Ch.28 Fun Times

After having a nice bath and cleaning myself I leave the bathroom, looking at the two small orbs on my bed I give a satisfied nod as the maids have done their job.

Shifting orbs are a 5-start magic item that allows one to change their looks and voice as long as magic is supplied to it.

We will be using it when we go out, after all, we are nobility and royalty so our safety is always at risk. Due to this, the shadows will most likely follow us as it is their job to protect us.

Changing into a fresh set of clothes I look at the mirror and fix my messy hair, seeing that everything is fine I put the two orbs in my storage space.

Opening the window of my room I jump down without hesitation, feeling the cold wind brushing into my body I give a refreshing sigh.

But can't really enjoy this feeling too much as it may lead to my death, well with my current strength if I don't use the spell I will most likely die.

Removing those negative thoughts from my head I arrived at the location we planned to meet, and waiting for me there was a reddish-orange-haired little girl.

I guess I kept her waiting. Well, let's not waste any more time.

"Sorry to keep you waiting."

Neo said as he landed next to Ruby, having already felt his presence she wasn't that surprised and replied back.

"Yes, you did make me wait so for that you owe me another ice cream."

Ruby replied as she gave him a fake frowning face, seeing her reply and behavior Neo's eyes couldn't help but twitch.

"That wasn't in the script, normally shouldn't you say that you also just got here."

Neo asked after all from all the books he had read and all the dating stories he had heard in his last life this was the most common situation.

"Hump, and why would I say that. You are late so make it up for me."

Ruby said in a haughty voice as she folded her hands and tried to act confident. Well, to be truthful she had also just gotten here some moments ago, but there is no way she will say that to him. 

"Geez, OK, ok I will buy you another ice cream. But are you sure after all this makes it the third ice cream? You may get fat."

Neo replied not wanting to play with her little act anymore, after all the ice cream wasn't that expensive in fact it was cheap. Only costing a silver coni a scoop, it may seem a lot for a commoner family as it could buy them a month's worth of food but for them, it wasn't really much.

"Heyyyy, There is no way I will get fat, after all, I am a growing child."

Ruby seemed offended by his words so she replied with a semi-angry voice.

"Yay, yay whatever you say."

Neo just shrugged his shoulders not wishing to go deeper in this sinkhole he created. After all, he doesn't wish to have a punch launched to his face.

"Hmm"

Ruby just glared at him hearing his reply but didn't really say anything more.

"Here, let's not waste any more time."

Neo said seeing her silence and handed her a shifting orb, seeing this Ruby took it from his hands still acting a little angry due to his previous comment.

Both of them already knew how to use it as they had also visited the city by the same method before, the only change was that Ruby had to help Neo at that time.

As they injected their mana into the orb it started to glow with white light starting to cover their body. After the light faded in place of Ruby and Neo were two kids with brown hair wearing normal commoner clothes.

Seeing that they had finished changing both of them looked into each other's eyes, nodding their head they got ready to leave the castle premises.

"Umm, Neo.."

Ruby called Neo out in a low voice as they were climbing the main wall of the castle, they could have left the main gate but it was more fun.

"Yes.."

Neo replied back as he continued to climb the wall at a leisurely pace, in the past he had to run at his full speed to climb this due to not being able to use mana.

"Will you still like me if I was fat?"

Ruby asked in an embarrassed voice as a hint of red started to cover her new face, hearing her question and seeing her reaction he chuckled.

"Of course, I will still like you. After all, you are my best friend."

Neo said as he reached the top of the wall and the view of the entire city lay before him, marveling at the sight that always impresses him Neo turned his head to look at his friend.

"Is that so."

Ruby replied as her head was down a little due to embracement, thinking about the question she asked she wanted to run away from here and hide in her room.

"Well then let's explore this beautiful city, Ruby."

Neo had as he extended one of his hands to her, seeing his hands she gently held it.

"Then let's go."

Neo shouted as he started to run with a smile on his face, seeing his smile and behavior Ruby also smiled as her previous embarrassment disappeared.

Both of them jumped down from the wall as Neo activated his flight spell, being enveloped with gentle winds they made their way slowly down the wall.

Looking at Ruby's cheerful face, Neo reminded himself back that even if they act and look more mature than their age in the end they are still kids.

If he were to compare it to his last life, he a four year looked like a seven-year-old and that was also due to his illness. After all, due to the presence of mana, the body and mind grow faster when one is in contact with it.

That's why by this world standard the age of adulthood is 15 years old and at is also the age when one has to go to the academy. 

Well, they join the academy if they are qualified enough, otherwise they have to start to look for a job if they are a commoner, and if a Noble or Royal they have to start to learn how to manage their territory.

It will be truly embarrassing for a Royal to not get into the academy as failure to do so means that they have destroyed their family image.

After all all the family names in this world are given by the gods themselves, so even having them is hard.

For that either they have to be a very famous or important person or have to be born into a family with a last name.

Every last name has a special meaning or importance, just like the last name Solious which makes them great users of fire and sun magic or gives them an undying warrior spirit.

As for the Lionheart, this name gives them a pride worthy of a Nobel and allows them to make an oath to boost their talent as long as they fulfill that oath.
