Kaiser of the New World

After the alarms, sirens and nuclear warnings, Kai wakes up in an empty white room. With no idea what to do, he just waits for anything to happen...hoping something will happen. Only when the voice of...something... breaks him out of the monotonous life of the white room, he realises the problems he will have to face just to survive. Note - First few chapters are slow, monotonous and downright terrible, I mean, just going back and looking at chapter three has me cringing. My writing gets better as the story goes on, but it still has a few info dumps. The first few chapter are the shortest by far, like chapter 30 is the same length as 1, 2 and part of ch 3 combined. Honestly, you can just skim the first five and then maybe read it a little more in depth. Thanks, and please, go easy on the first chapters, I already hate them. Schedule is new chapter every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A slightly better montage

Kai swallowed nervously as he looked up at The Host. To be honest, this was slowly starting to become a little anticlimactic. Kai personally didn't believe that he had enough clips for more than one 'act' of himself, but apparently the angel did.

Sure there was some good moments that were about to show up, but were they worth a whole act?

Then again, that quick war was pretty eventful even though they didn't spend a lot of time on the battlefield...

The screen slowly shifted back to the familiar interior of the Dome, and Kai recognised what scene act two had started at instantly.

Kai could be seen sitting on a stone while staring blankly at a cave entrance in the distance, a look of disgust on his face.

Act two had started just before Kai and Wa'rak had stormed the tunnel.

People watched along, partially confused, like they had been for a majority of all the clips. This tutorial was vastly different to some of the previous ones after all.

The clip sped up and done a quick time-lapse of Kai contemplating what to do before it eventually slowed down as he stood up and started running at the tunnel along with Wa'rak.

Another thing that had the large crowd of people confused was the fact that Kai had somehow managed to act in unison with a wolf that couldn't even speak his language, earning him another few strange glances. Still, it's not like he had a reason to share that he had a skill like Telepathy, so he just let them stare. Some cards were better kept close to his chest rather than in the open.

However, much to everyone's surprise, and especially Kai's, a song started playing in the background as Kai and Wa'rak ran.

A damn song, The Host was trying to make the current clip looking like a fight scene from an action movie.

The song in question that was playing was goddamn Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry.

As for why The Host or even the voters had picked that song to play over this clip, Kai had absolutely no idea. Sure he liked the song, it was a good song after all, but it's not like it had any sentimental value to him or anything.

So Kai assumed that the angel and the voters simply liked that song.

However, the people around Kai weren't really focused on the song, they were moreso focused on what the hell they were watching.

After watching Kai transform into his Lycan form once more, which had also somehow managed to get taller and more muscly, they watched as him and Wa'rak charged into the darkness of the tunnel.

Blue blood coated the walls and cold ground of the cave, making Kai feel stupid. Looking back, it should have been more obvious that the moon beasts that had fought in the tunnel were puppets, but Kai was upset at the moment and was being biased, something he would try not to do again. From now on, he was going to at least look at everything before he tried anything.

Wa'rak and Kai both jumped over the horde of puppet moon beasts, their claws wreaking havoc upon the tide of abominations that were attempting to invade.

From the crowds point of view, they seemed to finally be getting why Kai might have got first place, but Kai knew that it wasn't really that cool what he was doing. He had gotten a large stat boost from his newly upgraded question mark wolf form and he also had Wa'rak, who was equally as strong, fighting by his side. Plus, majority of those abominations were just weak in general.

The crowd watched with growing levels of admiration and respect as Kai and Wa'rak killed the last of the weaker abominations abominations.

But Kai grimaced as he remembered what happened after that easy wave one.

Fighting that invisible wendigo abomination was top three hardest fights of the tutorial, along with Kai being backseat in Failure and Aldred's fight against the Demon and also his fight against the Depth Dweller.

And the crowd were soon about to learn why that was.

People's eyes widened as they watched the wendigo abomination disappear. They then watched as both Kai and Wa'rak got toyed with.

Then, they all started grimacing as Kai got one sidedly beat up by the invisible abomination. His blood was being sent everywhere, his health being drained rapidly. Everyone thought that there was no chance and that that hot brown haired guy would probably come and save them.

However, to Kai's surpise, the man who had previously made fun of him spoke up, a grimace on their face.

"Jesus kid, was that seriously your plan?"

Kai turned his head and simply shrugged.

"It was a good plan in the moment, and it worked out in the end."

The people around them were confused, wondering what the man meant by that.

It was then they saw the outline of something invisible with the help of all the blood that Kai had lost, a humanoid shape that wasn't actually there.

Some of the people near Kai turned to look at him with wide eyes, did he seriously let himself be beat and cut up on the off chance that his blood would stick to the invisible abomination? Who would be that masochistic?

Suddenly, Kai felt as all those glances had turned strangely familair. Kai wondered why it was the same as all those times Umbra looked at him strangely...

The song and clip both continued playing as Kai started to fight back, in fact, Kai wasn't sure if this was planned or not, but the moment Kai started fighting back the song reached its chorus.

Kai blocked, cut and finally grabbed the abominations invisible head and started dragging it along the wall.

People grimaced as they watched Kai leave a trail of red on the wall as he ran, the invisible wendigo's body slowly starting to appear again. In the moment, Kai hadn't noticed that it had actually turned visible again, but now that it had, Kai was lucky that he hadn't noticed until the very end. It wasn't a pretty sight after all.

The song concluded just as Kai shoved the top half of the abomination into the side of a tree, leaving it hanging limply out of the tough exterior.

People continued to stare strangely at Kai. This ranking was perhaps the most schizophrenic of them all. They kind of saw how he could be in first place, but he still seemed kind of lacking when compared to the necromancer in second.

The Host then showed a time-lapse of Kai's training. It skipped the part where he had his dream meeting with The Ever-changing and went to where he was doing his whole statshifting under the waterfall escapade.

Even though they did have a small feeling of respect for Kai from the fact he did actually train and not just get all his strength from his sugar daddy, he also earned a few more strange glances stemming from the fact he had done his training under a freezing cold waterfall.

The next scene was one Kai was equally familiar with, only it had actually skipped quite a lot. The Host had decided to skip that entire party Failure held and went right to when Kai was attempting to fall asleep under the cherry blossom that night.

The familiar cried of help rang out as the crowd watched Kai tiredly stand up to find the source.

Majority of their expressions all darkened when they actually saw what the source was. Some grimaced, some cursed, while some were shocked that the woman being pinned down was the one who was in tenth place.

After watching that crazy man break that woman's leg, they watched Kai one sidedly beat up the man before doing some horrendous first aid before he picked her up and brought her to Failure's cabin.

Another act that earned him a few respectful glances from the people around him.

At this point, the people in Kai's proximity were just as schizophrenic as him. They went from disgusted looks, to awe-strucken looks, to a few more awe-strucken lucks to looks that accused him of being a masochist, to a few more strange looks and finally ending at looks of respect.

Well, not ending with, there was still a bit more to come after all.

They watched Kai convince Failure to give her a health potion before he left, earning him a slap on the back from the man that previously made fun of him.

However, to the man's surprise, Kai didn't move an inch, only confusing the man who thought he had a pretty high Strength stat.

After that clip, a new line of text appeared on the ginormous screen as it turned black.

Act Two: Inner Turmoil - Concluded

More rounds of applause rang out, only this time it was a little more genuine when compared to the previous act, where people had only clapped along because the enchanting angel had.

Still, Kai couldn't help but inwardly complain, couldn't they have titled these so called acts a little better? They were so cringy and really took away from the immersion.

"With act two complete, we move onto the third and final act of first places story. While it may have been slightly uneventful so far, I can assure you that act three will certainly draw your attention, no matter what!"

The Host smiled as the screen started to change for the final act, wondering how the crowd would react to this part.

*Small author note*

1. Sorry for these three chapters, I'm just using them as a way to recap the stuff that's happened so far. There will probably be some more of these type of chapters in the future, but after tomorrow there won't be any for a few months at least.

2. I'm gonna associate songs with a lot of chapters in the future. It won't be that common, most like associating Skyfall with the chapter I literally called Skyfall. It won't be every chapter, only the significant ones. That's the way you'd know if a chapter is or will be significant, if I mention a song to do with it.
