Chapter 24

Adriel pursed her lips and studied Archie long enough to send his heart racing again. “He wouldn’t need sleep if you saved him.” She frowned, dropped her umbrella on the ground, and then she was gone. The door sounded as she shut it behind her and Archie shuddered. “I hate it when you leave like that.”

Gael stared at the door. “It’s not like her.”

“You need to leave now.” Adriel’s guard was still glaring at Gael.

“Niall—”

“You had your chance like everyone else. To come crawling back now won’t change your decision.” The man, Niall, sneered and Archie wanted to punch him, not that he’d hit anyone in his entire life, but how could he be so indifferent about another man’s death?

“I never got the information.”

“You should’ve kept closer contact. Ira said you’d decided—”

“Ira never contacted me! No one contacted me. Please, Niall, I’m dying.”
