Journey: The Destructive Incarnate

In the Stellar sea of stars, a giant tree stood, rivers made of countless white streaks flowed throughout its giant body travelling toward its root. Those rivers were made of souls going through the process of rebirth, but among those countless rivers, a certain stream travelled directly toward the stem of the tree. In that specific river, a soul flowed like every other; nothing special about it would have remained as such. Suddenly the space it inhabited collapsed as a brilliant golden glow travelled out of that distorted space. The soul unable to escape got showered by that golden glow, its spiritual body absorbing it. Unable to handle the magnitude of the power contained in the golden light, the soul started to tear up. But somehow it managed to absorb it all, but it came at a cost, as the single soul split into two, one being thrown out of that river. Passing through another river, it made its way toward the root, whereas the other part continued on its way. A soul who got the body to handle the power of the golden glow after rebirth but didn't have it, and a body that had the power but couldn't handle it was created. Ch.55 A Normal Girls Personal Hell

It has been an hour since the monster started to attack the city, the city is in chaos as people are running everywhere without any fixed direction.

Good thing for the barrier that was formed otherwise the casualties would have counted in hundreds of thousands.

That barrier also helped the ruling class in the city to get more prepared as the soldiers traveled to the edge of the city in droves.

They didn't really have any time or manpower to manage the chaos in the city as cracks had started to appear in the barrier and it would break any moment.

The news has already traveled that the one casting the barrier is on the verge of death due to having to maintain the barrier so the situation had gotten even more chaotic than before.

The most important goal for the people here is to travel to the middle section of the city, thus carriages have been more packed than ever.

Among the group of people traveling toward the carriage service, a group of church workers with kids could be seen.

A little girl was leading than as she jumped high in the sky to look for carriages, all of them were completely packed and trying to escape as fast as possible.

The barrier behind them cracked as the sound of something hitting the ground became more prevalent.

Those mana-sensitive like Aline could already feel the mana intensity behind them, so she got more anxious than ever.

People started to get more fanatic as they jumped on top of moving carriages without minding for their lives, the carriages didn't stop as they knew they were moving with a time limit.

"Found ONE!"

Aline shouted as she pointed in a general direction, the Nuns nodded as all of them moved toward that place with full speed.

Not minding the crowd of people they continued to move, there they saw a carriage near an alleyway far away from the normal crowd.

It was almost full and many people were sprinting toward it, the Nuns and the kids did the same. Reaching there the nuns started to help the kids ride the carriage, Aline also helped.

"Get on quickly!"

The carriage driver shouted as he looked at the outskirts anxiously, the building had started to collapse and the ground was shaking more than ever.

The Nun didn't give a reply but they started to move faster than ever, finally, all of them finished climbing although the carriage had become jampacked.

Nobody complained as the carriage driver started his move, seeing the carriage people started to shout for it to stop but the driver didn't.

"Finally safe."

One of the younger nuns said with a sigh of relief, as she started to pray.

"May The Sun God Protect us."

All the nuns started to pray as the other passengers also prayed holding the carriage tightly. After all the ground was shaking and they didn't want to fall off the carriage.

Bang!

Suddenly something hit the carriage it almost toppled, but the driver managed to save it.

"GOT IN!"

Someone shouted from the top of the carriage as the driver grumbled in frustration. Hearing the shout of the kids tried to peak outside, but it was the greatest mistake in his life.

"AAAAAHHH"

The man fell due to the constant shaking of the carriage, he tried to hold something to save himself. So he held the child's head pulling the child with him.

Aline quickly reacted as she grabbed the child's body, seeing this as an opportunity the man started to climb the child using him as a rope, the child cried due to the pain of having his body pulled but the man didn't mind.

Seeing this anger arose in Aline but she calmed herself, grabbing the child's head so that it wouldn't snap she gave a strong pull.

The child was safe but Aline was put in an awkward position and that man grabbed her hand.

Tumble!

She fell off the moving carriage due to the sudden force, she groaned in pain as she hit the ground.

"AlINEEEEEEEEEEE!"

One of the nuns shouted seeing Aline falling off, another tried to stop the driver but he simply said.

"Shut UP, I Don't plan on dying today. Do you understand how long it will take to pick up speed again? Look behind you can't you see the buildings falling."

After saying that he looked forward and focused on driving again, he gave a sigh and said.

"There is no way I am risking mine and all other passengers' lives for a girl I don't even know."

With that he became silent and nobody spoke another word, the only sound heard was the weeping of one kid.

Aline stood up as she calmed her breathing, her clothes had gotten dirty and somewhat ripped due to the fall.

She felt a stinging pain in her right arm and she saw a blue mark, this was the first time she had gotten so much injured so tears fell from her eyes.

She wiped off her tears as she looked at the departing carriage trying to ignore the pain she felt, looking down she saw the man who had pulled her.

He was knocked out, and getting angry at him she kicked him the balls, she had learned from one of the uncles that it was a vulnerable part.

The man opened his eyes and shouted, after which he got knocked back again.

Looking at the carriage going farther and farther she started to sprint and almost fell, after all the earth was shaking.

Balancing herself she ran, but there was no way with her current strength she could catch up with a speeding carriage.

Looking back she saw houses falling and the screams of people, due to her sensitive senses she could even smell blood.

Disgusted by it she continued to run, it was the only thing she could do.

A carriage zoomed past her, seeing this she got an idea, putting all her force in her legs she sprinted and then jumped.

Barely landing on top of the carriage she held on tightly, there were a few more people with her but she ignored them as they ignored her.

Though surprise could be seen on their faces, after all, they hadn't seen such a strong child. Plus they could feel mana from her body.

"A highhuman."

One of them muttered but nobody was able to hear it due to the constant thumping sound and the moving winds.

Aline just closed her eyes as she tried to stop the tears in her eyes, after all her arm was still hurting. So she was doing everything in her power to ignore it, though it wasn't helping.

To add to that she was separated from her group, and the father who took care of her was nowhere to be seen.

So she couldn't hold herself back anymore, looking down she started to silently cry. Tears couldn't even drop down on the ground due to the winds.

Others saw her crying but didn't say anything, after all, they also felt like crying. All their life work, gone completely gone.

So the time passed in silence as they moved toward the middle section of the city, having to witness the destruction behind them.
