Ch.25 Under the Moons Gaze(2)

"Hmm"

Ruby hummed to herself as she continued to look at my face with a smile, her eyes having an expectant look.

"So what brings you here?"

Understanding the meanings of her words and what she wanted me to do I ask her the question she wanted to hear.

"Glad you asked."

She spoke in a cheerful voice as her face bloomed into a beautiful smile.

"I have a gift for you."

She continued her words as she took out her spatial pouch and started to search for an item in it.

"A gift you say."

I muttered it must have been Aunt Ruri's idea, after all, Ruby is quite... well not thoughtful enough to do such a thing on her own accord.

"Yes, here you go."

She replied to my muttering as she handed me a beautiful wooden box, due to the glass present in the front of the box I could see the beautiful sky blue colored Ruby sparkling due to the moon's light.

Taking the box and under her watchful and joyous eyes I open the box and take the necklace inside out.

It is a beautiful piece of ornament without any excessive design and the silver color of the chains complemented the sky blue color of the Ruby.

"Do you like it?"

She asked in an excited voice as she snuggled closer to me, she had an expectant look as she looked at my face.

"Yes, it is a wonderful gift."

I reply truthfully as I wonder at the beauty of her gift, the Ruby embedded in it that sparkles with a beautiful blue glow due to the moon's light making it look otherworldly.

Examining the gem more closely I couldn't help but show surprise on my face, after all, it is such a rare mineral.

"Poseidon's Heart."

I muttered in sheer disbelief as my face morphed into that of absolute surprise.

"Tch, you knew its name."

Ruby grumbled to herself as she looked and frowned but that changed as soon as she saw my face. Looking at my surprised expression and knowing that I liked her gift her face showed a smile of pure happiness.

This girl, does she even know the value of this substance?

"Ruby, if you know its name shouldn't you also know its value."

I asked just to confirm my suspicion.

"No, I don't."

She answered simply as she shrugged her shoulder, as if not caring about it.

"Didn't you ask Aunt Ruri?"

I asked again after all there is no way someone as knowledgeable and smart as Aunt Ruri won't be able to understand its true value.

"I asked Mother but she said you will explain it to me."

She replied back she made herself comfortable by leaning her head against my shoulder.

"Sigh, You know this is the 'Poseidon's Heart' correct."

"Yes, mother did say it was that."

"Most people will even mistake it for 'Neptun's Heart' a mental that is ranked 150th in the world."

"Yes, the shopkeeper did think of it as the 'Neptun's Heart'."

She answered again as she looked at the pendant in my heart.

"She swindled the shopkeeper didn't she."

I ask sighing at my Aunt's behavior, well I would have done the same in her place.

"Yes, she did do that."

Ruby confirmed my suspicion as she talked about her mother's exploit with pride in her voice.

"Anyway separating from the topic of swindling, this is way more valuable than 'Neptun's Heart' as it ranks as the 10th best metal."

I say to her in a louder voice so that she can better understand its value.

"Wow, so my gift is of great value."

She said with a smile, being happy that her gift was more valuable than she thought.

"Sigh, you do know that if given to a skilled Dwarf and with enough material it can be used to create Mythical rank weapon."

I tell her it's value again, after all, a Mythicl rank weapon is almost near the pinnacle of quality.

After all the weapons ranking is almost the same as that of the elixir, with 1 star being the lowest and 10 star being the highest. But as always there are levels above that and they are 'Legendary'.

Mostly considered the pinnacle of weapons by the ignorant, well they can't be blamed after all only the strongest of the warriors use such types of weapons.

But there is always sky beyond skies and it is also true for the weapons as the 'Mythical' class exists. Weapons that are mostly used by past heroes or handed down in the lineage of high-ranking families.

And above all of them is a rank, the rank of 'Divine'. They are called as such as they are blessed by the gods themselves or in most cases are the weapons of the gods themselves. They can't be considered as mere weapons as their wielders can create miracles just by using them.

"Hmm, then it can be even more useful for you."

She spoke as she jumped with joy.

"So when we go on an adventure together in the future we both will have super strong weapons."

She continued her words as she lost herself in the daydreams of future adventures so much so that she lost her footing and started to fall.

"Wa..Ahhh"

She cried out loud as she started to fall, smiling at that I grabbed her hand and pulled her toward me.

"Silly girl didn't I tell you to be careful."

I reprimand her as she turns her head down being unable to reply.

"Whatever, thank you for this beautiful gift."

I say as I put the pendant on, just as I do that due to its properties I can feel my mana flow getting smoother. This will help make the formation of the spell for me easier.

Well, using it just as an accessory is a waste of this mineral, but since it's her gift I guess I will keep it this way unless it is absolutely necessary to use it.

"You are welcome."

She said back with a smile as she returned to her previous position.

"Well, it seems I owe you a gift."

I say as I pat her head gently, after all, she likes it quite much.

"I will be waiting."

She replies to my words as she starts to hum.

Seeing this peaceful environment I open my book and continue to read it again. I can feel some her head moving as she tries to look at what I am reading.

Changing the book's position I make it easier for her to read as we both enjoy the cool breeze under the moon's light.

Looking at Ruby she seems to have fallen asleep, looking at her closed eyes I close my book.

Changing my position just enough that I don't wake her up, I stand up and I give her a princess carry.

Due to her being smaller than me in size, it isn't really that difficult, she moves her body a little as she makes herself comfortable in my embrace.

Smiling at the I jump off the castle and start to fall down, manipulating the winds such that it doesn't disturb her sleep I activate my flight spell as I make my way toward her room.

Giving a last look at the beautiful moon, I enter the castle again.
