Grandmaster

"Here we go," Kadori mused, stepping into the blue portal and vanishing into thin air.

ZWEEEI!

ZWIN!

A few seconds later, Kadori got transported beyond the boundary.

Glancing around the area, Kadori felt like he was in a desert. Golden-colored sinking sand filled the place, and the sun kept shining brightly; there was no hiding spot around, just a large open area.

"This is more strange than I anticipated," Kadori said, glancing around the wide empty area.

Going through the portal, he had expected to arrive in a jungle just like the island back home. But instead, he was met with a desert.

[OPTIONAL QUEST]

[SURVIVE BEYOND THE BOUNDARY FOR A DAY]

[REWARD: ???]

The same notification that appeared when Kadori recently got the system popped up again.

Kadori quickly understood the concept of the notification. It only pops up when Kadori was in a dangerous location, and the chances of him getting out alive were 50-50.

"Does it mean that this place is far more dangerous than I can handle?" Kadori pondered.

The crafter specifically told him to head South since it was much safer and only contained basic beasts.

But since the notification popped up, it means it wasn't as safe as the man described.

"Could that bastard have deceived me?" Kadori said, searching his pocket and pouch, but he couldn't find his Rabid Claw energy Zen.

He quickly realized that he must have forgotten to collect it back from the Crafter since he was in a hurry to go hunting.

"He must have led me here on purpose. He wants me to die so he could have the energy Zen to himself."

It wasn't hard for Kadori to realize what had happened. Humans have always been greedy and selfish since day one.

They don't care if they hurt others, as long as they got what they wanted.

"There's no turning back now. The portal only opens up after a day. So I guess I'll have to survive until then," Kadori mused, making his way further into the desert.

Walking further, Kadori could see different types of footprints on the sand. Some looked like humans', while some were too big to belong to a human.

"I hope I don't encounter something that bi...

"DUM! DUM! DUM! DUM!

The thunderous sound of footsteps echoed throughout the desert, causing the ground on which Kadori stood to shake with every step it took.

Kadori quickly got himself ready as he waited for the incoming beast to be out in full view.

DUM! DUM! DUM!

It was at that time Kadori could see a huge figure charging towards him from afar and slashing out its vicious claws towards him.

In a split second, Kadori managed to raise up his hands and caught the claws of the huge beast.

Due to his increase in strength, he managed to hold back the beast's arm, even if part of the claws had already penetrated into his skin.

[-5 HP]

The Beast raised up its arm with Kadori still holding onto it, slamming him to the sandy floor with its second huge arm.

The hit knocked Kadori to the hot sandy floor and caused a few bruises on his body.

Kadori quickly got back up and leaped backwards to create a gap between himself and the beast to examine it more.

[CLAWNOSAUR]

[RANK: GRANDMASTER]

While glancing at the beast, a holographic screen popped up right above it, stating the name and rank.

Catching a glimpse of the beast's rank, it was now clear that he had been set up by the crafter.

The beast looked exactly like a dinosaur, except it was standing straight like a human and the claws and tail were as long and sharp as a katana blade.

'How am I supposed to defeat that thing? My only active skill is Sprint. And I bet sprint would be useless against it,'

Kadori pondered, making his fighting stance as he watched the beast close the gap between both of them.

When the beast was in striking range, it swung out its vicious claws again towards Kadori.'

Activate Sprint!' Kadori called out internally. When he did, it felt like his body was as light as a piece of paper and everything around him seemed slow, even the beast.

Seizing the opportunity, Kadori moved away from the attack and arrived behind the beast.

[SPRINT DEACTIVATED]

[SP: 9/10] [SP RENEWED]

Even if Kadori used the active skill that required 1 SP per use, the Sun renewed it back instantly, which gave Kadori a relief that he could use Sprint as much as he liked without worrying about SP.

Kadori managed to dodge the attack due to the help of sprint. Arriving behind the Beast, Kadori saw the blade-like tail being lashed out towards him...

'Shit!'Kadori didn't notice it on time, so there was no time to use his active skill again. He reacted to the attack by raising up his arms in a cross-like shape to block the strike.

SLASH!

The tail tore through his skin, causing blood to be drawn and the force behind the strike ended up pushing him backwards.

[-10 HP] [HP: 85/100]

Kadori leaped backwards again to recover from the hit and also plan his next move. Glancing at the wounds on his arm, Kadori could notice it healing up at superhuman speed.

The rate at which he was healing up felt strange to him. But he remembered everything about him now was strange.

'How do I hurt this bastard even if I wield no weapon?' Kadori pondered.

If he chose to keep jumping around and dodging the beast's attack, he would eventually run out of HP.

He wasn't ready to find out what would happen if his HP gets to zero. Would he just collapse and die just like the Moonlight games he used to play?

'It's better I don't find out.'Kadori examined the beast in front of him, trying to figure out a way to kill it even if he had no weapon on him that could harm it.

'Since I can use sprint as I like, maybe I should activate the skill then arrive behind it. Once I'm behind it, I would seize the blade-like tail then use it to har...'

Kadori paused in his thoughts as he could see the atmosphere changing.

The once bright sun was starting to set and the day was gradually becoming dark.

'You have got to be kidding me!'
