Ironheart pirates (SIOC)

Snow, who has reincarnated in this wonderful world, didn't have much aspirations of becoming a great pirate, and he would never join the Marines. Definitely not after what they had done to his new home. Dying to sickness, left with nothing, Snow decided that if he were done anyway, he would try his luck in this vast world and at least fuck some things for the World government.

Chapter 6

Sengoku, the Fleet Admiral of the Marines, furrowed his brows at the sound of Garp, the Vice Admiral and Hero of the Marines, eating his crackers. If he wasn't buried under the paperwork, he could ignore Garp easily, but as new pirate crews started to rise and enter the grand line, he was buried under the work, and the higher-ups wanted results. Garp being here didn't help one bit.

As he was about to yell at Garp for him to stay quiet or leave, his Den Den Mushi started to ring. He could already tell it wasn't anything good, but he still picked it up. His brows furrowed further as he listened to Rear Admiral Chaz's report. As he expected, nothing good ever comes from picking up his Den Den Mushi. Even Garp got interested when he heard the report.

"Gravedigger Snow?" Garp asked, laughing at the ridiculous name. "I say these days the Marines have no imagination. What kind of name is Snow, anyway, and gravedigger? What? Did he work in a cemetery before or something?"

"In the short time he has become a pirate, not only did he defeat a Marine captain and his hundred-man crew singlehandedly, but he also invaded King Chap's palace, severely injured the King, and stole all his valuables," the Rear Admiral continued his report. "He is strong and now possesses a Mythical Zoan devil fruit power. He is more dangerous than the Surgeon of Death and requires extreme attention."

"Do we know where he is now?" A Mythical Zoan-type devil fruit user will only bring disaster to the world. Sengoku needed to stop the new rookie before he became trouble.

"I, Rear Admiral Chaz, am in search of him," The newly promoted Rear Admiral liked to flaunter his title. "But sadly, we don't know where he is now. He managed to escape. Still, as every pirate, he will try to enter Grand Line sooner or later; I will gather all nearby marines and chase after him."

"Make sure you do such that," Sengoku replied, ending the call.

The Heart Pirates, the Bellamy Pirates, the Hawkins Pirates, and now another rookie joined the fray. It was no wonder the Marines couldn't handle the pirates from the North Blue. One by one, they pop up with powerful devil fruit powers. And it seems the new one is even more dangerous than the rest as he had no reservations about attacking royalty.

Unlike Garp who didn't look like he cared and looked for another packet of crackers, Sengoku was already planning to find everything there was in finding about the new rookie. Before the new bounty was issued, he needed to give his superiors all the information about Snow. He could already tell how the Gorosei would have his head if he let another rookie rise in the Grand Line.

The sun was too much for Snow. His pale skin couldn't take direct sunlight without burning red and starting to itch. At least here in the North Blue, the sun wasn't too strong, but it still bothered Snow, as he had to hide under his umbrella. He has to say the boats in this world are something else, as a simple fishing boat can support him, his crew, and his half-ton umbrella without trouble.

Too bad his body wasn't in as good condition as his boat. He has already used all the herb mix to lessen the pain. His chest tightened with each breath he took, making it extremely hard to breathe. Caribou was looking suspiciously at Snow as he struggled to hide his pain. Snow did not doubt that Caribou wouldn't hesitate to betray him the moment he felt like he could defeat Snow.

"How much longer?" Snow asked as he tried to rest to the best of his ability. "Never mind; what would you two idiots know?"

Snow knew that he needed to get some medicine. Reiju's poison was making his body worse by the second. His herbs have helped a bit, but he needed more; otherwise, he wouldn't even be able to find Law. He couldn't die just yet. Snow also wanted to see the sky of the Grand Line and the New World. He wasn't satisfied with only seeing the sun and the blue skies of North Blue.

"I see the land!" Caribou said with a laugh, probably happy that he could spend all the money they stole.

Snow sighed in relief as land was seen on the horizon. It seems that luck hasn't abandoned him just yet. Once he gets medicine, he should be able to buy a nice big ship and hire a crew. Then, even if Law entered the Grand Line, Snow could follow him. But hopefully, he can find Law sooner rather than later, as Snow didn't know how much time he had left.

"Whiteland Kingdom," Snow read the sign as they entered the port. "Remember what I said. Look around and see if anyone knows where the Surgeon of Death is. Don't get too distracted, and return to the boat by nightfall. And don't go around showing off our money, or I will beat you up. Hard."

Snow put the bag of gold and precious stones over his shoulder as he watched the brothers walking into the town. Once they were out of his sight, Snow leaned on the wall of a nearby building and coughed up the blood that was stuck in his lungs and throat. As Snow cleaned his mouth of the blood, he walked into the town, too, to see some pawnshop or something to sell his valuables.

It didn't take long to find a big store that seemed to sell various things, jewelry being one of them. Seeing it was quite empty, Snow walked up to the counter where an older lady with glasses was waiting for customers. With a swing of his hand, Snow put down his bag and opened it, revealing what was inside. It took a moment for the older lady to react, but she put on a business face once she did.

"I have to ask before we continue this transaction," The older lady said as she inspected the gold and gems. "Did you steal it?"

"I found it lying around," Snow replied, giving his best smile, not realizing his teeth were bloody from the coughing. "You know how it is. Some rich noble left it for someone like me to take."

"One million berry," The older lady said.

"Fifty million," Snow countered.

"Two million."

"Forty-five million."

"Four million."

"Forty million."

"Five million, my last offer," The older lady said, crossing her arms.

"Fifty-five million, and I won't break your face for trying to rip me off," Snow replied, still giving her bloody smile.

"You think I am afraid of some no-name pirate that got a bit lucky?"

Snow smiled as he looked behind him, finding five men with swords and pistols looking at him. They were quite big, buff, and tall. Snow reached behind his back and took out his umbrella. He didn't do anything but lean it to the counter; it didn't take long for the wood to crack and splinter before the whole counter broke, and the umbrella fell to the ground, cracking the marble floor.

"It seems you are lucky, for it could have been your head."

Snow walked out of the store with a happy smile with a suitcase in his hand. But once the sun hit his head and he felt dizzy, Snow's smile disappeared. He quickly looked around, and after asking a few passersby, he found a medicine shop. At this moment, the pain made Snow's head spin. But smelling the aroma from the shop that reminded him of Doc's office, Snow felt relieved.

"I want everything on this list," Snow said to the shopkeeper and presented the note Doc had written him. Snow had no idea what was written here as Doc's handwriting was unreadable, but the shopkeeper only looked at it briefly before nodding. "Do you have everything written here?"

"A few herbs are rare, but as long as you have the money, there is no problem."

"Good, pack it all, and I mean all you have. Money isn't an issue," Snow said as he revealed this suitcase of berries. "And add something to negate or cure poison."

"What kind of poison?" The shopkeeper asked.

"You tell me," Snow replied, grimacing as a pang of pain ran through his chest. "Just give all your antidotes; I am sure one of them will work on me."

"I am not a doctor, but I have worked with medicinal herbs my all life, and I will tell you if you consume the wrong antidote, it will only make it worse. Before coming to me, I would advise you to visit a doctor."

"It is Agehaguera," a voice behind him said. "It came from a giant butterfly that releases toxic pollen when it flaps its wings. I can tell from how your chest is tightening and little pink spots on your neck, making breathing hard for you. And it isn't poison. It is a toxin. There is a difference."

"Agehaguera?" The shopkeeper asked in shock before shaking his head. "It can't be; the toxins coming from that butterfly would paralyze even a bear; no man has ever survived longer than a few hours infected by it."

"No normal man could survive it, but someone who has been consuming medicine that helps with the symptoms of the toxins would gain some resistance to it," a man a head shorter than Snow and with a fur hat replied. "If you don't give him the antidote, he might collapse not long from now. Then nothing will save him."

"Right away," The shopkeeper didn't seem to like to risk it and quickly looked in shelves before giving Snow a small vial of blueish liquid. The shopkeeper sighed, seeing Snow drinking it and not having any bad effects on him. The antidote worked pretty fast as Snow felt the pain lessen within his chest. "Phew, you have to thank this young man over there. Otherwise, your life would be over by now."

"For someone called the Surgeon of Death, you seemed a bit too keen on helping others," Snow said as he faced Trafalgar Law. "But don't take it badly. I am sincerely grateful for your help. But I must insist that you help me a bit more."

"Bounty hunter?" Law asked as he assessed Snow. "I am only here to buy some medicine, so I will give you a chance to leave."

"That I can't do," Snow replied as he stood his ground. "You have something I desperately need, and you will give it to me. It doesn't matter to me if you like it or not."

"So be it then," Snow let you a sigh of relief as only now realized how he must have sounded. But then Law raised his hand. "Room. Shambles."

One moment, Snow was in the shop; another moment, he was outside on the street. Realizing what happened, Snow looked around before he found a familiar shop. Snow berated himself inside his head for how poorly he chose his words, but he was dead tired and had to endure immeasurable pain all night, so it wasn't surprising that he had trouble thinking straight.

"You again?" Law asked as Snow entered the shop, where the Surgeon of Death was looking over his purchase. "Haven't you had enough?"

"Firstly, how could I leave without my money and medicine?" Snow asked, opening the suitcase left behind and giving the shopkeeper a big stack of cash before taking the herbs that were packed for him. "Secondly, it is a misunderstanding. I said things poorly. All I want is to talk with you."

"Sirs, if you are going to fight, could you please do it outside," The shopkeeper said as he could tell that Law had devil fruit power and didn't want anything to do with them.

"I don't have time for this," Law told Snow as he left the shop.

Snow quickly followed behind him. He had found Law sooner than expected but hadn't prepared what he would say to him. And now it seems Snow has left a bad first impression. Still, nothing was lost yet. He only needed to ask for Law to help him to get rid of his illness. And it wasn't like he couldn't offer a lot of money for it. So, Snow was prepared to say his piece but was stopped by the untimely arrival of Caribou.

"Captain, we found someone who can help you find the Surgeon of Death," Caribou said, seeing Snow in the street with a big smile and tied up and beaten polar bear with orange clothes behind him.

This time, Snow could see the transparent field surrounding him and Law. Leave it to Caribou to fuck things up. Snow threw his suitcase at Law when he saw him move his hand. It allowed Snow to turn himself into a bird form and fly out of the Law's room. From how Law looked at him, Snow knew that no talking would be enough to stop Law from trying to kill them. He would need to defeat Law before explaining the situation to him.
