Journey: The Destructive Incarnate

In the Stellar sea of stars, a giant tree stood, rivers made of countless white streaks flowed throughout its giant body travelling toward its root. Those rivers were made of souls going through the process of rebirth, but among those countless rivers, a certain stream travelled directly toward the stem of the tree. In that specific river, a soul flowed like every other; nothing special about it would have remained as such. Suddenly the space it inhabited collapsed as a brilliant golden glow travelled out of that distorted space. The soul unable to escape got showered by that golden glow, its spiritual body absorbing it. Unable to handle the magnitude of the power contained in the golden light, the soul started to tear up. But somehow it managed to absorb it all, but it came at a cost, as the single soul split into two, one being thrown out of that river. Passing through another river, it made its way toward the root, whereas the other part continued on its way. A soul who got the body to handle the power of the golden glow after rebirth but didn't have it, and a body that had the power but couldn't handle it was created. Ch.53 A Normal Girl(4)

"Here, your order."

An old shopkeeper said as he handed the two bags of vegetables to a little girl in front of him, the bag each weighed 30 kg, and under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have even thought of giving it to a little girl such as her.

But that girl was different, especially so and everybody in the neighborhood knew that.

"Thank you, Grandpa."

The girl said as she took the bags from his hand, holding it like it weighed nothing. No matter how many times he sees this, he couldn't help but be baffled.

After all this girl is only two years old, well looking at her body she looks older than that but still.

"Still strong as ever, Aline."

The old man said as he smiled at her, hearing that the little girl gave a cute smile that seemed to melt his old heart.

"See you tomorrow."

The girl said as she rushed out of there, seeing this the man simply smiled as he continued to tend to his shop.

The wind hit her face due to the speed she was running at but she didn't mind as she continued to run, her beautiful green hair following her.

Smiling she reached the church where she had spent two years of her life, the nun working in the garden welcomed her as she entered the church.

Inside she could see the nuns and the other children older than her working, cleaning the church.

"You have returned."

An older nun said as she approached Aline, seeing the bag in her hand she took it and she put it on the ground.

"Good job."

She said as she gave a motherly smile and patted her head, other two nuns came and picked a bag each taking it to the storage room.

"Thank you."

She said as she looked at a broom lying near a chair, she picked it up and started to clean the church.

"Sigh, you should rest child."

The older nun said, seeing the little girl work so hard, although she liked her hard-working nature, it still pained her heart to see a child working so hard.

"Don't worry, sister. I am strong, so I don't need rest."

Aline said as she looked at the nun with a grin on her face, after that, she got back to work. Her mentality was simple, if she is stronger than others then she simply will do more hard work than others.

"Sigh, what shall I do with you."

The nun said but didn't continue her work anymore, after all, they held no meaning to this hardworking girl.

After the work was finished all the kids went out to play, whereas Aline stayed inside helping the nuns.

The nun didn't say anything to this, after all, they knew the children wouldn't play with her and they couldn't really do anything about it.

"Hey, have you heard the child of Lord Lionheart again went into a coma?"

One of the nuns said as she sat down peeling some vegetables.

"Again, it seems it happens once every year, this is the third time already."

"Sigh, So sad to hear that such a misfortune fell the Lionheart family, We can just hope that everything will be fine."

Another nun said as she chopped the peeled vegetables into fine pieces.

"The Lionheart Family??"

Aline questioned as she looked at the nuns talking about it, after all this was the first time she had heard about it.

"Oh, you don't know Aline."

One nun said as she sat down next to Aline.

"They are the ruling family of the Dukedom we stay at. They are also called the Diving Shield of the Sun."

"Diving Shield of the Sun!~, wow~ like the Sun being the Sun God."

Aline asked as her eyes glowed with excitement, after hearing such a fascinating title how couldn't she be excited?

"Yes, they are a family blessed by the Sun, to protect the masses."

Another nun said as a glow of fascination appeared on her face.

"Wow~, then I want to join that family."

Aline exclaimed in excitement as she stood up from her seat, after all, why wouldn't she want to join such a cool family?

Hearing her words, all the nuns giggled which made Aline pout, seeing her cute pouting face one of the nuns stopped and said.

"You can't join them."

"But, why?"

Aline asked back, after all, why couldn't she join?

"Well, for starters you don't have the Lionheart surname, secondly all of the members having their blood have characteristic Silver hair."

Hearing the nun's words Aline hung her head low, after all, she didn't have the Lionheart surname, and her hair wasn't silver but green.

"Haha, if you want to join then so bad, Why don't you marry the Young Lord, after all, he is just a year older than you."

One of the nuns said jokingly as she looked at her down-casted face, well she didn't really mean her words.

"Hehe."

All the other nuns giggled at her words, and Aline remained silent thinking of something. As for what she is thinking only she knows.

With the same joyous environment another year passed by, and a festive mood was in the city as some months ago the young lord of the Lionheart family had made a full recovery.

Though the news traveled here quite slowly, nonetheless it was good news.

But that same joyous mood couldn't be seen in the faces of the shoulders patrolling and guarding the border near the "Titan Spine Mountain".

After all, for some reason, they don't know the magical beast activities in the area have increased by a lot, making their jobs even harder.

"Sigh, goddam all these beasts."

A soldier complained as he sheathed his sword, The body of a giant lizard was lying in front of him as he looked at it with disgust.

His eyes looked tired due to working for days without any long breaks and he reeked of blood.

"Well, got a do what a soldier got a do."

One of his companions said as he sat on a rock, taking out an alcohol bottle he took a ship releasing a satisfied sigh.

"You know you shouldn't drink on the job."

The other soldier said as he looked at his partner, out of all the people he had to pair up with this guy.

"Hahah, Chillax my guy, Here want some~"

He said as he smiled at his ever-serious partner, seeing the bottle handed to him, already tired of days of constant work he took it.

Without thinking anything else he started to down the bottle, after all, it will help elevate his stress.

"HAHAHAH, That's my guy"

The man shouted as he took out another bottle from who knows where, chugging it down he relaxed his body.

After all only this much won't be able to make them drunk but it is quite good for relaxing.

Suddenly the ground shook, as the man who was standing fell, onto the dead lizard's body.

"What did you put in this man, to make it so strong."

The fallen man complained, after all just a little he lost his balance and thought the ground is shaking.

"It's not the drink."

The man said as he put the alcohol bottle down, his previous laughing face gone and now he was more serious than ever.
