Lireesa vs Legend

The entire battlefield paused when the two leaders from both sides argued back and forth. Who was righteous? Who was evil? It would be written by the victor.

As the rest of their subordinates listened to their speech, everyone was strictly vigilant. Sena was now facing the same but slightly weaker quasi-legend. Her duel couldn't become easier. In about another 100 exchanges, she was confident to kill this troll witch. Unlike her freak friend, Sena believed her combat power was way within the range of others' understanding.

Her lips curled whenever she thought about how the witch behaved during their exchange initially with pride and arrogance. Her opponent thought everything was in their palms and when the troll legend's aura appeared, several mockeries were spat out from the witch's mouth. If not for their combat ability difference was large, she had already slayed him with rage.

Who didn't know how to brag? Until Lireesa's momentum and appearance were so strong that their legend had to hide from the edge, the witch went shocked from disbelief. Unfortunately, when they were convinced of themselves being chess players, the game was doomed to failure.

A slap to the witch's face was indeed hard and Sena spared her ridicule so as not to piss her adversary to death. Her body had been frosty for a very long time and a duel session was a good solution to her problem. Even if she was to practice with Lireesa, the satisfaction wasn't enough. Now her boiling blood told Sena, this duel was what she yearned for.

For her mischievous acts and naughtiness toward the rest of her sisters, everyone forgot she was also a war maniac. If not for Lireesa at the top suppressing her, she would be challenging the rest of the Windrunners and the entire health department might be busy with injured rangers.

Sena's heart itched to fight, uncomfortable because of a short pause, while the witch who fought with her was heavily breathing and bent over his waist, hands on the knees. Recovering as much as he could to repel this lunatic.

Soon, both of them palpitated from a slight surge in mana unnoticeable below level 9, which showed their leaders were now preparing to fight again. The two had different reactions: the troll's face was horrified and frightened while Sena smirked victorious.

At an area where the Legendary fight was about to occur, the troll Legend calmed himself down to drive away the fear caused by previous deadly Lireesa attack. Despite knowing he was possibly no match, he wasn't reconciled and wanted to test his limits. His heart also exclaimed affirmation lest he would remain scared throughout his life without facing head-on once.

At least, he wasn't without the ability to fight back. Noticing the troll gathering his momentum, Lireesa complimented the legend troll in her mind as courageous, even though her previous attacks should have already persuaded otherwise.

"I want to fight and a fair one! I'll be using daggers, you, rangers are specialized at. I also ask you to return the favor by fighting close combat!" Legend troll's outburst caused commotion on both sides.

"I promised no matter the results, I'll help you in investigating your husband's death with all our tribes' capability." He added and already showed his position to Lireesa. In other words, he sold his favors and hoped the relations between them could warm up.

From the troll's perspective, their leader's speech already foretold victory wasn't possible except to avoid a shameful defeat. Dignity must be maintained, but they weren't sure if the enraged widow would agree to step down from the stair their leader had given. At least in many other races' views, elves would always honor and desire peace. This sudden agreement where the trolls had surrendered might avoid continuing losses.

On the Windrunner's side, they were dumbfounded by such presumptuousness but were aware the trolls had given in. Yet, they still awaited her ladyship's decision. No matter rights or wrongs, they would oblige without hesitations.

The reason for commotions was the fairness asked by the other side. In their opinion, asking the ranger to engage in melee was absolute nonsense. Her ladyship's refusal wouldn't even be a surprise. As far as they were concerned, Lireesa wasn't even a Legend, and competing as demanded by the opposite party seemed ludicrous.

One of them even cursed: "Fairness, my foot."

Perhaps also for this reason, the troll never demanded any further requests should he win or lose. His tribe had already succumbed to Lireesa's show of strength. Although many of his fellows died, he felt the sacrifices of trolls were worth it to placate the monster in front. Based on only Windrunners solely on the battlefield, it also meant the war couldn't last long and wasn't supported by the elven kingdom. He could feel relieved by these likelihoods.

After hearing the content inside the troll's roar, Lireesa almost slipped her footing. He dared to ask her even if he was at a disadvantage. What gave him the gut? Although Lireesa was also excited to test out her combat strength, now wasn't definitely the best time.

Besides, rangers who were watching her at the moment were more or less wounded from previous attack by this Legend troll and if Lireesa didn't respond, she would never be able to swallow this breath. At the very least, she must severely strike him afterward.

Alleria was also critically injured at the moment and she had no knowledge of what happened afterward, which worried Lireesa a lot. She must also tend to the rest about their condition and fighting close was the least she wanted right now. Lireesa preferred a quick fight using all her advantages to end the battle quickly and helped others where she was needed.

"Fair fight? There is no fairness in a battle. Only an idiot would believe that. Not to mention my subordinates are even outnumbered in this battle and you dare to open your mouth about fairness." Lireesa snarled at the request and drew the bowstring, forming three energy arrows on her bow. Her action already told the answer, there was no negotiation.

The legend troll wasn't annoyed at Lireesa's refusal. In fact, he expected more outrage from Lireesa's mouth but it came from her arrows pointing at him. He wasn't too surprised because in his opinion women were always unreasonable creatures. Even with her negative response, he was confident to draw Lireesa into a close fight after studying the location of previously injured rangers by his spears.

Should Lireesa hear his inner voices, she would shout out prejudice. Assuming she achieved peace and warmer relationships with Quel'Thalas's neighbor despite a huge feud in the past, Lireesa was certain she would be rewarded along with shadow servant of this troll's tribe and her great move to contain other trolls by means of 'divide and conquer'. British Empire in her past life had utilized such diplomacy to extreme measures and her situation also fitted the criteria.

However, this wasn't the point. Lireesa already viewed trolls surrounding the kingdom as threats to the Quel'Thalas's survival. So, it meant coexistence between the two races was impossible. The reason was: the covenant with the barbaric civilization was unreliable, not to mention the lifespan difference would later cause many unsolvable problems, should the agreement between the two be reached. This legend's descendant might later tear up the covenant or took advantage when the elven civilization became weak. For Lireesa, the best alternative was to wipe them out of the map near the border. Trusting trolls was the most foolish act.

Servient attitude right now was because she was strong. When she became weak for a slight moment, these trolls could become her downfall. There was no doubt, the current Lireesa would never reach an agreement with them. Previous Lireesa might cooperate to investigate her husband's case despite her suspicions at the capital because more answers would be revealed in pursuit of the truth.

"Then forgive me but I'll have to force my way." Carrying a machete, the troll hopped toward Lireesa. The rest of the battlefield resumed their fights. By now, rangers had the advantage over trolls in terms of morale, as most trolls were keen to escape from the combat zone. Their leader's words had affected them in the fight; rangers were delighted to exploit this weakness.

Lireesa released her arcane arrows as soon as her opponent moved. As soon as she finished releasing, her fingers plucked quickly and several more arrows flew consecutively, all aiming at the troll. Her arrows were different from conventional arcane arrows since they were all blessed by Thas'dorah, her artifact. Even the arcane arrows turned green to label its mark.

In addition, the damage output was higher and less costly making Lireesa confident to shoot out an infinite amount of arcane arrows, including quite a lot of arcane burst shots or Windburst spells.

The troll's intuition warned him as the arrows flew by to avoid instead of parrying the attack because he couldn't withstand the damage. Trusting his instincts, he dodged all the arrows with his flexible movements. Left and right.

Lireesa wasn't frustrated her arrows missed the targets and continued her attack. Afterimages of her plucking hand and her arm formed as the attack speed increased. Along with arcane shots, she also released explosive arrows. The effect was palpable from the wounds appearing on the trolls, but it wasn't sufficient to put him down. Legend was no joke; the regeneration perk was also enhanced alongside the level upgrade.

The appearance of the troll seemed miserable, but he was actually fine. Just when Lireesa expected this Legendary troll to fight her after zigzagging, he changed his direction toward the injured ranger. She could have laid back and kept firing the arrows but the results would never be optimum.

Her heart sped up at the thought this troll was targeting her weak subordinates. Lireesa wasn't worried at all about the other trolls because she had solved all at once on the previous attack. Even those surviving by luck would never dare to challenge, she was convinced. Why not used Windburst arrows at the Legend troll? Because the answer was simple, this spell required some duration and by the time her arrow was ready or shot, the troll would've escaped or dodged. Her prior attack had already proven this conjecture because the troll was still alive.

Having no choice, she chased to cut off his path and fired a multi-shot of concuss arrows to slow down his speed. Otherwise, she would always be behind when the troll kept slaughtering her subordinates. It worked after the arrows exploded around him as he dodged. With so much coverage of arrows, it became impossible to not get hit and the troll was finally slowed down.

It wasn't for long before he roared out and his speed dramatically rose. He utilized the natural ability of trolls' 'rage', which made the subject immune to magic and increased other attributes by about 30 seconds. It completely nullified the rest of Lireesa's attacks except for physical arrows. And Lireesa dared not cast Windburst for fear of fratricide and the only options left were her arrows on the quiver and close combat.

30 seconds wasn't long but it was enough to kill some of her rangers before she could attack efficiently again. This troll already forced Lireesa to fight close combat. She blessed herself with Windburst and dashed in pursuit, while she continued her attacks which were material arrows this time. These hits had a lower probability of actually hurting the troll.

She cursed at the cunning maniac in front and decided to teach this guy an unforgettable lesson and showed him her title for Ranger-General wasn't easily inherited. Oh! She swore the old hatred and the new hatred weren't simple to be appeased. She was going to tear this guy.

The troll in front also looked back and his hair all stood up in fear after noticing her icy stoic eyes. His body felt chilled and he even wondered if he made mistakes with the choice.

Sorry for being late my book reader.

The author was attracted by something else.

The lore related to Scarlett Crusade.

Pity and compassion were on them as the author read on even if they were brainwashed or lunatic.

Enjoy this chapter ;p !
