, but Kai had never even met them to begin with. In fact, Kai had never met his grandparents on either side of his family. He was told they had all died either before he was born or when he was too young to remember them, but it's not like he had a reason to not believe what his parents had told him.

Still, Kai was obviously curious about the origin of his bloodline. He would probably just ask his master about it the next time he met. Maybe there was someone else out there in the vast multiverse that had the same bloodline as him.

Or even better, he might just be able to ask his parents themselves if they had somehow miraculously survived whatever tutorial they were placed in.

Kai simply shook his head and sighed as he pushed away those thoughts. He gazed back at his soul and inwardly smiled as he acknowledged that all of the sparks had grown in size since he had last checked.

This was obviously because all of them had increased by three after leveling up his new class once. It was a small boost, but one Kai was happy about nonetheless.

However, there was something else that caught Kai's eye, something that he had never seen before in his soul.

What the hell is that?

Sitting inside Kai's soul, in the very centre of all of the sparks representing his stats, was a small, almost unnoticeable, brown seed.

Nearly there...
