“Come to the reception when you’ve parked.” Gael closed the door and sauntered toward the entrance. Archie watched his ass as he did, blowing out a breath. What the hell was he doing this far away from his bookshop and Edie?

As soon as Gael was out of sight, the world started to close in. The ghost hand was there, hundreds of them, and he clung to the steering wheel to prevent them from tearing him apart.

He needed to go to Gael.

He parked the car, opened the door, and got out. Then he opened and closed the door three times before he locked the car. He didn’t know why, but he needed to do it to keep the sky from falling down. The rain was drumming at his head, and he shivered.

Jogging across the parking lot, he dove in through the door before any of the ghost hands could catch him.

“That’s twice the price on the sign.” Gael’s growl rang through the air.
