Chapter Five

We all reached home, mother welcomed us cheerfully while giving each of us a hug .

"How was your first day at school darlings?"

"Oh mother it was spectacular!" Michelle said with a smile hanging on her face.

"Okay girls go wash up and come down later for dinner" my mother said while heading toward the kitchen. Danielle gasped loudly making us halt in our movements.

"Mother are you indirectly saying that we're smelling?" she humoured . we all burst out in laughter.

"Yes of course you smell" my mom answered sarcastically, we sniffed our armpits and frown in displeasure.

"Wow they're adorable while sniffing their armpit, does is it smell?" she added.

"Now see what I had smelt when hugging you"

"Mom !!" Michelle yelled and dragged Danielle towards their room grumbling.

"Hahaha they're annoyed..well it's the same thing as they'll never laugh even if I say a joke" mother said with a shrug . I chuckled and went to my room. 'ah what a day!' I exclaimed and headed towards the bathroom for a shower.

I wore a light blue sleeveless dress which was above my knees and I slumped on my bed.

"Ah so comfy as I don't have any homework to do I'll just sleep off I missed your softness bedy " I mumbled before drifting off to sleep.

" Didn't I just close my eyes?... where am I?" I said softly. I was deeply surprised to see myself in a place I've never been to. The trees were tall, dark clouds covered the sky,the plants were brown and dried up, probably they had withered, the sands were also thick and dark. ' Where is this place?' I questioned internally. The atmosphere was eerie and horrific. I walked slowly while looking at every corner, some leaves which were on the sand crumbled when I stepped on them, creating a squooshing sound. I walked further, I halted at the sight in front of me. There was an old house with a grey door. 'isn't that the door in school?' I thought and walked towards the house, strangely the howling sound I heard at school was louder , squeezing my eyes shut I held the door's handle firmly and twisted it.

The door opened with a loud creaking noise, I peeped inside the house and surprisingly it was lit with candle and ancient oil lamps. Leaving the door open for an escape route , I took light steps into the house. I looked at both sides and called out.

"H..hello?"

"Is anyone here?"

A creaking sound was heard behind and I saw it was the door closing and before I could run out it banged heavily.

"No !!" I yelled.

"S..Sarah" a crooked voice called out.

"it's nice to see you reincarnated into a beautiful woman I'm deeply impressed"

"Who ..who are you, w...what are you?" I questioned with difficultly.

Suddenly the lights went off in a go. Fear crept slowly into my heart as my legs trembled.

"I didn't know you want to see me so soon" the person said with a chuckle .

Tears welled up in my eyes as my vision blurred, in the shadows, a person was seen.

"W..what are you?" that was the last statement I made before I blacked out.
