Chapter 8.

Sharon's POV.

"This is quite a proposal Miss Davis, but how can we be sure you can handle our needs considering....you know...,"

"What? Considering I'm a woman?" I asked the man in front of me. "Mr Gabriel lest I remind you, my company is mighty. I can assure you that whatever you have, my company and i can take care of it, we just need that opportunity," I spoke to my client.

"We'll give it every consideration, Gentlemen sha-" Mr Gabriel stood up to leave but I cut him off.

"Wait what? Consideration?"I ached a brow. "You've worked with companies that's half the size of this one in the past i know that for a fact, so tell me its a womans thing isn't

It?" I asked pushing him futher to talk.

"Ms Davis i can assure you that w-" He was saying gesturing to the other men sitting in the board room.

"No no, its okay." I stated, smiling. "You most likely are those kind of men that think a group of women can't do what you want. Well you're wrong. I'm not as tough as any man you'll hire on the job, I'm tougher because I'm a woman, I am hormonal and I dont take no for an answer. That Mr Gabriel you can take beat."I smirked at him as I finished my speech. I was internally praising myself in my head and Bisola was giving a thumbs up from where she was sitting. I myself knew I could be quite convincing.

The men in the board room all looked at each as if agreeing to something.

"Very well Ms Davis, I'm impressed." Mr Gabriel said clearly surprised at my outburst.

"Oh my God Sharon, you were awesome back there, now I see why your Dad insisted you be the one to talk to the business associate," Bisola told me as we made our way to my office which is currently now her office for a while.

I'm at my fathers company, just like i'd promised i would be droping by once in a while since its still my company, to check through what has been done while i was out. also. And Bisola is my cousin who is taking my place while I'm not in the office... and I was called by my Dad who requested I come talk to some business associates.

"Thank you, I guessed its my thing. It's Iike I was born to convince people," I said laughing.

"I tell you, you were born for it. I mean look at the way you spoke to him." She stated utterly impressed also. We entered the office and she started reporting to me things that were done while I wasn't around.

"We've made progress concerning the hotel been built in Port harcourt and the renovation for our branch in lagos." Bisola told me as i looked through the files.

"Okay, where are the papers concerning the proposal brought by Mazabs Enterprise?"

"This is it," i collected it and went through it, and all the neccessary procedures have been made.

"Good, I'm really impressed." I said to her smiling.

"I'm glad you like it. So how are things going with you?" She asked as she moved from the office table she was leaning on and came to sit with me on the couch.

I sighed. "Fine, I guess...nothing special has happened yet." I told her matter-of-fact.

"Don't worry, everything would be alright." She told me patting my back. Bisola has always been that sister I never had, and I'm proud to call her my cousin.

"Mom and dad send their greetings , and that its really been long they've seen you." She said referring to my uncle and aunt.

"Ohh tell them I'll come to see them very soon, infact dont worry I'll call them myself,"

"Well you do that." Bisola said while checking her time. "its lunch time, lets go down to eat." She told me. We were almost out of the office building when my phone rang.

"Hi Lily," I said picking up the call.

"Sharon,"

"Yes?,"

"Do you know you are an hour and half late for your shift and the boss is furious?" My eyes went wide.

Shit.

"Oh my God I totally forgot, I'll be right there." I said as I hung up the phone.

"Bisola I need to leave right now, we'll have lunch some other time. I need to get to the restaurant ASAP," I panicked.

"Alright lemme get you a taxi" Bisola offered

"Thanks." I ran a hand through my hair. A taxi appeared not long after and I got in and told him the address. In less then 20 minute I arrived at the restaurant. As I entered, I saw Lily in her usual place, the counter.

"Hey," I said to her.

"Hi, you really need to go put on your apron now and start your shift before the boss comes, don't worry I told him a lie for why you're late." She told me as she was giving a customer their change. She looked at me from head to toe. "And why are you dressed like that?"

Shit, I forgot I was in my work clothes. Um...what should I say?

"Sorry, I forgot to tell you I went for a job interview, you know a girl is gotta try her luck" I lied.

"Ohh really? Did you get the job," she asked hopefully and I shook my head negatively.

"Aww sorry about that," Lily sympathized with me.

"Thanks, its no problem." I shrugged my shoulders.

I made my way to the locker room to get my apron and name tag. Thank God I usually keep an extra sandal. I removed my heels and changed into my sandal.

I was going up front when I met with one of my colleague, Rita.

"Sharon could you please help me drop this drink for the customer at table 8, I need to use the bathroom as in immediately," she said while squeezing her legs together.

"Alright." I collected the tray from her and started walking to table 8. I was almost there when I saw the person that was sitting there. My eyes almost popped out from their sockets, and I stood rooted in my spot like a statue.

No no no no no.

This can not be happening, my secret can not be exposed yet, I haven't even accomplished what I came here to do.

All my hard work can't go to waste.

Oh no no, he would definitely recognise me. I started panicking.

Sitting on table 8, ladies and gentlemen is Mr Gabriel, my business associate that I spoke to in the morning.

Someone please kill me now.
