The blackmail
"Caden!" I whisper yelled
"Can we talk?" I say dragging him out of the table
"Armen, y'know...it's not nice to talk about people when they're right next to you" Caden started as we walked out of the cafeteria
"It wasn't talking...now please can I have my phone back" I pleaded with him
"Sure" he said, stretching the phone to me but immediately pulled it back
"...but why would I do that" he asked with a smirk
"Because you're a super nice and amazing Caden...please, pretty please"
"Y'know what!?"
"What?" I snapped, and immediately went back to my pleading face
"I'll give you back your dear phone, and won't link this out if you help me with one thing"
"And what's that?" I asked, eager to get it over with
"I want to you to get me a date with Vee"
"You do know we haven't spoken to each other for like over a century right?" I replied sarcastically
"Well you're the only one closer to her other than Mae and Ella so…" he replied
"True" I said nonchalantly
"Fine!...I'll try" I mumbled the last words
"Good!" He said as he brought out his phone and took pics of my phone
"What are you doing?" I asked with furrowed brows
"Well...just incase you decide to change your mind, then I've got this" he said waving at his phone that has pictures of the chat

"Can I have my phone back now?" I stretched my hand so he can drop the phone on it
Just then we heard the bell for the next class
"See you after school" Caden says, more of asked
"Why?"
"So we can discuss things" he replied
"Yeah okay" I said, walking to my locker

I checked my schedule and groaned as I picked up my Economics book. It's a miracle I'm still alive right now, I saw the light, it was just as bright as I thought, Calculus would most likely be the death of me, my death certificate would probably look like this

Cause of death: being a lazy ass and died of boredom due to Calculus class
(groans in annoyance)
"Hey" I snapped my head up to see Aby walking up to me, with Mady.
I glared at Aby...but of cause she didn't get the memo
"I don't think I've properly introduced you guys" Aby started
"That won't be necessary" I say through gritted teeth
And by the way, with the way Mady was half glaring at me, I'm pretty sure she doesn't like me either, good! 50/50 *eyeroll again
"So I was thinking of a colored theme...how about blue?" Mady turned to ask Aby, well...would you look at that! I just turned invisible
"How about purple, y'know like Astro purple" Aby squealed, they kept on throwing ideas at eachother
"Yellow! Yellow's perfect for you!" I blurted out and immediately mentally face palmed. Both girls turn and looked at me with their eyes saying- what? wait she's here?
"Oh would you look at the time...it's half past I'm no longer needed here" I mumbled and walked away as they continued
I walked into my Economics class...what the hell! There was still three minutes left before class starts! Kill me now! Did I just got to a class before the teacher? I'm I becoming a nerd?
Oh wait..you have to be smart to become one
Where is the Jia I know? How on earth I'm I in class before it started...
"How the fuck is Jia two minutes early to class!?"
I snapped my head up to see Caden leaning on my desk
Of course he just had to be in this class too
"Why is that a surprise?" I mumbled with an eyeroll
"We all know the answer to that, Armen" he says, walking to his seat
Just then Aby, and Mady walked in, Aby sat on an empty seat behind me, while Mady sat next to her (eyerollllllllllllllllll!)

Mr Martins, our economics teacher walked in few minutes later, blabbering the usual stuff, don't get me wrong- he's my favorite teacher, but the whole learning thing sucks. Finally the bell rang.
"Oh and before you go...I've made a list and what each group would be discussing for the project..." Mr Martins started
Spoke too soon!
What!? Project!? Are you kidding me!?
"Every group has four members, you've got from now to next week to gather everything and present, group A and B would be presenting on Monday, it's gonna be a discursive class so you'll have to better be prepared" he continued
Oh great! We're doing his job then
"Group A consist of Abigail River, Caden Mathews, Jia Armen and Aiden Fisher. You'll be the first to present on Monday"
See this is why he's my favorite teacher, he knows not to separate Aby and I
"You'll be discussing on the topic Agriculture and how it affects the economy of the country, fellow students are allowed to ask questions so I repeat! Be prepared" he said the last part specifically looking and me as he passes a sheet of paper to everyone.
I don't even know how I feel about Caden being in the same group as me, and well Aiden, He's smart so it's a bonus. Aiden and I had Calculus and English during freshmen year, he was the new kid then. I hated him, his face and entire existence for no reason. He did nothing to me...it's just-

We've never spoken, until when I gave him my maths assignment to help me with. He actually did and I kinda hated him less
Well at least Aby's here, which mean we're getting an 'A' for sure. This is exactly why I love group project, I get to slack and let others do all the work while I get an 'A' especially since the topic is Agriculture, just explain how hoes and axes work and boom an A
Why is that even a thing in this class?
Mr Martins handed me a sheet of paper that had all that topics we needed to dig into. We were asked to discuss the meaning of Agriculture, identify it's main components, explain the main features of its various system and discuss the importance of agriculture to the economic development.
Aby groans as we walk out the class, taking a peek at the paper in her hand
"Whats wrong, you think we're gonna get a 'B'? That's actually not a problem, I mean B is right after an A, and you don't have to worry, I'm good with a B, actually...I'm perfectly fine with a B" I rambled as we made our way to our locker
"No that's not the problem, actually this is pretty much an easy topic...we can get all the notes in the library maybe tomorrow or whenever" Aby said
"Oh great! So what's the problem then?"
"Caden..." she starts to say, but I cut her off
" I know right! I thought of thesame thing! But it's okay...like you said, it's an easy one, so we don't have to worry about lazy ass Caden..." my rant was cut off...
"I'm the lazy one?" Caden asked with a scoff
"Hell yeah you are"
"Armen! The only reason you're not growling and throwing out curses on why you hate school and why the word 'homework' 'test' 'exams' 'school' exists, it's because it's a fucking group project, which gives you a chance to slack off and do nothing!"
"That is sooo not true! I-"
"This is why!" Aby says cutting me off, Caden and I both glared at her
"You guys are always fighting" she continued
"How are we actually gonna work when, sorry Jia..." she turned to me and gave me a small apologetic smile that says sorry but this is the truth
"...But you are, lazy! And Caden, well you always never show up"
"Yeah take that!" I said to Caden's face when she said the last part, and to my sad little life...they both shook their heads in disappointment
Damn I hate this people!
"Yeah well I'll see you after school dearest friend" I directed it to Caden in my act to be more mature
"What! Fuck don't call me that" he snapped back
I blew out a breath that says well I tried then forced a smile and walked to my next class
The class went by in a blur, it was French and none of my friends(not friends) took this class, making me want to swallow myself whole. Finally! My favorite bell rang...living this shit hole. I survived!!! I freaking survived.
