A New World

There was blue all around. The sky above or the sea below. Everything was dyed in a single colour. But amidst this cerulean canvas, a small boat was floating. Yes, floating, not sailing for it had neither distinct direction not destination. And in that small boat, slept a young boy, barely 15, without a care in the world. The clothes he had on were completely common, a simple white shirt and bluish black trousers and a pair of black shoes. There was not a single thing about him that could make him stand out.

"Au~"

The boy woke up yawning, combing his black hair which stuck to his forehead with one hand.

(I really need to be more cautious when sleeping.)

The boy looked around and was relieved to find a large black peach shaped fruit next to him. The fruit was nothing like your everyday fruit and had strange markings all over it.

(Though it is my only support in this world but I am still not sure if I should eat it. Why didn't that God just give me a special devil fruit or at the very least a Logia type?)

There was white all around, with a strange mist floating all the way one could see. Between all that, sat two individuals, a young boy of 15 and an old man with a long white beard.

"Seth, I suppose? Seth Grandhomme. "

"Yes" the boy replied, not sure what was happening.

"I am very sorry to inform you that you are dead. Though you shouldn't have been."

"What do you mean? Am I not sitting right here? And where is this place and how did I arrive here?"

"Ahem!" The old man coughed and fixated his posture, "Let me tell you from the start."

"I am the God responsible for the maintainence of Sector Orion E to which your home planet Earth belong."

"Actually the one supposed to be dead is Seth Granhomme who lives two blocks away from your house. But by mistake, I let you get killed instead of him and now your supposed life span has been added to him."

"I am very sorry", the God bowed down.

Seeing the All Powerful God bowing to him, Seth started feeling guilty. Even though it was the God's fault for mistakenly killing him, still what has been done is done.

"Please raise your head. I won't hold it against you" Seth looked at his hands, "So, I am really dead, huh?"

"Yes"

"So what now? Am I going to be reborn or pass onto heaven or hell?"

"About that" the God lifted his head with smile and pointed a finger at Seth "How about I send you to a new world something like those in fantasy novels?"

"Huh?" Seth was stupefied. He understood what the God meant. He was an avid reader and liked those kind of isekai stories. Still, when it really came to him, he just couldn't believe it.

"Yes, how about this? You like that story called One Piece, right? Actually I have that parallel world under my jurisdiction. I can transfer you to that world."

"Really?" One Piece was his favourite anime and given an opportunity to live in such world is a dream come true.

"As you have lost your corporeal body I will provide you with a new one. Still, your appearance will not change. And I will make so that your stats are better than most of the people there. Also, I will provide you with a devil fruit when you are transferred to that world."

"But make that a Logia fruit" Seth interjected. After all, every One Piece fan knows that Logia is the best class of devil fruits one can find.

"That I can't be sure of. Remember every Devil fruit is strong. It depends on how the user uses it. I will make sure that when you eat that devil fruit, you will gain the knowledge of the full extent of its abilities. Whether you can use it or not will depend on your capabilities and how you train. Now, go."

Just as he finished, Seth's body started glowing white.

"What's -"

"You are being transferred. Good luck and do not return here anytime soon."

Seth disappeared.

When he opened his eyes, he was in a boat in the middle of the sea. He was alive once again.

He tried exercising to see how his new body felt but to his amazement it felt lot stronger and lighter.

(Not bad. Still why drop me in the middle of nowhere.)

No matter where he saw or how far he saw, there was only water.

(Now where is that?)

As he started searching, he saw a peculiar black peach shaped fruit with unusual markings all over it.

Seth lifted the fruit. He had never seen it in One Piece before.

(Um. Definitely not a Logia fruit.)

This one thing he was pretty sure of.
