Animal path problem

As Gavin stood inside the training room, the Animal Path, one of the six paths of pain, was outside conversing with Ogi Zenin.

Meanwhile, Gavin was facing a daunting issue.

The system displayed a message stating that the Animal Path had no animal to summon.

Buddhists believe that animals inhabit a different dimension separated from humans not spatially but mentally; an unhappy plane of rebirth which revolves around fear, instinct and survival of the fittest, suffered by those animals that work for humans and, above all, by those ignorant to what is happening to them.

However, those animals became cursed spirits as they were absorbed by the cursed spirit world, so the Animal path cannot summon them.

In order to obtain one, Gavin had to capture many souls or slay cursed spirits of the same race.

The gravity of the situation hit him like a ton of bricks, and he knew what he had to do.

He began to slaughter cursed spirits in droves, allowing the fly heads to follow him and gather around him.

Sweat poured down his face as he fought, his every movement fueled by his determination to succeed.

Eventually, the system announced.

Ding!

[ 432/500. ]

Indicating that he was making progress.

However, Gavin knew that he needed to do more.

Looking at the Deva Path, he realized that it only had two more chances to use his abilities, Push and Pull.

He knew that if a problem arose, he would be in trouble.

While luring the fly heads to come together, he couldn't help but wonder what would happen if a battle erupted between the Animal Path and Ogi Zenin.

The mere thought of it caused him to break out in a cold sweat.

The last thing he wanted was to cause a commotion, especially since he didn't have an animal path to summon.

Feeling frustrated and confused, Gavin addressed the system.

"Sigh, why must I live such a simple life? Can't I show the Zenin clan how strong and powerful I am so that I can finish this task quickly?"

He longed to demonstrate his strength and make a name for himself.

However, the system remained silent.

It had previously informed him that it could only grant his wishes if he fulfilled the owner's two desires.

If he failed to comply, the system would vanish, and Gavin would be left to fend for himself.

Unable to get a response from the system, Gavin resigned himself to his fate.

He had no choice but to fulfill the wishes of the body's original owner.

"Whatever."

He muttered.

"Since this is his desire, I will grant it so that I can exist in this world. Living a simple life might be dull, but at least I get to experience this Earth, even if it's a replica of my original world.

"I just wonder how it will all end. Will I ever be free from the shackles of this clan?"

Suddenly, the system replied.

Ding!

[ When the time comes. ]

Gavin was startled by the response, he didn't expect it to respond, after all, the system only respond occasionally and then he stared at the system screen for a long time, lost in thought.

Gavin snapped out of his reverie when he heard a noise behind him.

He turned to the Deva Path puppet and asked.

"How many flyheads are following us?" The puppet's eyes glinted as it replied,

"Roughly more than forty."

Gavin furrowed his brow, knowing it wasn't enough.

"We need to attract more."

He commanded.

With that, he and the Deva Path flew towards the darkness of the training room, followed by a horde of fly heads.

The sound of their wings fluttering reverberated in the air, and Gavin could feel the vibrations through his body.

As Gavin continued to lure the fly heads into the training room, a sudden thought crossed his mind. He turned to the system and asked.

"By the way, how strong would my summon become if I completed this?"

He couldn't help but wonder how powerful his summon would be, considering the immense strength of the summons used by Pain in the Naruto Universe.

The system responded with a prompt.

Ding!

[ The host and Deva Path's power is comparable to a Special grade, while the power of the Animal Path depends on the chosen cursed spirits. Currently, the host has chosen flyheads. If the host has collected five hundred souls of flyheads, it will become a grade 1 summon flyhead, if thousand, it will become special grade 1, and if the host collects 30,000 souls, it will become a Special grade power. However, the host's body and the power of his two paths are only comparable to that of a grade three sorcerer. ]

The system went on to explain that the higher the grades of the bodies, the higher the consumption of curse energy would be.

The system emphasized the importance of improving the host's grade to reduce the loss of lifespan.

[ Keep doing the tasks given by the system to reduce the side effects or surpass it. ]

The system was added.

Gavin was left speechless by the system's response.

"So, I have to do all of these things while maintaining a simple life and only fix things in the shadows?"

He muttered, feeling overwhelmed.

The system remained silent, as if telling him that he already knew the answer.

Gavin understood that he had to strike a balance between fulfilling his duties and maintaining a low profile.

He knew that he had to continue working hard to improve his skills and increase his grade, even if it meant sacrificing his own lifespan.

With this realization, he steeled his resolve and continued with his task.

Outside, as Ogi continued to converse with the Animal Path outside, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was not right.

Despite the creature's claims to be his son, Muta, Ogi couldn't help but feel that the voice and mannerisms were different.

"What happened to you, Muta?"

He murmured to himself, feeling increasingly uneasy.

During their conversation, the Animal Path revealed that it wanted Ogi to ascend as the head of the Zenin family.

Ogi was taken aback by the request, wondering if the puppet knew what it was talking about.

"Why do you want me to become the leader of the Zenin clan?"

He asked, suspicion creeping up on him.

"What do you desire in exchange for your help?"

The puppet remained silent for a moment, its gaze fixed on Ogi's eyes. Suddenly, it spoke up.

"I just want you to achieve your dream while promising to do what I ask you to do."

Ogi's anger flared up at the idea of being a puppet, but he knew that he had little choice in the matter.

He was curious about the extent of the creature's desire and his true identity.

"You want me to be your puppet?"

Ogi sneered, feeling uncomfortable with the idea.

"What kind of requests do you have in mind?"

Despite his reservations, he knew that he had to accept the proposition, at least for the time being.

The puppet of Gavin responded.

"I just want what's best for the family. If my requests are too much, you can deny them."

It continued.

"For now, I want you to have a good relationship with my sisters. I don't care if it's fake, as long as you try your best."

Ogi pondered the request, wondering what the puppet's intentions were.

He knew that he had to proceed with caution and keep his guard up, especially since he didn't know the true identity of the creature in front of him.

The sudden statement from the creature that claimed to be his son caught Ogi off guard.

"Maki and Mai, they are strong, especially Maki. It would be too dangerous if Maki were to become the next Toji Fushiguro. It would be a catastrophe for our family."

The puppet said.

Ogi's eyes went wide, and his hand instinctively went to the hilt of his sword.

Suddenly, the hand on the hilt of the sword moved, and it made a sharp whooshing sound.

Ogi was surprised by his own reaction, and however, he chose to continue.

Without difficulty, he appeared in front of the creature that claimed to be his son.
