Journey: The Destructive Incarnate

In the Stellar sea of stars, a giant tree stood, rivers made of countless white streaks flowed throughout its giant body travelling toward its root. Those rivers were made of souls going through the process of rebirth, but among those countless rivers, a certain stream travelled directly toward the stem of the tree. In that specific river, a soul flowed like every other; nothing special about it would have remained as such. Suddenly the space it inhabited collapsed as a brilliant golden glow travelled out of that distorted space. The soul unable to escape got showered by that golden glow, its spiritual body absorbing it. Unable to handle the magnitude of the power contained in the golden light, the soul started to tear up. But somehow it managed to absorb it all, but it came at a cost, as the single soul split into two, one being thrown out of that river. Passing through another river, it made its way toward the root, whereas the other part continued on its way. A soul who got the body to handle the power of the golden glow after rebirth but didn't have it, and a body that had the power but couldn't handle it was created. Ch.56 A Normal Girls Personal Hell(2)

After hours of driving at full speed, the carriage finally stopped, although they were still very far away from the middle section of the city, with their current position, they were quite safe.

The carriage came out of the carriage and looked at the people sitting on top of the carriage with anger in his eyes.

"You fuc#ers get out of my carriage."

He shouted, the people sitting on top of the carriage didn't refute him and got down from the carriage, Aline was no different as she also got out.

Seeing this the driver gave them a glare before getting back into his driving position, he started the carriage as they left the area.

The people left behind looked around for a while before going their separate ways, most chose to scavenge the area as it was empty.

All the people had already run away and although it was relatively safe currently, it wasn't sure how long that would last.

Aline was no different as she quickly separated from the group, the nuns in the church had warned her to be guarded against strangers.

She went toward a medical house and took out some bandages, and pain relieving paste.

She currently didn't have any money on hand, so even if she wanted to she couldn't pay. So she promised herself that one day she would repay this debt.

Applying the paste and bandage she looked at the area from the medical house, it was desolate with nobody there.

"Hey, little miss."

A voice called her as she looked in the general direction, there he was a man wearing some leather armor most likely an adventurer.

He had some scars on his face and he was smiling at her, her senses warning her to escape.

"Want to travel together."

He said giving a kind face but, her senses didn't stop warning her. So she stood up and replied.

"No need."

With that, she sprinted away with all her speed, the man looked at her but didn't chase her, his kind face disappeared and was replaced by an annoyed one.

"Tch, a hard catch it seems."

He grumbled before walking toward the general direction where the girl had gone, he was a ranger so it shouldn't be that hard for him to keep an eye on her.

As for why he didn't attack her, well being an adventurer he has enough experience to tell who is weaker and stronger than him.

Aline stopped running for a while, and looked back, seeing that no one was following her she gave a sigh of relief.

Putting on the remaining paste and bandage she sat on the bench nearby, she was tired, very tired. After all, today was a very chaotic day, but she couldn't stop and rest here.

After all her goal is to reach the middle section of the city, that's where she will find her family.

Taking a deep breath she stood up and walked toward the direction of the market, well she walked in the direction where she could smell fruits.

Reaching there she took a bag from a stall and started to pack it with food, she will need it for the long travel ahead.

She can't stay in this part of the city for long, after all that creepy uncle is still here. So with everything ready, she started to sprint.

She was fast, although not as fast as a carriage she should still be able to reach the middle section in a weeks time.

Well if she can maintain this speed constantly that is, which is impossible.

So what could have been a week's journey took her three weeks, but she finally reached it. The point is called the middle section and is indicated by the towering wall in front of her.

After a week of her travel, she had already found people who hadn't evacuated due to being far away from the border.

She didn't stop there as her senses were warning her that the danger hadn't been lifted and seemed to have been the truth as many carriages passed by her during her travels forward.

After finally reaching there she entered the middle section, it was so crowded that she couldn't even see in front of her.

She hadn't been able to bath for weeks so her body was covered in dust and mud, and her bright green hair had lost some of its radiance.

She walked with the crowd, after all, that is the place where the refugees are most likely staying. So she should be able to find her family, if not at least find some information about them.

Someone tapped her shoulder from behind as she looked back.

"Good to see you again little miss."

He said it was the same man she had ran away from weeks ago. He was smiling at her but she felt danger like never before, so she ran away as fast as she physically could.

"This little bitch."

The man grumbled as he motioned two people in front of him with his eyes, they nodded as they started to follow the little girl.

"I should go meet the boss, this chaos will bring us quite an opportunity."

He muttered as he smiled, even though he was human his current smile wasn't.

...

"Haha."

I took a labored breath as I ran, that creepy uncle was here. Although he hadn't done anything, I felt scared after all I could feel his aura.

It gave me the feeling of pure dread, so I ran away, getting out of the crowded area I entered an alleyway.

If he tried to follow me I could disappear from his vision here, stopping I took steady breaths as I looked back.

I gave a relieved look, he wasn't following me. I should quickly find sister Hista and the others.

Just as the thought came to my mind two men approached me, one had brown hair and snake-like eyes.

Just looking at him disgusted me, his aura was nauseating, so much so that I had to hold back otherwise I would vomit.

The other bald man was no different although a bit milder, she knew that if she got caught by them she wouldn't have a good end.

"You seem lost little miss, why don't you follow us? We are locals here so we can show you the right path."

The snake-eyed man said as the bald man nodded, I wanted to escape and do nothing with them. So I looked around hoping I could ask anybody for help.

But strangely no one was there near me, just moments before it was filled with people but now it looked desolate.

"No thank you. I can find my own way."

She said to them, trying to find a way to escape.

"Hoho, don't say that miss. Let us help you."

The bald man said as both of them started to approach me, having left with no choice I ran into the alleyway.

...

Seeing this the two men smiled as they followed her, and for some reason, a crowd appeared behind them, the same crowd that had disappeared before.

"So much hard work for a little girl."

A man wearing a mage clock muttered as he came out of a building nearby, he was the one who cast the illusion magic in the surrounding.
