Is it wrong to take a break in Danmachi?

Alvar has finished his goal by protecting his world from its evil and succeeded in building a kingdom to help the races live in harmony. Still, after living for so long and working on his kingdom he wished to retire, so he picked his most trusted friends and taught them how to lead the kingdom and look after it in his stead. Afterward, Alvar with the help of his magic, items and elementals traveled to a different world to rest and complete his promise. =============================================== A/N This is the first time I wrote a ff so any suggestions and criticism are welcome so that I can improve. Also, I don't own anything but my OCs and I am mainly using Danmatchi as a template so I might change things like some monsters or characters and so on. English isn't my first language so do correct some of the mistakes I make!

Meeting

Alvar stored the giant magic stone that was dropped by the Goliath inside his storage and walked to the 18th floor, called Rivira.

This floor is filled with large forests and lakes. Inside the forests, there are blue crystals of different sizes that reflect the light from above causing the forests to be filled with a pale blue glow.

The high ceilings are filled with beautiful shining crystals of two different colours, the crystals in the center resemble the sun and the blue crystals that surround the center resemble the sky. These crystals' brightness changes depending on the time of day.

Rivira is a town on the 18th floor. This town is fully operated by the adventurers that stay on this floor with no affiliation with the guild.

Alvar did a quick scan of the floor and walked to a forest where he didn't feel any presences. He completely ignored the beauty or the crystals on the floor. He was only paying attention to the glowing stone in his hand.

'It's better for us to talk in a place where no one was.' Alvar continued his walk to the forest feeling the 'pull' of the stone getting stronger notifying him that she was on her way towards him.

'This feels more stressful than the fight against that 'dog'...' Alvar chuckled, he was trying to calm down his anxiety but his mind keeps drifting to the question that's been haunting him for a while now.

The question of 'What if she doesn't remember me?' keeps popping up inside his mind the brighter the stone gets.

Alvar took a deep breath and thought ' It doesn't matter if she remembers me or not. She would still follow the stone either way... I'm just hoping her life here was better than the previous one.'

-------Scene Change------

"What is with you today Cali?" Riveria asked in concern staring at the black and red haired girl in front of her.

"What do you mean?" Cali asked completely ignoring the stares she was receiving from her party members.

Cali was more focused on the stone to be bothered by their stares. Her mind is filled with questions that she wants to ask Alvar.

"Do you know what's wrong with her? Usually, she enjoys expeditions but this time it seems like she is more focused on leaving than anything else." Tiona asked Tione curiously

"I don't know. It looks more like she wants to... go somewhere?." Tione shrugged.

"She somehow reminds me of you," Tiona said causing everyone to look at Tiona, with the exception of Cali who keeps her focus on the stone.

"How so?" Tione asked curiously.

"The way she seems so rushed and kind of look... happy and anxious? It just reminds me of how you are every time you have to go and meet the captain." Tiona said causing everyone to freeze briefly and started staring at Cali.

Their expressions were all filled with shock and disbelief.

"...She never told us anything about that necklace of hers and never allowed me to touch it... and Loki mentioned that she had amnesia when we brought Cali to her... Could it be that she remembered something when the stone inside of the necklace started glowing?" Riveria was interested in Cali's past ever since she saw her unique magic.

It's not every day you see someone using flames the colour of blood... with no chant and magic circle no less.

"Leave her be... You should remember how she was when we found her outside Orario and whatever happened to her that caused her to lose her memories must have been quite the trauma... So if that stone of hers helped her remember someone that makes her act like this is a good thing. So you should not let your scholar side ruin it for her. You can ask her when we get back to the Manor or wait for her to tell us," Gareth, a dwarf, said to Riveria

Riveria is a serious, calm and collected elf but it tends to drop a bit due to her interest in magic.

"I know. It is the first time I have seen her this happy ever since she joined our Familia. I am not planning on ruining it just because of my curiosity and interest." Riveria let out a small smile and shook her head lightly.

The Loki Familia made their way to Rivira and started setting up their tents to rest for a bit.

"You all can walk around or rest for a bit before we exit the dungeon... where is Cali?" Finn after a short pause noticed that Cali was missing.

---------------Scene Change--------------

After entering the 18th floor, Cali instantly left the group and started running in the direction the stone was pulling.

Her mind was starting to get cluttered with small pieces of memories... They were memories of her past... most of them filled with pain and regret.

She remembered that she was born in a village of mages who practice dark magic with the intent of using it for good. She remembered how kind they were and how her parents would teach her how to control her emotions... but she remembered that she failed to do so.

Images of them being hung on crosses filled her mind briefly but they quickly left when she remembered a new memory.

Someone that helped set her free and gave her a sense of safety... even if it was for a brief time it meant a lot to her... She can finally meet him again.

The person that gave her a second chance. The one that gave her hope and helped her escape her pain.

There were still a few missing pieces in her mind, but that didn't bother her at all. The only thing she was focussing on was the stone.

"We can finally meet again... Alvar," Cali let out a genuine smile with a few tears slowly running down her cheeks. Her mind was still a bit of a mess, but it started getting clearer the closer she came to Alvar.

Cali entered a forest and ran past a couple of trees only to suddenly stop in her tracks and froze on the spot. In front of her was a masked figure.

The figure lowered his hood showing his white hair and took off his mask. His golden eyes lit up with happiness but Cali only focused on the scar on his left eye.

She suddenly felt a sense of guilt rushing over her.

"Alvar..."
