Chapter 3.

Sharon's POV

"YOU WHAT!" Gift shouted.

"You heard me clearly, Gift." Was my reply. I looked over to where Amy was, as she was just staring at me with her eyes wide and her mouth open.

"Babes, its not like I said I want to commit suicide. Come on, I need you guys to support me on this plan before I tell my parents about it."

"You want us to support you? For you to go somewhere else and pretend you're not rich? Just because you think you might find someone who would like you for you? Why would you think of such a thing?"

I knew Gift was going to be the one react like this.

Before my friends came, I had dressed and gone down stairs to eat. My mom was really happy that I came out from my hiding hole. She had told the maid to prepare me my best food which was far better than the chocolate I've being filling my stomach with. I'd asked my mom where my dad was, and she said he was at work. That reminds me, today was Monday and I was supposed to be at the office. Well I'm just taking the day off. I guess being the CEO's daughter has its pecks.

My mom also didnt go to work today. Shes a lawyer. She said she was very worried about me, so she decided to stay home for me. I also apologised to her for the way I had acted earlier on and she told me she understood perfectly for my behavior.

I just love my mom.

Not long after i'd finished eating my mom asked me how I was feeling and I knew what she meant by that. I just told her I didn't want to talk about it and I was happy she didn't insist on it. After talking with my mom for a while, that was when my friends arrived.

I told them about the idea I had which was to go live in another place and pretend I was not rich and also even work for someone, maybe there I would find someone better than the ones I got. I know I sounded pathetic, but its the only thing I've been able to think about.

"Its easy for you guys to say, Gift you're engaged and would probably get married soon." I turned to Amy. "Amy you have a boyfriend who really loves you and you guys have been dating for two years now. So, where does that put me eh?" I asked them.

Amy looked at me with sympathy in her eyes "I know, but do you think its the best solution for this?

"I've thought about it and I think it could work,"

"Okay what if you find a guy and he ends up being your prince charming then he later finds out that you're not who you claim to be,then what would happen?" Gift looked at me, waiting for me to answer her Question.

I looked at Amy,and she looked back at me with the 'yeah, shes right' look.

"Emm I'll..."God I haven't even thought about that. "Well when we reach that path,we'll know how to cross it." They were silent and just looking at me. After much persuasion, they finally agreed.

Gift sighed. "if you think that's what would work...then I have nothing else to say, but to support you."

"Me too, I guess."Amy shrugged.

"Thanks babes, I love you guys." I said happily. "Group hug?" I said opening my arms. Amy and Gift immediately jumped on me and we fell to the ground, laughing.

I just love my friends a lot, they've always been very supportive of me.

"Okay so I guess all that's left is for me to discuss this with my parents, hopefully they will accept." I said after the group hug, as we were now sitting on the floor.

"Yeah you have to do that." Gift said checking her phone.

"Ohh I forgot to ask you, how's Bayo doing?" She smiled and looked up to me from her phone, while I asked of her Fiancé

"He's okay, he even asked me to greet you."

"And you're just telling me now." I smiled shaking my head.

"I forgot, this whole discussio-- AHHHHHHH, GET THAT MONSTER AWAY FROM ME,PLEASE!!" Gift suddenly shouted and I looked and saw she was pointing to witty who was rubbing its neck on her leg.

Amy and I started laughing nonstop, by now Gift had stilled like a statue and couldn't even dare to move, while gritting her teeth and shooting us death glares. That even made me laugh more till tears started coming down from my eyes, and I clutched my stomach, so did Amy.

Amy finally stood up and carried witty, rubbing her fur. "Hey witty, quite a while right?"She purred, whereas Gift finally relaxed herself.

"I've told you to stop letting that thing come near me when I'm in this house." She said angrily

"Awww, when would your phobia for cats stop? I wonder why anyone would hate such a cutie." I said chuckling.

"They're not cute, they're monsters, can't you see its eyes." She retarded back eyeing the cat. I just laughed, shaking my head. "You never change, do you?"

———-

"Lola, where's mom and dad?" I asked our maid as I entered the kitchen.

"They're in their room ma'am." She answered.

I left the kitchen and headed for my parents room. On getting there, the door was closed, so I knocked. I don't think I want to see my parents doing anything funny. You get what I mean right?

I heard a 'come in', so I twisted the door knob and entered their room, thankfully they were just watching TV.

"Good evening Daddy, mummy." I said as I entered their room and sat on the bed.

"Bawo ni(How are you) my daughter?" My dad asked me in our language, which was Yoruba. I was Nigerian by nationality and so were my parents. I've travelled to a lot of places, but I can still say I preferred living in Nigeria.

"I'm okay. So, I wanted to discuss something with the both of you," I said playing with the hem of my top.

"What is it? Is something wrong? Did something happen to you?" My mom quickly became alerted.

"No mummy I'm fine"I assured her.

"Okay then, go on child." My dad told me.

"Okay so you people know how difficult its been hard for me to get a boyfriend, when all they want is money," They shook their head and asked me to continue. "So I thought that maybe, I should leave the house and go somewhere else to pretend I'm not rich then possibly get a job and work somewhere." All the while telling them I didn't bother looking up, and when I did, I saw they were just staring at me as if I had grown two heads.

My dad finally broke the silence. "Why who you think of something like that?"

"Daddy am not getting any younger, I'm 25...please just let me do this, maybe just maybe this could work." I pleaded and they were silent for a while.

"For how long is this going to be?" My mom suddenly asked.

"I don't know, maybe 4 months?"

My dad sighed. "What about your job, Who would do it while you're gone? You know I would be retiring soon and you'll have to take over the company."

"I know." I exhaled weakly. "I thought maybe Bisola can fill in for me while I'm gone, I'll still be coming to the office to see how things are going." Bisola is my cousin from my father's side

After a few minutes of talking to themselves quietly, Dad asked me. "Are you sure this is what you want to do?"

I looked at him and shook my head. "Yes I'm sure." Dad went silent again.

"Ohh honey, I'm going to miss you." Mom cooed.

"Mom, I'm not going to be completely gone, I'll be coming home whenever I get the chance to." I assured her.

"If that's what you want to do, then we support you." Dad eventually spoke looking at mom and she shook her head positively. I went over to where they were sitting on the bed and huged them both.

"I love the both of you, thank you so much." I told them happily, yet a thought remained in my head.

I really hope I don't regret my decision .
