Kaiser of the New World

After the alarms, sirens and nuclear warnings, Kai wakes up in an empty white room. With no idea what to do, he just waits for anything to happen...hoping something will happen. Only when the voice of...something... breaks him out of the monotonous life of the white room, he realises the problems he will have to face just to survive. Note - First few chapters are slow, monotonous and downright terrible, I mean, just going back and looking at chapter three has me cringing. My writing gets better as the story goes on, but it still has a few info dumps. The first few chapter are the shortest by far, like chapter 30 is the same length as 1, 2 and part of ch 3 combined. Honestly, you can just skim the first five and then maybe read it a little more in depth. Thanks, and please, go easy on the first chapters, I already hate them. Schedule is new chapter every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Class selection

So it seemed that an upgraded version of Soulcery was what had come out of the fusion between that and the skill Kai had received while he was unconscious.

But what skill had it fused with? What skill could have possibly boosted Soulcery all the way up to Epic rarity?

Soul Manipulation, obviously.

The answer was very obvious, Soul Manipulation was what he had been offered alongside Soul Flame and Soul Link. It was also Epic rarity itself, so it made sense that Soulcery became Epic after it fused with it.

Yet Kai couldn't help but feel slightly giddy at the prospect of his upgraded Soulcery, this was his first Epic rarity skill after all, an Epic skill had to be stronger than a common skill, right? If it wasn't, it just seemed like it would be kind of scammy.

So what better way to find out than by just reading the description of the skill.

[Soulcery (Epic)]

Every journey begins with a single being, yet can be influenced by those around them. Allows the user to passively influence the souls of those around them. User is able to repair souls based on the rank of their own soul and the amount of Mana they posses. User is able to manipulate certain aspects of souls that can grow as the users proficiency and skill improves. Grants the user a small boost with anything to do with their own soul.

Kai giggled like a child on Christmas when he read the description of the skill. All of that sounded pretty good, but the only strange part was that it had basically erased the previous description and replaced it with something completetly different. There was no more mention about a long dead god founding it, or how there's countless branches of the skill.

He was obviously kind of curious about the god that had created this skill, and the fact that The Ever-changing had decided to give it to him, but he could probably just ask the next time he met his master.

But that left another question in Kai's mind, was this branch of the skill he had ended up with any good?

Sure, the fact he was able to repair his soul meant he would be able to push himself more than the average person, but that wasn't something he wanted to do often.

Even though it bad been a few days since Failure had possessed his body, his soul still stung from the aftermath, a way of showing that getting a much higher level being to posses you without the help of a Miracle Bead was an absolute no go, a surefire way of death.

And even if Kai somehow found another Miracle Bead, there would be no way to use it, considering that there was a one thousand year cooldown for the user.

Which, now that Kai thought about it, didn't actually seem that long. If gods were able to live for millions, billions or even trillions of years, what's to stop them from having a stockpile of Miracle Beads on standby? A thousand years to them was probably like a month to Kai.

Then again, it could be like the items Kai possessed, incredibly useful and powerful at this current stage, but would slowly grow weaker as time went on and Kai grew. Maybe Miracle Beads were the same, they just couldn't influence gods the same way they could influence a level twenty-two in a tutorial.

Still, Kai was more than happy with the skill. It allowed him to repair some of the injuries that his soul could have, manipulate certain aspects of his soul, which Kai assumed that it just meant that Statshifting would be ever so slightly easier. It also gave a small boost to anything to do with his own soul, so maybe Statshifting would actually be a lot easier now, opening up even more options for Kai.

The only confusing thing about the skill was the mention of passively influencing the souls of those around him. What way would he he influencing them? Even better, what does influencing a soul even mean? Would they get stronger? Weaker? Would the effects of their skills grow more potent? Would he even be able to affect their stats?

There was no way for Kai to know, at least, not until the tutorial properly ended and he was let out of the white room. But that wasn't for another four days, meaning there was still quite a bit of time left.

But Kai wasn't complaining, there was a lot of things he wanted to accomplish in these four days by himself, there was a lot of things he had to test, and he also wanted to get at least one good chunk of sleep.

But before he could do any of that, there was, of course, more notifications to get through.

At this next notification was a big one.

Class Selection obtained

Kai grinned. For some reason, unlike his skill selections, his class had not been randomly picked by the system. The notification under it was some sort of glitch, but there was nothing near it to warrant the glitch, so Kai was just thankful the bug in the system gave him some free reign over his future.

Class selection was obviously very important, the class he had picked allowed him to meet The Ever-changing after all, a god who had given him quite a bit of advice over their two meetings. Each bit of advice had been quite helpful, from telling Kai he should be more mindful of who to trust, to also just giving him some sort of magical beer that allowed him to develop his soul easier than others. His master had done quite a lot for him.

And now, Kai was going to select a new class. He wasn't sure if he would just be offered an upgraded version of the one he already had, he wasn't sure what came after apprentice... Disciple? Student? Padawan?

Obviously, Kai wanted a class with a good rarity that offered a lot of stats, so he got down to business and looked at his options.

Please select 1 of the 4 following options

Oh, four, that's a bit surprising.

Still, Kai wasn't going to complain about that number, the more the merrier he thought. Unless all of the classes were good, then he just wouldn't be happy because he hated making choices.

Beacon of Hope (Rare)

A guiding light, a shining star, an inexstinguisable flame, that is what it means to be the Beacon of Hope. The Beacon of Hope is able to guide those around him, empowering them with their aura and making their wills burn with determination. The user will be able to obtain exclusive skills dedicated to this class if they choose to select it. The user is also able to select 2 beings to act as its arms to assist it, granting them bonus stat points per level up and the exclusive skill Guiding Light. Grants the user +5 Strength, +7 Dexterity, +5 Constitution, +15 Mana, +15 Luck and +13 unnasigned stat points per level.

Kai would have to apologise to the Soul of Ethania, because now he thought that this was the longest description he was ever going to see. Still, even though the description was long, it didn't really explain much.

It basically just said that anyone who fought with Kai would be empowered when near him and giving them more determination than they had. Also the mention of exclusive skills, Kai wasn't really sure what that meant, but maybe they were good.

Then, there was the fact that the class wasn't really about Kai himself growing stronger, it was more about creating a team of three, himself and the two so called arms, and growing stronger as a team.

Of course, it did kind of seem that the system was pushing Kai to get a team of his own. Perhaps it liked seeing him travel with Noelle and Sofia, or maybe it meant Umbra and it wanted him to upgrade Contract of Artemis so he could get another familair to fill that slot.

But it also didn't explain a lot. It mention that his 'arms' would gain an exclusive skill called Guiding Light, but it didn't explain what that skill actually did. Was it worth picking that class for, Kai could never be sure unless he actually picked it. It also mention that his 'arms' would get bonus stat points per level up, but Kai wasn't sure if it meant everytime he leveled up or rverytime they did.

And of course, there was the stats. A lot more stats than his current class gave. Currently, he got eighteen unnasigned stat points per level up, meanwhile this class gave thirteen unnasigned stats and a whole lot more in assigned stats. Altogether, the class added up to give sixty stat points every level.

A crazy number, that was worth three levels of Kai's current class considering he also got three bonus unnasigned stat points from his Human bloodline.

But if a Rare class gave sixty stat points, then what would classes of other rarities give?
