The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows over the mazaar of Jamui Sharif. It had been five long years since Si Jian had set foot in this place, her days passed in her pool of tears and praying for Huan Jing…... She had come here seeking solace, trying to find some meaning in the chaos of her life.
Today was a special day, though. It was Huan Jing's birthday. Si Jian had not forgotten, despite the years that had passed.
She had worked tirelessly to ruin his business empire, just as he and his family had ruined her life. But there was one thing she hadn't anticipated - his disappearance.
She unexpectedly fell into this abyss of love that maybe the fate didn't seem to allow.
Huan Jing had vanished without a trace, leaving behind a trail of chaos and confusion. Si Jian's soul had been in gloom and longing, agonising cries….it was so hard for her to breathe without Huan Jing….even smiling hurted her. She couldn't find him. It was a cruel twist of fate. Both were always at the same place but never wandered where they were and bye this was the decision of the fate.....both at the same place, same condition…..both were tormented in this longing, praying for each other…tearing apart, both of their soul cries for each other at the same place just different corners..years have passed but neither of them met even if they were at the same place…one near the river and other under the tree.
Si Jian stood at the entrance of the mazaar, her heart heavy with conflicting emotions. She had brought with her a large quantity of food for the poor and tormented people who were seeking solace in the mazaar. It was her way of commemorating Huan Jing's birthday, even if he was nowhere to be found. She had chosen this place because it held significance for both of them. They had once come here together, seeking solace and comfort for each other.
As Si Jian began to distribute food to the poor and needy who had gathered at the mazaar, she couldn't help but remember the happier times with Huan Jing. The laughter, the stolen glances, and the dreams they had once shared. It all felt like a distant memory now, tainted by betrayal.
The crowd of people eagerly accepted the food, their faces reflecting gratitude. Si Jian's heart ached as she realized how fortunate she was compared to these destitute souls. She had wealth and power, yet she was consumed by bitterness and anger.
One by one, she handed out the plates of food, until there was only one portion left. She looked around, trying to find someone who hadn't received a meal. She looked around and found no such person…she began to stroll forward…never visited the depths of this mazaar…now she was,and so she admired the corners she saw..she realised there was a river here too and on the bank of the river her eyes fell on a figure sitting alone in the shadow of a crumbling tree on the bank of the tree. A beggar, she thought. He was sitting down on the floor of the silent mazaar, his face obscured by a black shawl.
Si Jian approached the beggar, her heart full of pity. She knelt beside him and placed the plate of food in front of him. "Here, please eat," she said gently.
The beggar didn't respond immediately. Si Jian thought he might be too weak to speak. She was about to insist when he slowly lifted his head, and his eyes met hers. Time seemed to stand still as recognition washed over her.
It was Huan Jing.
Si Jian's breath caught in her throat, and her hands trembled as she removed the shawl that concealed his face. The man before her was a mere shadow of the person she had once known. His clothes were in tatters, his face gaunt and unshaven. The spark of life that had once burned brightly in his eyes had dimmed.
"Huan Jing?" Si Jian whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. She couldn't believe her eyes, but there was no mistaking it. It was him.
Huan Jing looked at her, his expression a mixture of surprise and disbelief. "Si Jian?" he croaked, his voice barely audible.
Si Jian's emotions overwhelmed her. The years of anger, betrayal, and revenge seemed insignificant in that moment. She had found the man she had sought to destroy, but he was no longer the person she had despised.
Without thinking, she reached out and touched his face, as if to confirm that he was real. "Huan ? You're here?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Huan Jing looked away, shame and sadness etched on his face. "Life happened," he replied, his voice filled with bitterness. "I lost everything, including myself…..I longed for you to find yourself…for your burden and pain to become mine and for you to have the solace and peace that I longed for…."
Si Jian felt a rush of guilt and regret. She had wanted revenge, but she hadn't anticipated this. She had never wanted to see the man she had loved reduced to such a state.Tears welled up in her eyes…..the pain that was already tearing heart and soul away once again rushed in her damaged soul….
Huan Jing looked at her, his eyes haunted,"Please go back to your life of privilege and forget about me....."
Si Jian couldn't bear the thought of leaving him like this. She had come here seeking solace and praying for him, but what she had found was a broken man who had already paid a heavy price for his actions.
The overwhelming emotions and the weight of their past washed over her. She swayed dizzily and then collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
The world around her faded into darkness, but in that moment, she knew that she couldn't turn her back on Huan Jing, no matter what had transpired between them. She had found him, and now, she had to find a way to heal the wounds of the past and make amends for the pain they had both endured.
Huan Jing quickly got up and picked her up in his lap trying to wake her up, he kept calling her name....tears welled up in his eyes falling onto Si Jian…..
Destiny it was…the pain and the gloom..the guilt and the darkness..the meeting and the separation…
