No Escape

Gavin found himself trapped inside an darkness where if he look at his right, he would see nothing and same goes to his left.

His heart pounding against his chest as he tried to make sense of his surroundings.

The air was thick with a putrid smell, a stench that seemed to seep into his very being.

He couldn't remember how he had gotten here, but he knew one thing for sure based on the pressure of that unknown dark matter - he was far from that fucking place.

"Sigh, where the hell am I?"

Gavin muttered to himself, his voice barely above a whisper.

He had come from the planet Earth, a world so familiar to him, but now he found himself in a place that was unknown, full of carnivorous creatures that fed on souls and emotions.

The very thought of it sent shivers down his spine.

Determined to survive, Gavin relied on his knowledge as a person from planet Earth.

He scoured the area, searching for a place to hide, and eventually found a small cave that he could call his own.

For twenty years, he lived in that cave, hiding from the dangers that lurked outside.

Twenty whole fucking years!

He would spend his days scavenging for food and water, all the while trying to maintain his sanity in a world that seemed intent on driving him mad.

Finally, after two decades of constant desire to escape, Gavin managed to break free from the cursed spirit world.

But just as he thought he had found his way back to Earth, he found himself trapped once again, here.

His heart sank as he looked around, feeling that he was still in the same cursed world that had tormented him for so long.

Only a little different in atmosphere.

"I hope this is just an illusion."

Gavin muttered to himself, his eyes darting around nervously.

"I hope this is not that world. I couldn't even land my feet on some other area, making me trapped for whole fucking years in one area."

The dread in his voice was palpable.

"Fortunately, for some unknown reason, whenever I ate a weaker soul, my mind would refresh and I wouldn't go crazy with loneliness."

Gavin knew that he had to find a way out of this world, but he also knew that it wouldn't be easy.

He would need to rely on his wits and his survival instincts if he wanted to make it out alive.

Gavin's heart skipped a beat as a dangerous feeling washed over him.

He looked up to see a large, hideous creature with a familiar yet unfamiliar bug-like face advancing towards him. His instincts kicked in, and he knew that he had to act fast.

With a guttural growl, the creature's stomach rumbled ominously, sending a chill down Gavin's spine.

"Fuck this shit, I'm out!"

Without a moment's hesitation, he turned on his heels and spirited away, his six senses on high alert.

Swoosh!

Gavin ran with all his might, his body was slowly being shown in the dark, he was an unknown humanoid creature with two hands and two feet that lacked fingers.

On his back was a small mountain of flesh with two dangling human hands that could not be classified as an ability, for it worked just like a human's hands.

As he ran, Gavin could feel the creature hot on his heels, its foul breath and sharp claws just inches away from him.

"Shit! Shit! Shit! This is why I want to be in a cave forever!"

He gritted his teeth and pushed his body to the limit, determined to outrun the monster that threatened to consume him.

Suddenly, just as the creature was about to grab him, one of Gavin's dangling arms reattached from his back, and black blood-like ink spurted from the wound.

"Gra-?"

The ink covered the creature's face, temporarily blinding it and giving Gavin the chance he needed to get away.

Gavin stumbled forward, his heart racing as he put as much distance as possible between himself and the monster.

He could feel the blood dripping from his wound, but he was too focused on escaping to care.

As he ran, Gavin realized that he was starting to feel weaker and more vulnerable.

He knew that he needed to find a place to rest and heal before the next danger presented itself.

Gavin's heart pounded in his chest as a mechanical sound rang in his head and a system screen appeared in front of him;

Ding!

[ The user will fade within four minutes and fifty-five seconds. ]

He was too busy escaping the clutches of the monster to process what the system screen meant or whatever it was. But as he ran, he realized that he was trapped.

Panic set in as Gavin's mind raced to find a way out of this dire situation. He knew that he had to act fast if he wanted to survive.

The clock was ticking, and he had only a few precious minutes left before he would fade away.

"Shit! Shit! Where do I go?"

Gavin muttered to himself, his voice laced with fear and desperation.

He had been running around in circles, but no matter where he went, there was always a giant creature lurking in the shadows.

He felt like he was trapped in a small square, with no escape in sight.

The walls were closing in on him, and he could feel his time running out. Gavin knew that he had to think fast if he wanted to survive.

With a deep breath, he closed his eyes and focused his mind on finding a way out of this predicament.

He knew that he had to be smart and resourceful if he wanted to make it out alive.

"I can do this, I can do this, I can do this!"

Gavin repeated to himself, trying to calm his racing heart.

He had experienced a lot of dangerous situations in this unknown world, and he knew that he had to keep a level head if he wanted to survive.

Gavin took a deep breath and focused his mind on the task at hand.

He knew that he had to find a way to outsmart the creatures that were hunting him, and he was determined to do so.

"Growl!"

Gavin was startled by the sudden sound, and when he looked up, he saw at least twenty bug-like giant creatures advancing towards him.

Their body shapes were inconsistent, some walking on one leg and one arm, with big heads and large bellies, but all of them had bug-like features.

Gavin's heart sank as he realized that he was vastly outnumbered and outmatched. He knew that he had to act fast if he wanted to survive but he couldn't think of anything!

Soon he froze as he heard a sliding heavy thing with a creaking and cracking sound.

Suddenly, a blinding light illuminated the area, revealing the grotesque creatures that had been hunting him.

The sight of them filled him with terror and revulsion.

He tried to back away, but there was nowhere to go.

The creatures were closing in on him, their sharp claws and teeth glinting in the light.

Suddenly, Gavin heard voices coming from the light, and they sounded disturbingly familiar.

"Throw him to the cursed spirit and let them break him! Ahhahaha!"

The sound of clothes and a soft heavy object made a sloshing sound, followed by a thud, thud as the heavy thing hit the ground.

As the sound of the heavy thing and the light faded away, Gavin could hear the voices.

"You are a waste of the Zenin Clan, orphan."

And then, with a loud bang, the door was closed, leaving Gavin alone in the darkness.

Gavin stood there in shock, his mind reeling from what he had just witnessed.

"Are they humans?"

He thought, as he tried to make sense of the voices he had heard.

It was hard to believe what he had just heard, but he was sure!

Those are human languages!

Yes!

Those are human languages!

However, Gavin did hear and remembered, so he spoke in question.

"Zenin Clan?"

He was trying to come up with an idea, but he swore, he knew that but not so much.

As he stood there lost in thought, a sudden sound broke his daydream.

"Cough! Cough!"

The sound came from the object that had been flung inside and was now in front of Gavin.

The thing coughed again, and Gavin knew he had to act fast.

He approached it cautiously, and as he got closer, he realized that it was a giant familiar face looking up.

Gavin's heart sank as he realized that the face belonged to someone he knew the race of and it made his assumption to the earlier voices correct.

"A human?"

"A real human?"

Gavin thought to himself, confused and surprised to see another human being in this unknown world.

But his confusion was short-lived, as he suddenly tasted the air, full of salt, and felt tears falling like giant rocks around him.

He heard the voice of a man crying out.

"I just want to be a part of the family, why do they have to do this to me? Just because I don't have a background, cursed energy, and talent!?"

Gavin's heart as he noticed that the man's voice was getting weaker and weaker, and he could tell that he was close to death.

"I just want to be a part of the family."

The man pleaded.

"I just want everyone to be happy together and live forever. Why can't I have that?"

And with a final gasp, the man uttered small words in his last breath.

"I want a perfect family..."

"A perfect Zenin clan and live a simple life…"
