chapter 62 is this a lake or a wishing well (work in progress)

Daniel had no armor nor any weapon or robot with him, but he had Vincent

the moment Daniel splashed in the water Vincent was woken up from his trip down memory lane, he swiftly jumped inside the water and grabbed Daniel that was still obstinately clutching onto the rod

as usual, Vincent that like any other non-soul cultivator wasn't attuned to see what was going on failed to discover that Daniel at this moment was sending angry soul waves so powerful all the big shadow Arowana around swiftly run away despite being predators

but this wasn't important, Vincent grabbed the rod and with it brought Daniel back to shore, who was still futilely trying to reel whatever ate the bait

Vincent could now see the creature and with an exaggeratedly shocked expression took a deep breath not believing what he was seeing he exclaimed in disbelief "is this an abyss serpent?"

one of the few subjects Daniel enjoyed in school was exactly spiritual beasts, so he knew what an abyss serpent was and said "are you sure, shouldn't this thing be deep in the ocean?"

Vincent said "I'm sure, but it's not strange to see a creature where it shouldn't be as it could be someone's pet, the problem it's that she has no markings, no implant, no contract, it seems to be wild"

not even five minutes later the sweet chime of the little bell alerted Daniel, just like he did before he removed the bell and prepared, a moment later the same sensation as before arrived, once again he pulled and the line started to disappear in the water

the strange thing was that there wasn't any pull fron the other side, so Daniel was just realing in something heavy, soon the fish shadow appeared on the surface, Vincent seeing the light spots immediately commented "a little crystal sturgeon, nice"

Daniel was happily reeling in the glowy fish, and Vincent helped to net it, but when he looked in the net he realized that something was wrong

Daniel put down the rod and swiftly came to the net to look, but he too was stumped, this wasn't a crystal sturgeon it wasn't even a fish he said "it's just a chunk of crystal" with a disappointed expression

Vincent's collector side awakened immediately he was attracted by this chunk of crystal and said "do you mind if I keep it?"

Daniel who was already walking back said "do what you want with it" before going to grab the rod and change the bait

in the meantime, Vincent took the hook that was stuck in between two pieces of crystal and freed the new item before putting it inside his storage treasure, but something went wrong, and said "why doesn't it enter, is it alive?"

finally, vincent took a better look with his spiritual sense and said "there is a little lifeforce in it, I think that it's an egg" immediately he took a picture and sent it to a chat group named fishing buddies

Vincent responded "an abyss serpent and a bone shark are really rare, but the crystal sea horse not so much, you can buy one on the internet and have it shipped the same day, it's just that wild ones are rare that's why he wants to buy it"
