Birth Of The Disaster

Before we start I'm just going to provide a bit of context. The mc is from the 'Far East' in the world of Danmachi. I've been looking at the timeline of Danmachi and on the '12 years earlier' section there was a failed revolution. I don't believe there was much context about that. If there was and I have missed it then see this is an AU version of the events. Gojouno Kaguya (MCs Sister) left around the same time as the revolution ended, but in this, I've made the events a bit different for story purposes. I'm going to make Gojouno leave the far east at the start of the revolution rather than the end that is listed.

Judging by the timeline, there is no mention of the start of the revolution either, so I'm going to make the revolution start 19 years earlier than canon, the same year the Fromel twins joined the Freya familia. Due to the fact that Gojouno left the far east 12 years earlier than canon, and she was 19 at the time of her death, which was 5 years before canon, she was 12 years old when she left the far east. She was in Orario for 7 years, in that time span she became a level 4. I'm not having a 5 year old child leaving her home country to a totally different one, as that would be weird even for Danmachi. So rather than 24 years before canon when she is usually born, I'm going to make her be born 32 years before canon, she will be the same age as Ottar by the time canon comes around. This is also the same year Finn's village was attacked by monsters and gave him determination to become stronger to become the 'light' for his race. I'm going to make the MC be born 18 years before canon, and the revolution to go on for a bit longer for plot purposes.

For verse equalization purposes I'm making it so only those with a high affinity with 'mind' (such as elves or experienced adventurers, those that are peak level 1+. By peak level 1 I mean peak average level 1, not Bell with his utter nonsense stats at level 1) can see the MC's flames and cursed energy. Nobody else will be using cursed energy in the story.

It was never mentioned if Gojouno's family were noble or not, but for this story they will be.

Gojouno will be 13 years old at the start of the revolution. Bell was 14 at the start of canon so I don't think that age is outrageous. There is also no mention in the timeline at what time Astraea descended so I don't think there are any plotholes. I've never actually finished Danmachi nor any of it's side stories. On the wiki, for Gojouno, there is a relative called 'unnamed sister', for the sake of the story the MC is replacing her. I'm currently running off of fanfiction knowledge, hopes and dreams. Hopefully I don't fumble.

3rd POV:

In a country scarred from war, there is a lavish shrine which displays the status of its owners. In this building, all of its inhabitants are currently scampering around in a hurried manner. There are screams of pain from a distressed, middle aged woman, and a man who is clearly anxious due to him wandering around impatiently.

"You are going to be fine my lady, just stay calm and keep pushing" an older looking woman, in an even tone and clear voice said.

The distressed woman didn't have the strength to reply, instead she just gave an incredulous look towards the older woman.

"You've done this before dear, you can make it through this" the man said, looking even more exhausted than his wife.

With a final scream of pain there was a cry, reminiscent of a screech more so than a cry.

"Hand me my child Himani" the mother said in a noble way, which was more pathetic than awe inspiring due to her current state.

The midwife, Hinami, handed the mother her child. "It is a boy my lady".

"Dear, don't you think he looks... a bit strange? Why does he have dark green hair? Luckily he still has your family's purple eyes" the father said with clear confusion in his voice.

"It doesn't matter Akira, he is our son and we will love him all the same".

" What should we name him Keiko?" The man said with some excitement.

"We did have many boy names that we thought of before the birth... but I think Jogo fits him the best"

"Jogo. I think that's a wonderful name. Jogo Gojouno. I will be teaching you how to wield a sword young man" Akira said while fussing over the baby.

"You and your swords Akira, you should've become an adventurer like our daughter if you liked them so much" Hinami said in a frustrated manner.

In an angered state Akira said "I'm still not happy that Gojouno ran off to become some damn adventurer at Orario. What's her goddesses name again? Astraea? She should've been here, helping with the revolution!".

"That's enough Akira. Not in front of the baby. You should be happy our daughter has something she wants to do herself." Keiko said with a tone of finality.

"You're right Keiko. Show me to little Jogo's room Hanami".

Hanami, taking Jogo from Keiko replied "Follow me my lord".

6 Years Later

A young boy with strangely dark green hair, with black splotches embedded in it was sat in the library situated within the estate. He was reading the book "Magic Theory, For Beginners, Written By Riveria Ljos Alf". He was clearly having issues with reading it but was fascinated and enamored by what 'magic' entails.

"Miss Hanami, what does this word mean?" Jogo asked.

Hanami, clearly tired with the boys antics and spontaneous interest replied "That word says grimoire young master, from my understanding it is what adventurers use to gain instant access to magic".

"WOW, that's amazing Hanami, could I have a grimoire?"

Hanami, speaking in a serious tone said "That is very unlikely young master, they are very rare and very expensive, especially in the east."

"Ahw that's a shame" Jogo said downtrodden. "I really wanted to use mag-"

Jogo suddenly stopped speaking and was looking blankly into space.

"Young master?" Hanami said confused.

Jogo, all of a sudden, grasped his chest clearly in pain.

"Young master!" Hanami said with clear panic.

Hanami took a moment to regather thoughts. After a quick cough and a deep breath she said-

"Young master, are you alright? Do you need the doctor or are you faking again to skip out on your studies?" Hanami said with exasperation, used to the boys tricks.

"I'm... I'm alright Hanami, but... can you see this?" Jogo questioned, channeling some strange purple energy into his hands.

"See what, young master? There's nothing there?" Hanami answered in confusion.

"Hmm. What do you think it could be Hanami? " Jogo spoke with clear amusement, channeling some strange purple energy into his hands.

"Oh oh oh, can you see this Hanami?"

"See what?"

Jogo, using the energy as 'fuel' then channeled flames onto his palm

"There is still nothing there young master" Hanami spoke in clear boredom. "Get back to studying".

"No wait, watch this" Jogo spoke in an thrilled manner.

Jogo then pointed his palm towards a nearby book then channeled the flame towards it. Unknown to Jogo an ember made it's way towards a bookshelf.

"Young master?... What did you just do?"

"I set the book on fire. Can you not see the fire?"

"I can see it now. Come with me young master we are going to see your mother"

"What? I thought you said she was busy with work and that is why I couldn't see her today" Jogo spoke clearly saddened.

"This is a far more serious matter young master, follow me."

Keiko POV:

"So including the property damage, the destruction of vases around the estate and the ruining of my garden how much do I owe you?"

"You owe 5 million Valis my lady, that includes all taxes, labor and all materials used"

I'm going to murder that child.

"Okay, thank you"

After watching the clearly greedy leader of the construction company walk out I make a grab for my secret stash of alcohol which only I know about.

Just as I am about to grab my favorite wine there is a knock on the door... for crying out loud.

"My lady, there is something I must speak to you about." My personal maid Hanami, who I have knew since a child, walked in.

"Hanami what's wrong. What has Jogo done again?" I say, in a tired tone hiding the bottle of wine in my stash.

"Jogo has burned down a portion of the library miss"

"... Jogo has done what now? How did he even manage that? I thought after burning some of my garden, all flames within the estate were stoked and replaced with those fancy magic devices from Orario?"

"Well my lady, he created the flames himself. I do not know how he did it but he did. I think he can somehow create and manipulate flames himself."

"What? How is that possible? Is it some sort of magic Hanami?"

"No there were no magic circles nor any chants. But my lady... isn't chant less magic supposed to be next to impossible?"

"That is what I thought to. Bring my son here Hanami."

"He is just outside my lady. Jogo please come in"

There he was. My second and hopefully last child, Jogo. He is much more mischievous than our first child Gojouno and loves to cause chaos. Now he can supposedly create flames? I just hope he won't have the same bad habits as Gojouno.

"Jogo, dear. Can you please show me your flames?"

"Uhm are you sure mother? They are quite dangerous." Jogo said clearly confused by his mother.

"It will be alright Jogo".

"Alright then." My son said. He then lifted his palm up and... nothing. I cannot see anything there. Is this some sort of prank by the both of them? But I can feel some heat coming from his hand. How can he manipulate an element without a chant, or any words/rituals?

"Alright that's enough Jogo, why don't you go and find daddy and go and practice sword fighting with him?"

"Alright mother, I will heheh"

Time to go back to that damn construction company again *sigh*

Jogo Pov:

My father Akira is very unusual. He is usually always excited about something or other. But whenever he picks up a sword he becomes very serious. He wants me to know how to use a sword... but I don't like them. I much prefer using no weapon at all.

I do not know why I awakened the ability to use flames but I will make sure my family is safe from the war. I have not experienced war myself, nor am I allowed to read any books or ask anyone about it. Hanami and Mother forbade me from doing so. What's so bad about war anyways? What happens in war? I know that people die, but what else?

*Knock* *Knock*

"Enter"

My father spoke. He always acts so serious and silly until he realizes it's me.

"It's me Father, Mother said to come and practice swords with you."

Although I don't like using swords, I can tell my father is in a rather unpleasant mood, so I want to cheer him up. I wonder why he is in an irritable mood?

"Ah, it's you Jogo, have you finished your studies on magic?" My father spoke in a much more pleasant mood after seeing it was me.

"Yes, I have finished father. Shall we go now?"

My father often broods by himself when nobody is around. He thinks I haven't noticed. I wonder if he becomes upset due to my sister leaving. I wonder what my sister is like. I've heard mother talk about her and how she is crass yet at the same time noble. I've heard she is also very good with swords! I wonder who she is compared to father...

"Jogo? Come on stop messing around". My father said in a serious tone.

"Coming father".

We make our way over the the training grounds. There is nobody there, like usual. I pick up my favorite wooden sword. Father, like always grabbed the same one. I do not know how that hasn't broken after years of use.

I get into a longpoint stance with my wooden sword, while father gets into a plow stance. He is taking it more seriously than usual as he usually doesn't even bother going into a stance.

Channeling that strange energy into my sword I prepare to attack father... only for my sword to combust into flames.

"Jogo, drop that now!" My father said with clear panic.

"Its alright dad, my flames don't hurt me" I said with amusement. "See" I say while swinging it around and touching the flames.

"Wha... what? How did you do that Jogo?"

"I learned how to earlier in the library. Mother thinks it could be some form of magic."

"Magic..." Father said with his hand on his chin.

"Jogo, don't show anybody this magic of yours to anybody. Am I understood?"

"N-No I won't I promise". I say stuttering like a fool. I've never seen father so serious before.

"Go to your room Jogo, I need to speak with your mother"

"Alright, I'll go now dad." I say dropping the ashes of my favorite sword. *sigh* I really didn't think that through.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akira POV:

This is unprecedented. Chantless magic. Chantless elemental magic at that. That fire... was scorching hot. Lady Amaterasu can never find out about our son. She will force us, be it politically or via strength for Jogo to join her familia, and by extension the war.

We've managed to escape the war through our money, but I fear our money will start becoming less useful as time goes on. A child, especially Jogo who has been sheltered from the world is naive and vulnerable to flowery words and may wish to join the war effort on his own if somebody had the will to manipulate him.

What are we going to do at the next ball?

There was a battle that was recently won, so there is a ball where everyone involved in the war effort will be, including the gods and their familia's. Why did that damn Susanoo start this war anyways?

Knocking three times to give my wife time to hide her alcohol I then enter.

"Dear, we need to talk about Jogo's recent... development..."

Chapter End!

This was my first time writing anything so any suggestions or anything at all really are appreciated.

Jogo is but a naive child at the moment but he will change as he grows.

If you couldn't tell Jogo's cursed energy is hot in nature. Just like how Hakari's is rough, Jogo's in this fic is hot enough to burn wood (at the moment). He hasn't experimented much with his abilities yet but trust, he will.

Let me cook.

That's all, thanks for reading.

EDIT: Read Stats chapter, changed names around as I had them wrong. Why in the wiki is Kaguya's first name last, but Ais's first name is first. Likely because she is from the far east. Who knows. Anyways, should be fixed now.

I'm going to stack some chapters rather than release them one at a time. So the next chapter may be a bit late. I don't have a set schedule but I will write when I can and have no plans of dropping.
