Chapter 76. The bloodline

Inside the nameless semi-plane,

Near a group of 35 volcanos, the bodies of fire beasts were piled, blood flowed like a river.

In this semi-plane, the volcanos were erupting every hour, and usually, that molten lava would be greedily devoured by the fire beasts that lived there. But now, all they cared about was saving their lives from an unknown being that came from the outside.

*Shii*

The 'unknown being's right hand turned bloodred and increased in size and length. Then, with his extremely sharp fingers, he cut the magical beasts into pieces.

"Grr…"

The sound of a sword strike swiftly travelled through the vast distances, scaring the other beasts as well.

"Near this spot…" Tirus murmured as he poured more spiritual force into his prophetic dark heart and after a few minutes, "Below!" He yelled in joy as he immediately used a spell to destroy the volcano in front of him, forming a pit with a radius of about 800 km.

Fiery world,

On the nameless island, headquarters of the Shadow Union,

Yule was wearing his usual attire of black, in his hands was a silver sword, which, along with his ashen skin, made him look similar to a noble vampire. But no one dared to even think in this direction.

Elves took pride in their identity, mistaking them for a being of any other race was the biggest insult to them.

Just as Yule was admiring his newly polished silver sword, the emergency bell rang.

"Lord! It's an emergency, hundreds…no, thousands of magi are approaching us out of nowhere." A magus cried out in alarm before.

In the semi-plane,

At the bottom of the pit that Tirus entered.

There was a rank 5 brown scaled dragon coiled up around its eggs, and among its eggs was a crystal.

'There it is, finally!' Seeing the round, translucent crystal the size of a small mound, Tirus internally exclaimed in joy and a hint of excitement could be traced in his voice.

Inside the crystal, there was a sword. It looked no different from the common large swords. Its model was full of antiquity and the middle section of its blade had obvious cracks on it, with the tip of the sword missing.

Even more so, there was the drop of golden blood on the blade of the broken sword, which looked as if it contained a life of its own. It took the form of a spiral and shone with radiance continuously.

This drop of blood was the sun's child bloodline. The greatest treasure Tirus ever found in this world.

"Gr...rh" The dragon suddenly breathed loudly which almost made Tirus's heart skip a beat.

It didn't matter how strong or confident he was, but if he were to fight this rank 5 dragon or even just disturb this dragon's sleep, then he'd have to say goodbye to his life unless he outran it.

[Beep! Scan complete. The target is an earth elemental ancient dragon, however, the bloodline of the sun's child is slowly altering its genes, thus changing its race and making it a lava dragon]

[If host were to fight this beast here in this pit, then the only result would be host's eventual death]

[If host wishes to steal the crystal, then chances of angering this dragon is 88.72%]

'Is that so? What are the chances of me fleeing successfully?'

[53.28% along with severe injuries]

"That much is enough."

Tirus took out the special storage pouch that he had once created to store living beings in. After two seconds, the entire massive crystal was stored inside the pouch.

The dragon, however, noticed it and opened its eyes and immediately used its spiritual force, filling the pit with it, burning everything.

"Nice try." Tirus murmured as he quickly turned into a ray of light and exited the semi-plane.

But something unexpected happend. Tirus, even in his light form, could feel himself burning.

After exiting the semi-plane,

Tirus stopped for a bit a looked at where the semi-plane was. He had gotten some serious burns, it meant nothing when he saw the rewards of his labour.

'The Blazing Flame Monarch had such a treasure in her world, yet she didn't even know about it.'

Just as Tirus was thinking this, several notifications barraged him at once.

[The host's muscles are burnt]

[Beep! The burn is too severe, unable to naturally recover. Initiate a regeneration spell?]

"No need." He already had a plan in mind.

[Lord soul collector, save us! —6 hours ago]

[Soul Collector, Our base has been attacked by an unknown organization, you are needed. —18 hours ago]

As there were hundreds of such messages.

"What do I have to do with your organization?" Tirus murmured. He came here not because it was a mission given by Jupiter's lightning, but because the benefits he could get in this world were immense, the Sun's child bloodline was one such example.

Casually killing one or two enemies for these people was still fine, but he definitely wouldn't go all out for their sake. Furthermore, they weren't even mentioned in the canon, so it was only destined for them to die.

"But I still need to use the interplaner formation." Tirus didn't need to justify his action of letting the Shadow Union be eradicated, as any magi would do the same if they were in his place.

And so, he made his way to the Union.

The headquarters of Shadow Union,

Corpses lay off the ground and a multitude of spells could be seen being launched in the air.

"Kill them all." A rank 4 lizardman said as hundreds of thousands of fiery birds attacked the headquarters.

This attack would have been the end for the Shadow Union if not for the defensive formation.

The other rank 4 magi who had come from the magus world had already been killed, for the members of the Shadow Union, this was a very helpless situation.

'When is he returning?' Yule thought as a sense of dread assaulted him, 'Should I just run?'

But soon, this thought was met with a harsh retort of his own, 'No, our organization mostly has dark elves, how can I abandon my own people? Running away with them is neither practical, nor is it a long-lasting solution.'

A myriad of emotions and thoughts were stirred up in his mind at this moment of crisis, with no hope. But then, he saw it. That light.

That light wasn't beautiful like the one of fairy tales, in contrast, it was a dark light which gave a feeling of despair to anyone who directly saw it.

But this feeling was exactly what was giving Yule the hope he needed the most, "He has come."

To be continued…
