Ash wand claimed

On Halloween morning Neville woke up to the delicious smell of baking Pumpkin wafting through the air.

Professor Flitwick announced in Charms that he thought that they were ready to start making objects fly, something they had all been dying to try since they seen him demonstrate it.

Professor Flitwick put the class in pairs to practice the spell.

Neville had originally thought that Hermione was being nosy during the movie but now he knew that she was only helping Ron as his spell practice partner.

He had been paired with Thomas while Harry had been paired with Seamus.

Hermione and Ron meanwhile were incensed to end up as partners.

The situation now was that no girl would be happy to partner with Ron.

It was just that Ron was blissfully unaware of the fact.

"Now don't forget to practice that nice wrist movement we've been practising!" squeaked Professor Flitwick perched atop a pile of books as usual.

"Swish and flick, remember swish and flick. And saying Magic words properly is very important, too - never forget Wizard Baruffio who said "s" instead of "f" and found himself on the floor with a buffalo on his chest."

It was very difficult. They swisher and flicked but the feather they were supposed to send skywards just lay on the desk.

Seamus accidentally set fire to his feather and Harry had to put it out with his hat.

Neville who had been working hard for these two months managed to make his feather fly with little to no effort.

With this he had finally pushed his spell proficiency to 40 and was eligible for the 100 percent affinity ash wand.

If he quipped that wand then he would be able to show far greater strength than his current less than 5 percent wand.

If he had to extend some effort to lifting a feather with his current wand then he would be able to lift a giant with that one.

It may seem exaggerated but even among other Wands in the wizarding world people who can claim to have more than 90 percent affinity with their wand could be counted on one hand.

All of them were adept in using the simplest spells to do wonders.

This was the so called wand affinity that restricted people to certain Wands.

When Harry had snatched a wand as his wand had broken he had been able to barely perform to his usual standards.

The originalNeville had greater affinity to the current wand as he was it's previous owners son.

But the new Neville had to suffer greater to perform the simplest spells.

If he hadn't practised the one month continuously before Hogwarts it would have taken him more than 4 months to achieve his current completion just in time for the first year Halloween.

"Wingardium Leviosa, " Ron shouted

"You are saying it wrong" Neville heard Hermione snap. "Make the "gar" sound nice and long."

"You do it, then, if you are so clever," Ron snarled.

Hermione rolled up her sleeves of her gown, flicked her wand and said, "Wingardium Leviosa."

Their feather rose up the desk and hovered about four feet above their heads.

Flitwick exclaimed in joy and awarded 5 points to Gryffindor of course with Neville's earlier performance they had secured 10 points for Gryffindor in this class alone.

Ron was in a very bad temper at the end of the class.

"It's no wonder no one can stand her," He said to Harry as they pushed their way into the crowded corridor. " She is a nightmare , honestly."

Someone knocked past Harry as they hurried past them. It was Hermione. Harry caught a glimpse of her face and was startled to see see that she was in tears.

"I think she heard you," Neville said.

"So?" said Ron, but he looked at bit uncomfortable, "She must have noticed she has got no friends.
